Rested at the end of February 2011 almost savages. We spent a wonderful winter weekend in Krakow. We booked a tour guide and a hotel via the Internet. We flew to Krakow via Warsaw, where we managed to spend an hour in the difference between planes in the old town of Warsaw in three hours. I took tickets at LOT, and all this cost 134 euros per person Minsk-Warsaw-Krakow and back. We also arranged a transfer from the airport via the Internet. The taxi driver met us in the evening and for 20 euros (80 pln) quickly drove us to the hotel (about 15 km), where, after a short registration procedure, we were given the keys. Room price 540 pln for a double room for three nights. A nice bonus were vouchers for a free lunch or alcoholic drinks for dinner without restrictions. Therefore, we did not miss our opportunity here. After the third consecutive "drinka" for good meat for the arrival, etc. the waiter just brought three filled stopars so that they would not drive again. At the same time, the cuisine in the restaurant is excellent, the staff in the restaurant and at the reception is friendly. Maybe not so diverse, but this did not give us a reason to go somewhere later. The breakfasts are excellent - the choice of juices, fruits, cheeses, dairy products and even salads is decent. From hot-omelet, bacon and sausages.
The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are small but adequate. We had a view of the Vistula, and someone right on the Wawel (like the Kremlin in Moscow) All rooms have wardrobes. The water pressure is small, but the water is consistently hot, the room has an air conditioner for heating, so despite the cold February (minus 10) it was warm. The room has an electric kettle with tea, coffee and sugar and two bottles of water. And tea and coffee are renewed. There are no Russian channels on TV, but there is a decent music channel, and we haven’t been in the room for a long time.
The next day, choosing between a free lunch or free spirits in the evening, we stopped for lunch and again, we were right. Moreover, lunch included several options for soups, hot with salad, and even had a choice of desserts, everything was served deliciously and beautifully according to the restaurant. I diligently ate Zurik soup, which I advise everyone to do. On the last day, I chose “bigos”, which, served directly in bread “a la Easter cake”, also did not let us down, however, at the same time, you need beer....Which is immediately available on tap. We started our gatherings with mulled wine (12 pln). But it's hard to even describe it - it's better to try it yourself. Especially wine with a dragon on the label is the basis of mulled wine, although the Poles simply call it hot wine.
We have not forgotten about the city, but this is a different review. And, of course, shopping, where without it, if you go with your wife. But my review of shopping is just waiting for my wife in numerous cafes in the Shopping Center with a nice glass of light beer. But in Europe without shopping anywhere.
I note that in Poland there is a large percentage of English-speaking Poles with good English. No one spoke Russian, but we Slavs understood everything anyway. I did not see any rejection of the Russians.
