Moroccan disappointment

We rested in Agadir from August 4 to 18, the impressions were the most negative. First things first.

Hotel. We stayed at Blue Sea Tivoli 4*. The hotel itself is not bad, large rooms, but everything is very old, the plumbing is rusty, the sink is constantly clogged and the smell of dampness does not disappear. But we did not pay much attention to this, because we did not plan to spend much time in the room. What annoyed me the most was the problem with the towels. If you come from the beach in the middle of the day and decide to take a shower, you will have nothing to wipe yourself with. In the morning, all towels are taken away, sent to the laundry and returned at 5-6 pm. When we first encountered this, I went looking for a maid (note: maids only speak French! ). At my request to give out a towel, it was said: I don’t have them, they are in the wash, I don’t know when they are ready, it depends on how quickly they wash. If you have any questions - go to the reception! The reception made a very surprised face, why did I need a towel in the middle of the day? Whether seen this business in the afternoon to wash! After spending time and shouting there, we managed to achieve that the maid was asked to give us towels out of turn. But despite the fact that we asked both at the reception and specifically at the maids to leave at least one towel each, nothing has changed and we just had to hide them until the end of the holiday.

When we bought the ticket, we were told that there were very few Russians in the hotel. We were delighted, of course! Since mostly foreigners have a rest, it means a good hotel and service! It wasn't there! There are really very few Russians, but (! ) 90% of vacationers are locals!

Beach. We used to think that if the hotel has its own beach, then you can relax on a sunbed, contemplate the water surface and swim freely whenever you want. No, it's not, surprise! The beach is divided into zones in a very strange way. Imagine a stretch of beach from the promenade to the ocean. Usually it is the zone that belongs to the hotel. In Agadir, this is a rectangle, which is separated by a rope, and the rest of the zone is common, which is occupied by the local population. That is, in order to get from your beach to the water, you must pass the crowd of the local population. By the way, there are a lot of them there, they come with their whole families right in the morning on any day of the week (it is not clear who and when works there), put up tents and enjoy life - completely wrapped up women with children sit on the shore, men frolic in the water. Naturally, no one thinks about the need to leave at least some space between the tents so that other vacationers can go to the water, why? Sitting just one on one! Not to mention the fact that there is no way to admire the ocean from your sunbed, because the splendor of the tent just blocks everything! Plus, the nation is very dirty, it manifests itself everywhere (having eaten and drunk on the street they even throw empty one and a half liter bottles of water and boxes of big macs on the ground! ), Accordingly, there is terrible mud on the beach and a lot of garbage also floats in the water by lunchtime. There is neither a shower nor a toilet on any beach (that's why you go to the salty room to wash yourself as soon as possible, and there is fun with towels! ). Women bathe in all their clothes, then they sit on the sand in all their wet clothes, and then they climb into the pool in all this (as I said, a huge number of them were residents of our hotel). As a result, they swam in the pool for all 2 weeks 4 times (due to the dirt and the huge number of children. By the way, the pool turned out to be 3 times smaller than in the photo.

The tour included only breakfast, which we were immensely happy about! And not only because the food is very monotonous, but because in the dining room I constantly had to deal with the same local population. How much dirt they leave behind! It was just disgusting to be around sometimes. They leave behind a bunch of crumbs, leftovers, pieces of paper, which is lying not only on the table (which could be explained), but also on the floor and on chairs! They talk very loudly, champ, eat with their hands and the like! After drinking tea from a glass, put it on a tray with clean glasses! What is the queue and personal space have never heard. Therefore, we were only glad that we could get out for lunch and dinner in different cafes.

In this regard, there were no strong disappointments, the food is delicious, but not to say that they have a large selection of national dishes and seafood. The prices are high, higher than in Moscow. One dish (for example, risotto or pasta) cost 700-800 rubles. Alcohol is hard to find. The license for it is very expensive, therefore, not all establishments sell it, and where it is, the price is inadequately high. Moroccans are very PR for their "famous gray wine. " Complete slag. It tastes like mash, very sour and makes the cheekbones cramp, and that white, that red, that gray - everything tastes the same. Beer is sold in bottles of 0.24 and costs about 80 rubles with our money (and even then, if you really look).

There is nothing to see in the city, there is nowhere to walk except the embankment. In the evening, there is simply no crowding, everyone moves from the beach to the embankment, and the walk turns into overcoming obstacles, i. e. pushing through the crowd. Of the entertainment, there is only a Ferris wheel and a train that rides around the city for half an hour.

Excursions. About 4-5 excursions are offered. We wanted to take it, but then we listened to what people were saying and abandoned the idea. Those who went to Marrakesh cursed everything. It takes 3 hours to go there, when we arrived, they were dropped off and said: you have 4 hours of free time, then back. Nothing was shown, nothing was said. The heat is incredible, there is nowhere to hide, one girl said that her shoes began to melt! The main attraction of this city is the market, which is better not to go without a guide, because it is very easy to get lost there! A couple of days later, a married couple from our hotel was supposed to go on this excursion, so they didn’t come for them at all! Guides, by the way, answer all questions and complaints rather rudely: what do you want from us, we work in several hotels at once! So if you need any help or advice, then there is no one to turn to.

We ended up going on one excursion to Legzira Beach, but in fact it was a trip to places where they tried to cheat us for money. We drove there for a very long time, stopping along the way: to drink tea and buy cacti, buy silver, take a picture with a camel, buy dishes. In general, wherever you can spend money! When we finally arrived at the beach, we were immediately put in a cafe, where everything was seized, fed (which was also a very dubious event, since everything was very dirty and the flies climbed right into our mouths), and in the end we were ripped off an amount 4 times as large than in any other cafe! ! As a result, we spent 1.5 hours on the yarn, where we were again able to hang around in a crowd of locals. The road back took 3 hours (although you can get there in an hour) with all the same stops at souvenir shops, etc.

But we did not lose heart! We thought: yes, it's okay, because we came to swim and sunbathe, and no one can take this away from us! Hell no! There were two or three fully sunny days in 2 weeks! The rest of the time it is foggy and quite cold. It rained twice, torrential once. Walking periodically went in sweatshirts and jeans. In the morning you wake up - fog, then the sun may come out for half an hour, and fog again. We thought that it was just that we were so unlucky, but then we learned from the locals that such weather is normal for them.

Women should never go without a male escort, the feeling is that a white man has never been seen there. They just stop and open their mouths to see them off. Even on the beach in a bathing suit you feel very uncomfortable. There are a lot of beggars on the streets who beg for money by pulling your hands and clothes.

In general, Morocco is not at all ready to receive tourists, we do not advise you to go there. The voucher cost 100 thousand (this is only breakfast! ) And they spent about the same amount there. For that kind of money, you can have a much better vacation in any other more exotic country, where you will not have to deal with trouble every day.
