Cities, cities...
After a winter trip to St. Valentine in Prague, more like an adventure, we decided that we would still see Dresden. There was a wonderful tour with three nights in Amsterdam and along the way with Dresden. Everything is decided, we are going to the city of my dreams. The desire to see Amsterdam has been with me for a very long time. There is such an artist A. Melkonyan, he paints amazing images of cities with a palette knife. Very often he depicts Amsterdam. Maybe that's why, or maybe for some other reason, but I always wanted to visit the Netherlands and see Amsterdam. Dresden met us in the fall with a fine drizzle, well at least not with snowdrifts. However, the charm of the city took its toll. Fine buildings, the Opera House, the Taschenberg Palace, the Zwinger. It was very touching to listen to the light chime of porcelain bells. I liked the wall of kings, but the Dresden Art Gallery is out of the question. Moreover, luck is an additional exhibition and there is Vermeer and his four canvases. To all this, a wonderful dinner at the restaurant and a little shopping, since the shops are closed on Sunday. The city is conducive to photography. We decided that we would definitely come again, because we didn’t see the New Masters, and the Old Masters are inexhaustible. Acquaintance with the Netherlands began with the city of Utrecht. There are already a lot of impressions. An excellent tour and we are sitting in some awesome restaurant hung with old photos with an indescribable atmosphere. At the exit, of course, we forget the umbrellas, buy french fries and go to Amsterdam. We arrived at Amsterdam at dusk, it's autumn after all. While waiting for the guide, it got dark and Amsterdam for the first acquaintance appeared in all its glory of evening illumination. This is really a city of houses, not palaces. You can admire them endlessly and their reflections in the waters of the canal. Wonderful bridges, hung with lanterns, smiling people around. Most of all I remember the snow-white swans in the canal near the Cass Ross Theater. The next day Diamond Factory Bonfire Diamond. The diamonds did not impress, but they bought the child a nice watch as a gift. Across the road is the Rijksmuseum. And now this is serious. Rembrandt and Vermeer and once again in a circle and a long standing at the Night Watch. After a long time did not want to go anywhere. We walked around the famous inscription, took some pictures and in front of the Van Gogh Museum. My companion decided that he had had enough and went on a free voyage, and I went to Van Gogh. I went through the entire exhibition, finally alone with my thoughts, sat and looked at my favorite paintings. There are simply no words to describe the experience. My companion pestered for a long time, why are you silent. And I didn't really want to talk. The next day we rode on a boat and photographed the towers, of which there are like 4. Then there was the Heineken Museum and beer. In the evening, the Sex Museum (fool), a walk through the Red Light District and an erotic theater. All this is probably an amateur, but I was struck by the absence of any dirt and vulgarity, it is not surprising that their children go to school through these areas. We went to a coffee shop late in the evening. Coffee with muffins coffee with k. . . , it was a lot of fun. The whole next day city tour. My companion, armed with a spare camera, went to shoot Dam Square and the surrounding area, I guess. Rotterdam is a big port but very clean. Delft is a charm. Scheveningem beautiful beach, icy sea and wonderful hot chocolate on the promenade. Madurodam, like any miniature park, and The Hague with wide streets for carriages to drive. A very modest royal palace and a very small square for parades. In general, everything is fine especially Delft. On the last day, in addition to shopping, there is also an excursion to the Zaan Schanse, Volendam and Marken Island. All fine klomps, mills, cheeses and smoked eel. The cleanliness and beauty are amazing. This is truly a kingdom. We didn't get to the Tulip Park because it's autumn, but we firmly decided to come here in the spring. At parting in the tour was the small German town of Celle. A huge number of streets with fireworks (not exactly right) houses, an abundance of flowers and excellent shopping. So a small but nice gift on tour. So, see you next time, Amsterdam.
