Of the many beauties of Rotterdam 2017, Cubic Houses delighted me. The unusual design of Cubic houses attracts tourists from all over the world. From the hotel I rode here on my bike. I want to note that in the cities of the Netherlands it is very convenient to travel by bike. Thanks to them, you can see more sights. I decided to devote a separate story to cubic houses with photographs, and not limit myself to two or three photographs. I think that for those tourists who will not be able to see these houses, from my photographs they will be presented with a more complete picture of an extraordinary miracle of architecture. Some residents of these houses organize excursions to their homes for an additional fee. Personally, I paid 3 euros to two girls sitting on the second floor.

They are located in the center of Rotterdam, not far from the pedestrian bridge, on Overblaak Street, not far from the metro station of the same name. There are 38 such houses in Rotterdam, representing one whole building. Cubic houses were built in 1984. Architect Pete Bloom decided to create houses with sharp angles, slopes, and at the same time a simple form. The architect's unusual decision was that he installed the house's parallelepiped not on the edge, as usual, but on top. With this top it rests on a six-sided pylon. Each cube in Kijk-Kubus has three floors. When I got inside the cubic house, I was amazed by its layout. This is a full-fledged apartment with all amenities, where there is a bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. There is a basement for the entrance, on the first floor there is a kitchen with a living room, on the second floor there are two bedrooms with a spacious bathroom. Anything can be placed on the top floor. The same garden with flowers, where you can have a great rest, admiring the city. The top floor is a pyramid with full panoramic glazing on all its sides. The walls and windows of the Cube House are inclined at an angle of 54.7 degrees with respect to the floor. I was also surprised that the total area of the house is almost 100 square meters.
