We caught Maritim at a good price on booking. com - for 3 nights approximately 46 euros per night. (And on dates further, it cost some inadequate money).
We booked almost the day before, maybe a couple of days before arrival, because we were in Tallinn and decided to go to Riga.
We were looking for a hotel not too far from the Old Town. With air conditioning. Normal level, with good reviews.
The reviews in general were nothing, but from one we just laughed for 10 minutes.
I quote it verbatim:
"Disgusting value for money. 209 euros per room. Instead of two beds or one large, the room had 5 beds!! ! Bathrobes and slippers appeared only after going to the reception. At 2 am, someone started vacuuming under the door. I won't do it again stay at this hotel. "
We sincerely felt sorry for this poor fellow))) One feels it was not his day)))

The hotel itself is located across the river, three stops from the Old Town.
First, the bus station. Then the Old City. Then the tram crosses the bridge. And there are a couple more stops and get off at the third one. Before the entrance to the hotel from the bus stop - 30 steps.
The stop is called A. Green Boulevard. Maritim is impossible to miss - it's a huge hotel. And at night the name is lit in blue, seen from afar.
The Victory Park is next to the hotel. We had a high floor, a view of the park, and if you look a little to the left, you can see the churches of the Old Town.
Really big room!
The room has a large double bed.
The bathroom has a full bath.
The bathroom itself is also large.
In addition to the toilet there is a bidet.
The only remark, it is not entirely clear why instead of curtains there is a glass door that covers only half a bathroom.
And if you don’t care too much to wash, then you can fill the floor with water quite well.
There is a hair dryer.
The bathroom has a bathrobe and comfortable slippers.
The room also has a wardrobe, table, sofa, chairs. TV set. Air conditioning. Safe.
Mini bar.
There is no kettle, but we had our own.
Outlets throughout the room - the sea.
There is even a trouser press, but it somehow mysteriously worked and we left it alone.
The windows are large, but they cannot be fully opened. Can only be opened to the side (there are limiters)
But given the fact that there is air conditioning - it's ok.
The hotel does have a large car park.
Somewhere behind the park (seemingly) there is a station where you can walk through the park and take the train half an hour to Jurmala. But we never got together, because it rained from time to time.
But I must say that if we proceed from the price of 200 euros per room - the furniture in the room, of course, is so-so. Chipboard of such an average level.

The taxi driver who once drove us from the Old Town spoke Russian and said that in Soviet times Maritim was called the Tourist Hotel.
But since then, judging by the internal and external appearance of the hotel, a lot has changed))).

There is a Bellevue restaurant on the last floor, and the name really justifies itself - the view from there is not bad. The only pity is that it only works until 23-00 (and the kitchen closes even earlier).

Starting from inexpensive dumplings (until 4 in the morning) and ending with normal establishments like "Pizza Malibu" (we ate there just after 23-00), where you can eat grilled trout for sane money (for two, eat there 15-20 lats, i. e. 25-30 euros)
And there are discos.
You can then safely return to the hotel by catching a taxi at the bridge for 3.5 lats (about 5 euros). If you catch in the Old Town - there is a price tag of 7-8 lats. A taxi from the hotel also costs 7-8, although as we already know it takes 5 minutes to go there and more than 3-4lats, there is absolutely no point in paying.
On foot to Maritima, it is better not to walk there at night.
First, it's too far. To put it bluntly, quite.
Secondly, there are almost no people across the river at night, there are houses, people live, but the streets are just empty.
As I said, the area is not conducive to walking at night.
It is also difficult to find a detailed map of this area))).
And so - by tram or taxi - very quickly and nearby.
The "City Tour" bus seems to be passing by the hotel during the day, at some hours it stops there.
It is easy to get from the bus station. You can exit the bus station, in front of you is a canal and behind it is an oblong large building smelling of fish (market). It is necessary to bypass the channel and between it and the market - a tram stop.
We look at what goes to A. Green Boulevard and go.
The second option - after arrival, go to the bus station building, exit, go left, go under the overpass. The shopping center Forum and Stockman will be on the right. And tram stops.
It seems number 5 also goes to Maritim.
At the reception, by the way, they change the euro, although at a low rate (but they honestly warn about this. That we have 0.6, and 0.7 in the city).
To be honest, after Tallinn, for some reason, we naively thought that the euro was already circulating throughout the Baltic states. To our surprise, they do not recognize the euro for money and do not accept it for payment anywhere.
That's why we paid by card in many places. With this, there is order - they are accepted almost everywhere.
It is better to change in the Old City.
I found the most profitable rate in the area of the Powder Tower, there is some kind of local "Regional Bank-something-there. " There the rate was 0.7033
In the evening, there are also some exchangers for 0.67 trade.
And at night it is very difficult to find where to change. The euro, as I understand it, is not in use at all, tips in the form of coins of 1-2 euros caused obvious bewilderment among the waitresses.
