I will be brief, I can’t write in detail, because time is limited. Rested with his wife on a ticket tour company. Pre-selected place: the village of Rafailovichi, villa "Medusa", a room on the 3rd floor, overlooking the sea. We chose a place, guided by the desire to rest not in the "anthill". Service is normal. The room has a kitchenette. We had breakfast ourselves, dined in a restaurant, dined in a restaurant or in a room on the balcony. Overall impression - 9 out of 10 points: wonderful vacation, wonderful and beautiful country, wonderful friendly people, gentle azure sea.
The people live in poverty and earn little, there is a lot of unemployment. Owners of hotels and villas feel good. Russian is heard everywhere on the streets. A huge amount of real estate was bought by the Russians. The tour service is excellent and well organized. The weather pleased. We bought excursions: to Skadar Lake, to the canyons, to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bay of Kotor. Inspection of other nearby attractions organized by themselves (by minibuses). Food prices are slightly higher than in Ukraine. It is MANDATORY to bring dried meat "prshut" with you back, from Bosnia - monastery moonshine-raki TVRDOSH-travaritsa (on 3 herbs, very good). I didn’t like the wine and it’s not worth taking it home from there. Georgian wines are MUCH better. The airport, of course, is a separate, not very cheerful story and will not bring you any joy.
Tips for sightseeing trips:
1. Do not buy honey in the north of the country in the villages on the highway. Both guides and sellers deceive tourists: this is not mountain honey, but a fake, a caramel brew. If you buy honey, then you can only in the monastery, where you yourself will see the beehives (the price is high and does not justify itself). And even then - our honey is much better and do not get fooled by their persuasions. Guides receive from sellers 10% of the amount for which tourists fork out.
2. Do not swim on large pleasure boats during a tour of Skadar Lake. In this conservation area, the liquid content of metal boxes under the toilets is poured directly into the water.
Other Tips :
When departing from Ukraine, plan a 25% margin for the allowable weight of your belongings for 1 person on the return flight, so as not to pay a lot of money at the airport for overweight.
Immediately buy special shoes for the beach: walking on small stones on the beach hurts. You can also swim in them. Fins are not worth taking. You must take a mask and a tube.
Who has - take a camera and binoculars. Especially binoculars are very useful.
Who does not disdain - you can use new air mattresses and umbrellas thrown by tourists.
Who wants to relax alone (for older people), you need to stay in a village 20 km south of the town of Rafailovici. I don't remember the names. There is a large long beach and very few tourists.
When swimming in the sea, do not stand with your bare feet on the rocks. There are a lot of sea stars there. They are not poisonous, but getting needles out of the foot is an unpleasant and lengthy task.
If you like to fish, you should not take tackle and spinning rods with you. No fishing. You can also hire a boat for trolling in the sea
catch small tuna. But success is not always EXPENSIVE.
Unpleasant impressions - attitude towards nature and bad habits of the people and tourists:
there is a lot of garbage around the cities along the roads, a lot of empty bottles and cans in the sea near the coast, everyone smokes mercilessly and everywhere, especially the locals, and the gobies on the beach right next to them "hide" in pebbles. Under the bedding you will definitely find 2-4 cigarette butts. Their cleaners do not filter. There is NOT A SINGLE sewage treatment plant on the coast of the country! All sewerage from cities merges through pipes far into the sea.
