Only Budva!
We were in Montenegro in 2006. We wanted to get to Budva and our expectations were justified. We traveled from Lvov by bus through Hungary and Serbia. At dawn we were already in Montenegro. We were met by the extraordinary beauty of the mountains. But most of all I was struck by the canyon through which we passed. We drove over it for over 2 hours. The speed of the bus was about 30 km. Virtually no one cheated. Narrow road and tunnels, and so on serpentine up and down. Beauty is indescribable, and look down from the height dizzy. When the canyon ended, everyone sighed, and thought how we would return at night on our way back. The drivers said that it was not so scary at night, because nothing was visible.
And so we are in Budva. Basically, here all the tourists live in villas. What it is? You are accommodated separately, sometimes the owners may visit you for the purpose of cleaning. Our villa was located in the very center opposite the market, which was very convenient, since we were going to cook our own food, bringing some probuktu with us.
Room overlooking the road and the sea was simple but clean and well maintained. Refrigerator, two glasses, a half-table, a chair, a good bed, respectively, a toilet, a shower.
There are of course hotels here, but you can argue about the number of stars.
Montenegrin service, let's say, is not very intrusive. We had 11 nights cleaned once and once brought toilet paper. True, the owners did not interfere with us.
In Budva, everything was sold for a couple of euros. The cheapest postcard is 0.60 euros. Call home 1 euro.
We ate from the market and there was a great supermarket!! ! We were offered dinner for 7 dollars in LM, we refused.
About the supermarket separately. It lives up to its name, it had a service culture that I have never seen anywhere else. The sales area is average and no queues. You went to the checkout with a basket of groceries, the cashier stands (there is nothing to sit on), takes out your products herself, after reading the price, she puts them in your bag, which is held by another girl, at that moment you take out the money and pay, then you are handed a check and your package. SUPER!
Budva has been famous since Soviet times for its recreation. The town turned out to be very tenacious even at night. It seemed that life here does not stop for a minute. Until 24 and later, vacationers and locals made an easy promenade along the embankment. By the way, Russian is constantly heard, there are a lot of our elderly grandparents and such perky ones. They say the Russians bought entire blocks here. For some reason, the cost of real estate is about $ 1000 per meter and a wonderful climate.
The beach is shared. There were umbrellas and sun loungers, 6 euros. True, you could just lie down on a towel, which was what the locals and ours did. The beach is small pebbles and sand. For all the time, complete calm (bay). The water is clear and warm, warmed up to 28. During the day it was a bit hot and we went to the room. The room didn't have air conditioning. Most of the inconvenience was delivered by the night traffic, especially motorcycles at 3-4 am.
There are many excursions on the beach. We took a boat for 60 euros and went to the island of St. Stephen for 2 hours. We also went on excursions to the city of Kotor. On the way we stopped at Herceg Novi. I was struck by the beauty of the Bay of Kotor. We also visited Albania.
In general, we really enjoyed our stay, especially the nature…
