I chose the hotel myself, because I was interested in this particular beach. Check-in and check-out at the hotel went smoothly. The room was good, but due to the specifics of Sri Lanka, there were a lot of all sorts of insects. Here it is in the order of things.
Near the hotel you could find shops and restaurants, just anything you want. During the entire holiday in the pool, I did not swim, I stayed on the beach all the time. The hotel does not have its own beach as such, you could only sit there and look at the ocean. And if you swim, you had to go left or right.
The staff here is very responsive. I can't comment on food as I didn't eat at the hotel.
