We traveled by plane, and I must say that my wife was very impressed, because it was her first flight in life. The flight lasted two hours, after which we landed at the airport in Tivat (by the way, the emphasis in most words of the Serbian language, the official language of Montenegro, falls on the first syllable).
The capital of Montenegro is the city of Podgorica, where one of the two international airports is located. But the airport near the city of Tivat is located closer to the resort area - Budva Riviera. Budva Riviera is a few small towns and villages along the coast with some of the best beaches in Europe. Interestingly, the beach in Becici, a small village near the city of Budva, in 1936 won the Grand Prix in Paris as the best beach in Europe.
In 1991, Montenegro was recognized as an ecologically clean country in Europe, and a few years later its natural parks were taken under the protection of UNESCO. The air there is clean and easy to breathe, unlike gassed Kyiv.

Many people grow palm trees, tangerines and pomegranates in the yard, like our apple or pear trees. It was interesting to try the oranges just plucked from the tree - the taste is completely different from the taste of tangerines, which lay for some time before getting into your mouth.
The first thing our people do when they first come to Montenegro or another country where the national currency is the euro, it is constantly done in the head or on a calculator hundreds of calculations, the main essence of which is multiplication or division by 7. I will not lie, myself I'm no exception. It costs almost nothing less than a euro. Therefore, at first it seemed to us that the brought euros will not be enough until the end of the holiday. It turned out that the only thing left was to eat in Montenegro relatively cheaply. And since our villa had a room with a kitchen, we saved a lot by often cooking for ourselves. In fact, everyone is advised not to order fish in Montenegro, as it is very expensive.
First, there are places where this fish can be ordered quite cheaply (dinner for two with a variety of fish, king prawns and squid plus drinks - 30 euros). Secondly, you can go in the morning to the central market (market) in Budva and buy the same fish and squid (which are local, fresh and not frozen) three times cheaper, and then fry it all in olive oil, which can also be purchased at this market.
But the main thing here is the sea. The Adriatic Sea is very clean, because it does not have the characteristic odor created by algae when they are thrown off the shore, and they begin to decompose in the sun. Clean, clear sea, shallow pebbles and sand covering the beaches will make the beach enjoyable for everyone. It is also comforting that almost all beaches are free - if desired, you can use a deck chair and umbrella for a couple of euros a day. The sun in mid and late September is not as hot as in summer, so you can lie quietly for hours in the sun.

Many Russians and Ukrainians are among the vacationers - about half of all guests on the Budva Riviera. The other half consists of Montenegrins, Serbs and others. People there are friendly and rarely try to deceive you or extort more money. The main thing is not to speak English, because it is not liked here for obvious reasons (war in the Balkans). But young people are quite fond of English - this is facilitated by music, which is very popular in Montenegro. In addition to their beautiful music and singing, Montenegrins enjoy listening to rock music such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles or Scorpions.
We stopped at a villa in the village of Becici.
The main part of this village are villas - such as mini-hotels or cottages, or just two- and three-story houses, which rent rooms with bed, TV (satellite), air conditioning, kitchen with stove, sink and table, as well as bathroom with toilet and hydromassage shower. This room costs from 30 euros per night per person (with breakfast), if you buy a ticket through a Kiev travel agency, but it is better to contact the owners of the villa directly, then the price will be 10 euros per person - three times cheaper.
We chose Becici because the beach here is much better than in the neighboring town of Budva. It's quieter here, because everyone goes for a walk in Budva. Budva resembles our Yalta and Koktebel combined. There are many different cafes, discos and entertainment. To Budva on foot to go about half an hour. But you can take a bus or a small train.
In my opinion, there can be nothing better than a walk along the sea. It is better to live in Becici or Rafailovici (the next village after Becici), and from there go for a walk in Budva.
All vacationers are offered many excursions, which are quite expensive. You can go to many interesting places on your own, as we did, coming to the bus station in Budva and buying tickets for 2.5 - 3 euros per person. The first place we went to was the ancient cultural capital of Montenegro - the city of Cetinje. There is a monastery, where the right hand of Jonah the Baptist is still preserved. The monasteries there are not very beautiful in terms of architecture, compared to our Lavra and other churches.
We also went on foot (back and forth) to the peninsula of St. Stephen. It is a small village, a peninsula-town, located almost at the end of the Budva Riviera.

It used to be a fishing village, but now there are very expensive, luxurious hotels, where even the mayor of Moscow Luzhkov rests. Unfortunately, they are not allowed there now, because the restoration is underway, which will end in two years. It is quite nice to walk around the park, and the beach there, in my opinion, is even better than in Becici.
We made another trip to the city of Kotor, located on the shores of the Bay of Kotor. Boka means bay. It is a very large and elongated sea bay with many villages along the coast. Kotor is a very beautiful ancient stone town. But the most beautiful thing there is the view from above, if you climb, like us, to the very top of the old Venetian fortress. From above you will see a city with tiled roofs and narrow streets. By the way, here is the narrowest street in the world. The stone houses are so tight that it's hard to get together.
This Kotor is a very beautiful place, but be sure to go upstairs, because excursions bypass this place, it is clear why - who wants to climb so high?
Many times we went to the old town of Budva. It resembles Kotor, but smaller in size. However, there are many more cafes, restaurants and shops. Crowds of people fill the old town in the evening. If you, like us, like to drink an interesting cocktail and eat a delicious dessert, such as tiramisu, I advise you to visit the Ice Club cafe.
Another interesting place is the island of St. Nicholas. It is quite small and is located near Budva. You can get there by motor boat in about 15-20 minutes, paying 15 euros for two round trips. On this island is the church of St. Nicholas, but she is in poor condition, so there is nothing to see. And you need to go to the island to swim in the cleanest and most transparent water on the high seas.
In addition, there are few people there, and no one will stop you from indulging in what your mother gave birth to.

There is a lot to tell about the mountains of Montenegro, but it is better to visit there yourself. I will just say that although they resemble the Crimea, they are taller and cleaner. By the way, in Montenegro there is the second largest canyon in the world - the canyon of the Tara River. Skadar Lake is also very large. Both the first and the second take the whole day of the tour, so this time we decided to see other places, but next time we will definitely visit there.
