The hotel was visited with my mother at the end of July. Wonderful foursome, we liked everything, the impressions of the rest are super. The tour was taken from the Travel Professional Group, everything was organized simply flawlessly. Upon arrival, we were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. There, friendly and friendly reception staff offered to settle us immediately and spoke in detail about the hotel service.

Two large beds, a work area and a seating area, a large wardrobe with hangers, TV, in addition, there are tea sets in the room, which is very convenient, because in this heat you didn’t feel like eating during the day, you ate sandwiches, the supermarket is located very close. The bathroom is compact, clean, comfortable shower, always hot water and clean towels. Very convenient access to the pool area. They are located directly above the beach. Therefore, you can use sun loungers, go down to the sea, and everything is very convenient. The sea is just wonderful - warm and clean. The food at the hotel is very good. Breakfast is very varied, a lot of everything, all sorts of fruits and vegetables, eggs, cheese, toast, cereal, pastries. . Dinners with several types of meat, fish, side dishes and more. . Good service, always top notch. The staff at the hotel is open, smiling, professionals, in a word. Near the hotel there is no entertainment, as well as in the hotel itself. My mother and I liked such a vacation - quiet, calm, measured. For those who are looking for parties - not here. But trust me, the hotel is complete. justifies the cost and undoubtedly leaves pleasant memories.

We traveled to Malta in September. I already wrote in the story that our vacation was spontaneous. It didn't take long to choose. I wanted the place to be quiet but close to entertainment. To have a place to see others and show yourself. In this sense, the Qawra Palace Hotel fits 100%. We arrived at 8 am. Check-in was very fast and luggage was received just as quickly.

It takes less than 30 minutes from the airport to the hotel. So we were already at the hotel at 9 am. Alas, someone was lucky, they were settled earlier. We were unlucky and we received the keys to the room only at 14-00. Even in St. Petersburg, I specifically stipulated that the room should be with a sea view. When we entered the room, we were not that surprised, amazed. The window overlooked the neighboring hotel. And it's across a one-lane road! No, there was also a sea view, especially if you go out onto the balcony and lean over the railing! )))) But this is not the most unpleasant thing. The room had a terrible smell of old age, mold, which is called the "smell of the chest. " I had to go and talk to the manager. The number has been changed. That's where all the beauty was, as in the palm of your hand!
The hotel itself is quite old. The lower floors smell of dampness. All two weeks that we were there, the air conditioning pipe was leaking in the hall. Sometimes the maids fenced the puddle with signs, sometimes they put rags, but apparently they didn’t get to fix their hands. In general, a hotel for unpretentious guests. A safe is available in the room for an additional fee. Two weeks cost 23 euros. TV remote for a deposit. There is a hair dryer, but it is located in an unexpected place: a drawer. The hotel has an ironing room. It costs, it seems, 2.5 euros. In some rooms, in addition to English sockets, there are euros. We only had English in our room, so we had to buy an adapter. The lights in the room are VERY dim. For people with not very good eyesight, it will be problematic to do something in the evening.
We took only breakfast, although the hotel operates on an all-inclusive basis. Breakfasts are ordinary, however, in one shift there was always burnt bacon and tomatoes. Not burnt, but charred. Once, apparently by accident, the bacon turned out to be slightly burnt. Perhaps the chef thought. But the next shift is already corrected! The bacon was charred! )))
The guests at the hotel are mostly English pensioners, with a small interspersed of pensioners of other nationalities. There is nothing for young people to do there. From entertainment only dancing in the evening by the pool. Very lethargic. Oh, if only they could see how our pensioners dance somewhere in Gelendzhik to the songs of "Gems" and Pugacheva!
The hotel is located in a quiet area. But to the embankment of Bugibba, where evening life takes place at a leisurely pace, about 15 minutes. To St. Paul's Bay, at most 25 minutes. Lots of cafes and restaurants around. With one but! Malta is a mediterranean country with a siesta. During the day, almost all cafes, except for those at hotels, are closed. They open after 17. But cafes are open on the embankment during the day. Lots of eateries and shops. I really liked THE Plum Tree restaurant. Cozy place. Very friendly and humorous hostess. Well, if you want to eat cheaply, go to the Bugibba embankment. There is a first or second cafe under a large green tent. Don't pass. Cheap, delicious. By the way, the restaurant at the hotel, the one at the entrance to the hotel, is quite good. In the evening, this is the only place where there is a queue. I can recommend the Trollis supermarket, and the cheapest supermarket is on Aura Square, right opposite the pharmacy! It is small, we passed by 10 times without noticing.
Getting from Aura is also very convenient. Buses 12 and 31 go to Valletta. But 31 goes in a roundabout way, through the Bridge. Therefore, it is more convenient to go to Valletta on 12, but to return all the same at 31. At 12 there are crowds of people. In the Bridge, as everyone already understood, it goes 31. To Mdina and Rabat it goes X3. It goes straight to the airport terminal. And finally, you can only get to Marsaxlokk with a transfer. To Valletta, and there buses 81.85.
Now about the main thing. There is no beach as such. If you do not consider a concrete platform 10 by 40 meters. Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid. Two euros per item. Most prefer sunbeds by the pool. We sunbathe there, and just go down the ladder to swim, and here it is, the cleanest and most transparent sea.
Close to wild beaches. These are also just concrete platforms. Unfortunately, the sun on this side of the Aura hides behind the hotel at 4 o'clock. But if you are not lazy, then walk 100 meters along the embankment! There is a luxurious place, secluded. And the sun is there until 7. At 7 it gets dark in Malta!

Rested in August with two families with children. The impression of the hotel is twofold. On the one hand, calm, clean, tidy. polite, helpful staff. The rooms are cleaned regularly, towels are changed every day, bed linen is changed every third day. A fairly spacious extra bed was provided for the child. Breakfasts are monotonous, but hearty in English style. Dinners throughout the stay were very good. Lots of meat, fish, vegetable dishes, salads, cold appetizers. Always good desserts. The hotel is located on the first line, so access to the sea is directly from the basement of the hotel through the recreation area with swimming pools. The water is crystal clear, the seabed is rocky. The coast is made of coral limestone, so you can go to the water only in certain places. However, there were no problems, we regularly swam in the sea with our children. The pool water is sea, but somewhat cooler and slightly chlorinated. For swimming, especially for children, it is quite acceptable. In general, for a normal relaxing holiday all the conditions. Now for the sad. The hotel, though quite tidy, bears signs of old age and a long absence of cosmetic repairs. The furniture in the room has also not been updated for a long time. The air conditioner kept dripping water on the floor. The floors are tile so walking was slippery. The recreation area near the pools is cleaned poorly. Twice I ran into small pieces of glass. The cleaners begin to remove the sunbeds long before closing, which creates inconvenience for vacationers. They opened the exit to the recreation area at half past eight in the morning, when the sun was already warming in full. Only after complaints from vacationers, shortly before our departure, the recreation area with pools began to open an hour earlier. If you want to take sun loungers under umbrellas and near the pool, you need to queue up at least half an hour before opening. Otherwise, you will be content with the worst places. I was surprised by the issuance of a TV remote control at the reception for a cash deposit, as well as the presence of a hair dryer fixed in a drawer, which excluded its removal to the bathroom. Very weak water pressure in the shower. The paid sauna in the hotel is a lopsided wooden booth installed in the gym, which can accommodate up to three people. There is also a shower cabin, the door of which can only be opened by foot. In general, the hotel is clearly not up to four stars. In general, the impression of the rest spent in this hotel is positive.

There is not much to say about the hotel, we did not spend much time in it. Special thanks to our tour operator Royal Tour and manager Nadezhda for the advice to order two meals a day with dinner. For dinner, a variety of delicious dishes were offered. Lots of seafood. The service in the restaurant and in general in the hotel is at a decent level. Vacationers are predominantly older Englishmen and families. Because the hotel is relatively quiet and peaceful. What we actually needed))) In conclusion, we can add that Malta is a wonderful combination of beach holidays, interesting history, architecture, cozy restaurants, sandy and rocky beaches, pleasant communication, good shopping and just elusive charm.
The moment that I would like to draw attention to is the English-speaking country. You can practice English there with pleasure, which we did))) But with the knowledge of Russian, and even more so Ukrainian, the staff has a gap.
I wish you all a good holiday!! !

Good hotel, I liked it. A bit old, 4s are better, but in all respects comfortable, especially popular with the British (most of them settle there). The room has standard amenities for 4 people (TV, refrigerator, hair dryer), an area with swimming pools (there are enough sunbeds for those who need it and those who do not sleep until 11), billiards, Internet (2 euros / hour), tennis court (surprisingly, free of charge) .

Access to the sea is rocky with stairs, uncomfortable, but the sea is clean. Breakfast is standard to the point of horror, but the dinners are very tasty (it's worth taking, because the supplement is only 7 euros per day), usually different and with a good choice (fish, meat, salads, fruits, ice cream). Sometimes an apple pie is baked. Extra drinks for dinner fee.
Separately about the place. The villages of Aura and Bugibba themselves are very conveniently located: the very center of the northern coast and the bus station is close (the final route to Mdina, Valletta, to the ferry to Gozo, etc. ). Prices for souvenirs / light clothes are cheaper than in Valletta. Inexpensive boats to Comino Island (beautiful views and beaches) go directly from the bay nearby (20 minutes on foot or bus for lazy people). If I went again, it would be to the same places. Families also come a lot. If young people - it is better to go to Sliema (vanity, dust and discos), there is more a place for a relaxing holiday, which Italian students dilute with their parties in the evenings.

the service at the hotel is good, towels are changed every day, bedding - every 3 days. There were no problems with the equipment in the room. The only problem for those who travel to Malta to have fun is the remoteness of decent bars and discos. But every 10 minutes near the hotel there is a bus that takes you where you need to go. They also travel at night, but the schedule needs to be clarified. In general, to relax - in Aura, and rock in Pachvil - an acceptable option for a vacation in Malta.

We sat in a cafe at the hotel on the street - pretty well. By 13.00 they came to get the keys to the room and went to check in. The 7th floor, the room turned out to be spacious with a view of the Salina Bay (the view is gorgeous - there are pictures, and the room is also on the pictures - great! ) There is a TV in the room, a hair dryer! , a balcony Naturally, three mirrors are chic (one of them in full growth makes the figure in a swimsuit perfect : ) and adjustable air conditioning. Every day cleaning, change of towels, cleanliness and order. From the room, nothing was ever lost, although the money left on the table (about 10 euros in change), a camera, a watch! The food at the hotel is of high quality, my girlfriend and I liked it, in the evening there is a good choice for dinner - meat, fish, all sorts of different vegetables. Every day very tasty desserts and ice cream)))) Wonderful wines - dry white Medina and red 2005 Cavalier. And on the penultimate day before departure - fabulously tasty lamb....mmm... ! In general, the hotel has absolutely no complaints. I can clearly say the hotel is excellent for my four - you can go without a doubt! The bus drivers' strike also clearly fell on our holiday in Malta and did not prevent us from visiting all the excursions that were planned (Sicily, Gozo, Harbor Cruise and Fernandez's boat trip to the blue lagoon on Comino). The exception was the surcharge for a taxi to the port in Sicily (30 euros), the transfer was organized back as expected. Well, force majeure is force majeure, what can I do, it can happen everywhere... I liked Sicily, it’s very beautiful - such juicy greenery and melodic “Grace, grace... ” In general, I won’t tell you for a long time - everything is on very good level! The tan from the island of Malta is very beautiful, the sensations are amazing, it’s strong to visit 4 islands in one vacation, I’ll tell you)))

I just want to say right away that this will be a global anti-advertising of Malta.
I didn't like it at all, the worst vacation I've ever had
travel.
Settled in the hotel "Qawra Palace", gave a room on the ground floor,
where there is only one small window, there is no balcony at all, and under the window
some unit is constantly buzzing.
For me, the "adventure" began already on the 2nd day of my stay,
when I went to meet my guide in the morning, then to breakfast, and then I found
already cleaned room and...missing money and my traveler's checks. I reported
about this to the hotel manager, for some reason he wanted to look at my suitcase,
where they disappeared from (apparently, this is very important, more important than immediately, on hot
trace, find the culprits! ).
Then I spent almost half a day at the police station,
where they compiled a report. Upon my return, I still had a conversation with
the chief security officer of the hotel. The old Maltese asked again what
and when it was gone, and then he said that it was necessary to search all my
things (allegedly I was looking badly! ). Of course, I did not agree that an outsider
the man studied my personal belongings. Then he called the girl from the reception,
and she began to rummage diligently in my suitcase and purse, it all looked
very humiliating. Not finding the missing person, they left, and until the end of my vacation
did not even deign to tell me about the result of their alleged "investigation", although I
I suspect that they simply turned a blind eye to this, because on the last day I talked with
one girl who cleaned the rooms (she turned out to be from Russia), so,
no one in the hotel ever heard of any missing!
After half a day, I finally managed to get to the beach.
All the sun loungers were already occupied (the system is such that without a mattress - for free),
I had to sit on a chair under an umbrella at the bar. Beach by the sea (or rather, its
absence) leaves much to be desired: slippery stones, rusty stairs
and a bunch of jellyfish that sting very painfully.
Breakfasts are all monotonous, by the end of the week I could no longer watch
on fried eggs and sausages. As it turned out later, regardless of
the number of stars in each hotel give the same.
In the evening in our area Aura - Bugibba from entertainment only
long walk down the boardwalk to St. Paul's Bay, people go there
in cafes or just gawk at the shops. Prices respectively
designed for the thick wallets of tourists. I needed an adapter
to an outlet, in a hotel this was sold for 3.50 euros, and in a shop
further away I found the same one, but already for 2.92. So don't rush to buy.
all at the hotel.
For young people, rest and education in Malta may be going well,
especially if they settle in the Sliema and San Julians area, I also wanted to go there, but
travel agencies do not confirm these hotels, I had to be content
Aura. I hoped to travel around the country on my own (fortunately, she is in
length is only 30 km), but upon arrival they began a week-long strike
buses, so that all plans collapsed. Even tours were cancelled.
It's okay with them.
I want to emphasize again that the people in Malta love to take what,
as they say, lies on the edge. According to the reviews of vacationers, and the local
of the population, my case (theft) is far from being an isolated one. On the last day
we had a late transfer and I asked the reception to stay in the room
until the evening. On that day, a girl already "familiar" to me was working, rummaging
in my things. Imagine my surprise when, instead of
enter the situation and meet me halfway, she demanded an additional payment of 25 euros,
moreover, she said that she could only give another number, they say, my number is already
will be busy now.
I started "relocation" to another room; first corner
room, very noisy, plus it turned out to be a disabled room.
I hastily left some of my clothes in the closet of the old room.
I asked the front desk for the key to pick it up. I go in - the room is cleaned,
my things were blown away by the wind. Barely managed to knock back my clothes,
after an hour of searching. And my room, which I asked me to leave,
and remained empty until the evening! I don't understand this attitude.
to tourists: perhaps only to our "Russians"? But we pay
the same big money as any other vacationers.
I repeat - the service is very, very low level. And no certainty
the safety of your belongings. All this is very annoying and does not give any
moral (and physical) rest.
Over the years of traveling, I have stayed in less than star hotels,
but even there there was no such lawlessness.
So, think well, do you need such a dubious rest,
with all the ensuing consequences. If any questions arise,
I will be glad to answer them or help with advice. Write
there, then you can ignore my review. But if you still
doubt and ponder which country to go to - then read.

Write
