My husband and I have been in Malaysia for several months now, he works as a programmer, I am a freelancer. Therefore, when a minute is issued, we get out to see the country. Sometimes only for 2-3 days (my husband has a strict job). We went to Langkawi for the first time. My husband and I have been in Malaysia for several months now, he works as a programmer, I am a freelancer. Therefore, when a minute is issued, we get out to see the country. Sometimes only for 2-3 days (my husband has a strict job). We went to Langkawi for the first time. But from locals and ekpats we heard repeatedly that in Langkawi the choice of housing rests on two axes: "expensive, very expensive and chic" and "cheap, very cheap or no special conditions. " That is, luxury hotels and modest shacks-guesthouses near the road. There are almost no options when it is inexpensive (up to $ 100) per night and with some kind of service and breakfast on the island! And if there is, then everything is usually clogged. That is, "three-four", and even to the sea and restaurants - can be counted on the fingers.
Upon arrival, this is what happened. At least there were a lot of cheap hotels, but they looked...to put it mildly, more backpackers. Aseania, apparently, is just an intermediate link between "very expensive" and "cheap and cheerful". It is located 200 meters from the beach, 3 minutes walk.
The hotel is big. Even huge. The pool, as for the "three rubles" - just a miracle. Plus a paddling pool for kids and a separate "artificial wave" pool. There is enough space for everyone. Rooms - yes, so-so. But apparently from the previous review they still made some kind of repair. We had a deluxe pool view. I can’t say anything particularly bad, but in Thailand I would not live in such a hotel. That is, in the old, albeit with updates. In Thailand, the choice of hotels is simply larger, I didn’t like one - I went to another. There are no safes, this is so, by the way.
Breakfasts. Very good for such a hotel. Lots of fruits, a selection of fresh vegetables, capers, olives, pickles. Delicious chicken sausages, ham, potatoes in different variations, french toast, many options for eggs and omelettes (but you need to queue! ), pastries are not Turkish, but will do. plus local dishes: noodles, meat, rice with additives (nasi lemak), Indian roti, sauces for them, steamed Chinese buns.
There was even cheese, an ordinary hard one, like cheddar. In this regard, everything is OK and very satisfying.
Beach. Not private, as I already wrote, about two hundred meters from the hotel. Beautiful landscape, wide. The water after the eastern islands (for example, Lang Teng, about which I already wrote here) seems muddy. We did not swim, there was a strong wave. There are many activities on the beach, the most popular is skydiving. The price is about $40 per flight (120 ringgit).
Things to do. Right next to the hotel is Pantai Cenang Street, where there are bars, restaurants, massage parlors and numerous Duty Free shops. So in order to eat, there were no questions at all. Everything is at a distance of 3-10 minutes on foot from the hotel. Very comfortably. Excursions are sold on every corner, we only took "Mangroves" from the guys from Global Alliance. We went without a Russian guide (we don't need one), but the guys at the agency said that if necessary, they would always find a guide for extra payment.
In the hotel, by the way, a good guy Ikram from Uzbekistan works at the tourist desk. He also said that if a Russian guide is needed, he will find it.
More about the service in the hotel. The people there have a slightly strange idea about design and order. For example, on the greenish-gray tiles of the corridor lay colorful rugs in brown tones. It looked funny. We met an Australian family there, they rented an apartment for 5 people, where they said that they had these colorful rugs on a gray carpet. : ) The plates that are put out in the corridor outside the room after ordering food in the room are not cleaned for 3-5 hours.
But I will say this: if you do not expect something incredible (and how to expect it from an old "three rubles") - then the hotel is quite and completely. Some families did not leave it at all, as it seemed to us. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and by the pool you can generally forget where you are.
4 times a week they show a cultural show right by the pool, with dinner, but you need to sign up for it in advance.

We flew to Langkawi from Yekaterinburg - Tashkent - Kuala Lumpur - Langkawi. We were very tired from the flight, but we were met and settled very quickly - a deposit of $ 100 per room for the entire stay (2 weeks). The safe is free at the reception, the hotel is very large of several blocks, we were settled on the 1st floor, the balcony overlooked the pool (1101): cleaning every day, water, coffee, cream, bath accessories are always a lot (left 2-3 ringit = 20.

We were very tired from the flight, but we were met and settled very quickly - a deposit of $ 100 per room for the entire stay (2 weeks). The safe is free at the reception, the hotel is very large of several blocks, we were settled on the 1st floor, the balcony overlooked the pool (1101): cleaning every day, water, coffee, cream, bath accessories are always a lot (left 2-3 ringit = 20.30 rubles and in general everything is wonderful... ), there are always at least 4 towels (at check-out they handed over 8, because they took them to the beach but they don’t count when cleaning and give new ones) = no complaints! The food is monotonous, but there is always a lot of everything: chicken, sausages, ham, cheese, rice, noodles, soups, scrambled eggs in front of you, sweet rice bread, toast, jams, yogurts, milk with cereal, dried anchovies, papaya, watermelon, pineapple, oranges, juices, coffee, tea - you won't go hungry (Russians take it with them, for lunch by the pool! ). Swimming pool: beauty! , waterfalls pouring from everywhere, 2 water slides, jacuzzi, different depths - large and winding, sunbeds will always be placed wherever you want! The hotel opens the most popular street leading to an aquarium with Duty shops (but it's better not to go to a cafe there... they take tips and didn't always like it). Only alcohol is cheap in Duty: 1l Bacardi 30-36 ringgit (300 r), whiskey 18, vintage aged French wine 18-30... , even more choice and cheaper Jack Daniels in the market near Eagle Square. Near the hotel, if you stand facing the entrance, on the right is a GRECO minimarket - there is a lot of cheap stuff, Chang beer 0.33 - 2 MYR, drinks and it works until late! then if you go down that street for a supermarket, a good fish cafe and then for a pizzeria - alco-duty (open until 22-00, and in the center at the Aquarium only until 18)! if you go further along this street - a Chinese cafe - good, good 2 Thai cafes and opposite Holliday Willa 4 * - Cactus cafe - all Russians praise and inexpensive! Between this street and the central one, the middle one is access to the sea... 300 meters is an excellent beach, you can walk in one direction and the other along the white sand! there are no waves, the entrance to the sea is safe, soft sand = super, especially before sunset!
You can take excursions directly at the hotel, though in English, but it’s clear: the best Mango jungle 110 ringit with an excellent lunch is the best! , on 3 islands (an island with a fresh lake is included: the lake of the pregnant madonna is really very deep and cold, but take a dip - everyone gets pregnant! ). We went to the cable car and Eagle Square ourselves for 30 ringit one way per car, the cable car itself costs 30 ringit, but there all the locals gather and there is a huge queue, we took a VIP pass for 80 - we received gifts and entrance without a queue! breathtaking - great! and there are cheap souvenirs on sale in the village!
12 nights flew by like a moment - super! just dreaming of all this beauty!! ! If you have any questions - ask, I'll be happy to advise - I myself needed answers! see photos in the album in a personal.

Before the trip, we chose a hotel for a long time and carefully. Agreed on Lanai. Really not a bad hotel, however our room was already resold(! ) and we were offered Aseania. Type as compensation a large room on the top floor. Almost three rooms. Two toilets. Shower and bath, separate shower. Someone there in the reports suffered about the lack of a balcony.

With such heat and humidity without wind, what to do on it? Things dry best when wrung out under air conditioning, drinking Hershey is more pleasant, again, in the room under a cool breeze. In general, his absence did not upset us. Linen is clean. Everything. The benefits are over. Began small, but nasty cons.
There were only one slippers in this imperial room. Although we always carry our own with us - it was just ridiculous. Did they offer to wear them in turn? TV showed only three local channels (there are a lot of them in Lanai and there is Discovery), moreover, the signal is dual and the adjacent channel shines through in the background. There is no board for it. The remote control for two conders is also one. The plywood on the doors to the bathroom and the bottom of the toilet had peeled off and stuck out with needles. There was no hot water in the room when we checked in, we had to call a repairman. The epic was the same. The cold water faucet clatters like a Maxim machine gun. In the morning, when washing, the whole hotel is shaking, they ran to wash in the second toilet. When it rained one day, the ceiling leaked, and there was already a hole! They set up a garbage can. So she stood in the middle of the room. It was not removed the next day. The door to the room is so tight that it can successfully replace the simulator. Switches in the room - just a separate issue. They were installed by a drunk fitter. Firstly. There are an innumerable number of them and they turn on the light in different corners - different switches. Those. to turn on the light in the second room near the toilet, you need to go to the toilet in the dark and turn on the light in the room. Moreover, the "On" position can be both up and down. In general, it was an interesting activity in the evenings.
Nutrition. We are not picky people, and have been in more than a dozen hotels. But, we see such a "rare" attitude towards guests for the first time. Fried eggs or scrambled eggs. Pancakes. Toasts. This is what they do right on the spot and what is still edible. Further, a miserable, monotonous, daily and non-replaceable set: Terribly spicy brown noodles, heated canned beans or beans in a sweet stringy sauce, low-grade, not tasty sausages and liquid rice slurry on the water (I don’t even want to call it porridge) with lumps. Nothing from vegetables. Fruits (at the same time in abundance! ) Only one kind. More often it was fresh green melon. Yes, for lovers of Americanism - a jug of milk and dry cereal in a bowl.
I agree, you can choke on this. After a week of breakfasts consisting of scrambled eggs and toast with coffee, I gave up this stupid activity. Although the Chinese, Arabs, and Malaysians cracked it all with huge plates. In general, the impression was that the hotel lowered its stars to the level of a cheap weekend motel. Because the influx of this audience was from Friday to Monday. The Chinese generally tried to gobble up more than they paid, but then we came to rest! What is surprising - there is a whole street of cafes nearby, where they cook just delicious food! It was all the more insulting to hear how our friend had breakfast in Lanai. The comparison was terrible!
Service. Or his absence. They forgot to give towels twice. So, the dirty ones were taken away, but the clean ones were forgotten! There are only 2 for this whole room with two toilets!! ! towels. No for the legs and for the face - only bath. In Lanai, with a friend living in a double room, for one - SIX! They swept and wiped only along the aisles between tables and beds. A bunch of black long hair lay in the corner for 2 weeks. Once they took our knife and forks, they went to pick them up. When coffee and tea were given, when not. A bag of garbage standing next to the trash can is not taken out! The table is not wiped. Early in the morning, after breakfast, when we were leaving to ride around the island, we saw trays with leftover food and utensils lying on the floor in the corridor, returning in the evening we saw them again. Everything that people ate and drank near the pool in the evening was eaten up by monkeys in the morning.
You can still remember some nasty things, but I think this is enough to say with confidence that you DO NOT need to go to this hotel! Although I have seen happy ones. You choose!

Our request to change the light bulbs in the room was completed quickly. It's bad that there is no safe in the room, but during the entire stay we did not lose anything. We made marks, but no one seemed to be interested in our things. We lived in a deluxe with a balcony, but it is better to take a higher category, they are better. In the evenings, monkeys come to the hotel and run along the pool, waiting for something to be given to them.
The beach is about 150 m. The beach is good, I can say this. traveled the entire island and bought almost all the beaches. There are few people on the beach, there is a banana, a parachute, and jet skis.
In general, the hotel is inexpensive and if you do not mess with the presence of slippers, bathrobes, etc. in the room. then you here.

We stopped at this hotel by chance, on the advice of a taxi driver. Liked the hotel very much. Huge pool, waterfall, artificial wave, slides, bar. We stayed in a superior room overlooking the pool. The room is huge. Here's what was in the room: air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, sofa with a table, table with a mirror, chair, floor lamp, 3 table lamps, 2 beds, 2 small bedside tables, 1 large bedside table, wardrobe, toilet, shower (water G + X always), washbasin, heated towel rail.
