We rested with a group of 4 girls. We flew with fly-dubai. An ordinary airplane, but a zhrachka and a drink for babules. Problems arose already on arrival. For some reason, we were not on the transfer list, we had to wait two hours for someone to deign to take us to the hotel. While driving to the hotel, a terrible scandal broke out on the bus. Several couples paid for 5 * hotels and they were not on the lists. With those who agreed to the proposed 3 * hotel, the scandal ended, but with the intractable, it came to the police. And the Sri Lankans are in complete frost, like it’s bullies working in your agencies. In short, I don’t know how it ended, we were already brought to our hotel.
No one speaks Russian at the reception, so without knowing at least some English it will be difficult. Because, unfortunately, sometimes I had to contact the reception even several times a day. Having taken the documents from my friends, in a strange way, there was no reservation on their names either. We are shocked. But for some reason, 2 rooms were booked for my last name. Thank God, after a few calls to the operator, we were all the same settled. We booked superions in a 4*building. Surprisingly, the rooms were really spacious and clean. On the 1st floor. But the troubles did not end there, we were told that we had booked breakfast, although we booked HB. And only by 9 pm after calls to Ukraine to our agents and operators and, of course, swearing at the reception, we were still given dinner. But believe me, we were not the only ones and not everyone was so lucky. Animals never ran into the room, the broken refrigerator was brought already repaired the next morning. All rooms overlook the pool with the ocean, because on the other side of the railway road. By the way, I visited villas of the 3 * category, and the rooms there are not creepy, but pindyrosh and terribly stink of dampness, when it rains, the roof leaks, and the shower is a hole in the wall in the middle of the toilet (I'm serious).
The territory is really huge, beautiful and well-groomed, you can easily walk barefoot everywhere, there are a lot of herons and chipmunks that you can feed from your hands, bring the elephant Monica, but giant cockroaches, snakes are often found and in the evenings the beach is teeming with crabs.

Local weddings take place every day, so they don’t add food to the dining room for vacationers if you come at least 40 before closing and you’re left hungry. In general, the zhrachka is monotonous shit. In the morning: eggs, bread, scrambled eggs, fruit, salted butter, oatmeal and the worst Nescafe coffee and tea. In the evening: rice, pasta, sometimes pork with cracklings, sometimes beef, which can be hammered in nails, sometimes chicken, the only thing that has no pretensions, rubber potatoes, plastic fish, salads all with mayonnaise and cut like on Olivier, which in appearance resembles porridge . We were really pleased with the desserts: all sorts of delicious musics, chocolate cakes and pastries like our potatoes. A couple of times they gave some inedible parts from crab and lobster. There is a lot of national food, but it is not spicy, but simply bitter without salt and generally without a certain taste. Personally, I lost 3 kg of weight from such food, and when I arrived home, I gave up for several days. But if you don’t do much harm, then of course you won’t stay hungry. In any case, take HB or All, because in the only cafe at Lelik’s, a plate of shrimp and rice will cost $ 25, and believe me, it’s unrealistic to eat this. In the bazaar, it’s true that fruits are cheap, for example, pineapple $ 1.3, mango 3 pieces for $ 1
Take excursions from local guides or negotiate with tuk tuks. They will take you wherever you want. For example, an excursion to Kalutara, Wadduwa, a fruit market and a trip to local shops - $ 5 for two. Turtle nursery, port, yellow river, Bennota - $25 for two. Basically, of course, they speak English.
Alcohol is better to take in the dutik. Go on an excursion, order breakfast in advance, because even then they freeze at the reception, but still reluctantly give it. In general, Russians and Ukrainians in the hotel are 80%, so get acquainted and communicate. It's boring in the evenings, at 21:30 there is some kind of performance where camaras gnaw terribly, even through clothes, and then there is nothing but boom boom in the bar.
Sri Lanka in general impressions costs no more than $ 1t per person, regardless of the hotel 3 *, 4 * or 5 *. And I say this not from the point of view of harmfulness, but from the point of view of a traveler who has traveled a lot of countries and hotels of completely different categories. It is not dirty, there is no unsanitary conditions, but very good nature and a great beach holiday, except for terrible waves. Who needs movement you are not in this country.
