There was an ordinary tea factory, of which there are many in Nuwara Eliya, but apparently something went wrong with the profitability of the owners, and in 1996 a chic hotel was set up in the factory building. It is chic, first of all, with its views of tea plantations and the surrounding nature. Already at the entrance to the hotel there are warning signs everywhere that hares, hedgehogs and other animals can cross the road.
The standard rooms here, of course, are not as spacious as in other hotels in Sri Lanka, but the owners have tried to preserve the flavor of the factory to the maximum. Upon check-in, they are treated not to a standard soft drink, but to hot spiced tea (they also give the recipe as a gift). There is a spa, it is especially pleasant that for me they were delayed with closing for an hour, although they were already scheduled for the whole evening. A hot oil massage is what you need in Nuwara Eliya's cold weather.
There is a heater in the rooms, but it doesn't really help, it's still cool in the morning. For the first time in Sri Lanka, I decided to drink tea for breakfast, because my conscience did not allow me to drink coffee at the former tea factory))).

The hotel is good, but you need to be aware that there is no civilization around, there is nothing to do except for walks and relaxation. To the city to go kilometers 10-12.
