About the people and about the country as a whole
We rested from 3.08. 09 to 14.08. 09 at Villa Lumovich. we had a honeymoon. in order to spend it properly, we found out where excursions are sold on the first day. One woman from Budva named Alexandra ("Gardashevich Travel") offered us a list of excursions. we chose three of them for ourselves (and subsequently the fourth in Dubrovnik, Croatia). Alexandra was imbued with our desire to travel and advised the most basic and beautiful - the Ostrog Monastery, a tour of the canyons and Skadar Lake. My wife and I enjoyed the canyon tour the most. Our guide was Boyan. The guy, although in a broken language, told very cool things about the country, and he himself is a prankster. it was fun with him, and the driver is handsome. through the whole country on a bus along continuous narrow winding paths drove us confidently and safely. the tour consisted of 4 main stops (not counting the stop for pipi and photographing against the backdrop of mountain rivers and waterfalls). The first stop was at the Moraca monastery. this is a monastery of the 13th century, very pretty, compact, and the priests are very sociable and friendly in it. then we drove to the Beogradska Gora nature reserve (located high in the mountains, consists of mountain forests and a large crystal clear lake). then we drove along the mountain river Tara to the Dzhurdzhevich bridge (the highest bridge in Europe and the second highest in the world). from the bridge we saw mountains, rivers and even wild animals (roe deer were not afraid of people there, they calmly walked under the bridge). Then we visited the Durmitor nature reserve. it is also located high in the mountains, everywhere there are signs to beware of wild animals. they say there are even wild bears there. we were dropped off near the Black Lake (the name really matches in color, because although it is clean, the middle of the lake seems black in the photographs). We immediately tried fried trout in the restaurant. If someone goes and offers you to try food at a local restaurant, I advise you to politely refuse. their trout is burnt, the food is not tasty. I think that 10 euros for burnt fish and a tasteless side dish + a dry apple for dessert is not worth paying. It’s better to order something yourself, or take something to eat with you.
regarding the other two excursions - they were led by a guide Nino. The kid memorized the parasitic words "Of course", "Okay" and a couple of others, and inserted them after each sentence. on the way to Skadar Lake, I forgot to pick up the tourists, so we had to wait half an hour until they were taken by car to us. to everyone who travels from Ukraine - I advise you to buy everything you need in Ukraine to the maximum, because in Montenegro prices are all multiplied by two. For example, a liter of 95th gasoline - 1.1 euros, sparkling water 0.8 euros one and a half liters, dry red wine 3 euros, a loaf of air-air - 0.7 euros. local pizza 2 euros a piece, local similarity of shawarma - Girosh - 3 euros and so on.
Budva has an old town. I do not recommend going to his museums. there is nothing interesting there, but you will have to throw out 2 euros for the entrance to each museum. For those who initially want to save money, I advise you to ask when leaving the airport where the nearest supermarket is. to orient - it is located if you leave the airport - on the left sideways through the parking lot near the gas station.
there were majors who went to restaurants. there for a dish dumped on 30 euros. I don’t know what kind of fish is there, but I was uncomfortable with such prices.
For those who want to save money, I advise you to choose a villa with a kitchen in the room.
I also want to note that not everyone will like excursions to the Ostrog Monastery and Skadar Lake. you need to walk to the monastery on foot along a steep mountain, a solid kilometer, probably... or pay 1 euro for a minibus there and a euro back. On Lake Skadar, just look at the water lilies and local landscapes (they can’t be compared with canyons), plus two stops to swim, and return back for lunch. Lunch is also an amateur. The soup (chorba) is good, the trout sucks. As a side dish, mashed potatoes + millet + rice.
But I really liked it in Croatia (Dubrovnik). The old city with tile-roofed houses, many churches, and all this is surrounded by protective walls, from which a beautiful view opens, narrow streets, many shops with people's books and souvenirs (which cannot be said about Budva, although there is a developed beautiful compact city).
Separately, I also want to note the hospitality of the owner of the villa Lumovich **, Raiko. Although I would give his villa 3 stars. He always treats his guests with homemade brandy of his own preparation, and in general, he helped us in difficult times (when our plane was canceled, he brought us back to the villa, fed us for free, gave us a drink and gave us a room to spend the night).
Yes! Didn't write about local beaches. there is only one beach in the city that can be called really clean. And he is paid. This is Mogren Beach. entrance costs 1 euro per day per person. trestle bed with an umbrella 4 euros. everyone who wants to save money and not miss the free space on the beach - I advise you to come early in the morning (at 7-8 hours), because then the natives come running and begin to push all the vacationers almost into the very water.
If you feel sorry for the entrance to this beach, you can easily visit other beaches, but the water there seems to be draining from the sewer + a little grass.
local youth is no different from our cattle in the Crimea. just as arrogant and assertive, not in comparison with their old generation, which respects overseas guests from the former USSR.
about local entertainment - there is an amusement park, a big top circus and two clubs. I haven’t been to one of them, but the girls from the next room said that a good trance and house plays in one of the clubs.
In general, I am satisfied with the trip, but even if I go there a second time, it will only be to go to the canyons, and I will only stay with Raiko Lumovich, because he is a good man, he will help in difficult times. And so there is nothing for a simple person to do there. There are no interesting excursions. the country is deprived of historical monuments. No palaces for you, no castles. Yes, and history consists of two personalities - both Peter, and both Negoshi.
