A little about the rest in Budva in 2015
Good afternoon, we have just returned from Montenegro, the city of Budva. Hotel Garni Hotel Mena 3 * vs, at the time of check-in, 4-5 people lived in the hotel. The hotel is small 23 rooms, clean cleaning and change of towels daily. Breakfast is standard for Europe. We didn't go hungry, but don't expect variety either. 3 types of sausages, scrambled eggs, one type of cheese, fresh cucumber, something from baking............. well, that's all. For my taste, the range is a bit smaller than usual. We took a room on the first floor, for convenience, and do not lift the suitcases once again. But I don't recommend it for light sleepers. There is a laundry nearby, not intrusive, but still there is noise from its work. The staff is responsive, they asked for plates and forks and glasses, they gave everything without problems. They speak a little Russian, but everyone understands. Speak slowly everywhere, then for sure you and you will be understood.
The hotel is located 5-7 minutes walk from the sea. There will also be beaches with large pebbles.
But depending on which beach, choose the time to increase, we went to Mogren 1 and 2 at a walking pace with stops for photos of 15-20 minutes. these are the furthest beaches. You can find a closer place. 2 sun loungers and an umbrella from 5 to 10 euros, but you can lie down on your own.
To the Old City about 10-15. There is something to see for lovers of antiquity, many small shops and cafes. Entrance to the Archaeological Museum 2 euros. entrance to the citadel 2.5 euros.
Lunch in the center of the Old Town about 40 euros. The portions are decent, can be divided for two. Near the hotel there are 2 bakers, you can take Bureks there - a thin dough stuffed with meat, cheese, etc. 1 euro, Pizza and other pastries. There are grocery stores. The Roda supermarket is located on the main street if you walk from the hotel to the traffic lights and turn left 300-500 meters, I did not notice the difference in price with the store near the hotel, the one that is 50 meters higher. Also next to the traffic lights there are 2 butcher shops.
An excellent choice and good quality meat products that can be cooked there. The cost of cooking 1 kg is 1 euro. We bought 300 grams, pay 30 cents, etc. Food for every pocket I heard that people ate set meals for 3.5 euros, but I didn’t try it myself. I saw invitations at restaurants to the complex for 9 euros, this is a 3-course lunch. We often ate seafood on the menu, maybe where there is cheaper I can’t say. In the restaurant Lim, Obala, Tropicana and Skylight in the old town, fish and meat. salad dessert, coffee. 1 liter of wine is about 45 to 65 euros. I repeat, we did not save. You can eat much cheaper.
Excursions - I think everything can be done like we are on the bus for 2-6 euros. I do not recommend a trip to Skadar Lake. In my opinion, it is not at all informative and the views are so-so. They will lure pelicans .......... but it is a huge rarity to see them, since they live in another part of the lake and tourists are not taken there. You will probably see one or two stray ones.
Pay attention to the mini-zoo located at the Budva bus station, there are two beautiful deer there, the kids will be interested. Or as we planned on a rented car. The price of renting a car is from 35 euros per day........... but since we were going very quickly, the agency found out that the rights were left at home. Experience must be at least 2 years. The usual Russian driver's license is valid there.
Surfing is an excellent entertainment, they teach in one lesson on a small beach almost at the Budva ballerina, new emotions are worth the paid 20 euros. Catamaran 10 euros the first hour then an hour for 5 euros on Mogren beach.
