I was on tour with my wife before the New Year. I really liked the hotel. Although it is 4 *, but the experience for all 5. The rooms are excellent. Cleaned up every day. Change towels, make beds, bring bottled water. There is a swimming pool, but in a nearby hotel. Before it is somewhere a kilometer, they carry it for free on a tuktuk.

There is a swimming pool, but in a nearby hotel. Before it is somewhere a kilometer, they carry it for free on a tuktuk.
Unfortunately there are no shops or restaurants nearby. To visit them you need to go to the city by tuktuk (about 10 km) - locals charge 700-1000 rupees ($ 6-8) for this. If you order a tuktuk from the reception, it will cost 50 rupees per kilometer.
To buy inexpensive souvenirs or tea, it is better to go to the supermarket, and in several. Usually tuktuk drivers have a percentage, so they drive to rather expensive shops.
Local fishermen go to the beach - they offer excursions at rather inflated prices, so it's better to travel around the country with a tour operator.
Went for an Ayurvedic full body massage. 1 hour costs 1500 rupees ($ 12) - I liked it very much.
From excursions we go to Kandy. Interesting, albeit boring. (Almost a day on the road). The cost is $65 per person. (Tea factory, elephant nursery, tea plantations, royal botanical garden, Buddha's Tooth temple, spice garden).
It is better not to buy Ayurvedic preparations in tourist places - very expensive (5-10 times more expensive). It is much cheaper to buy in the city in pharmacies or small shops.

First time in Sri Lanka. Let's make a reservation right away about what a vacation should be in our understanding (not everyone has such an approach): the sea is nearby, the sand, the absence of people, animation, noise, good food and nature. We got all this at the hotel. The hotel is small - only 7 rooms.

We had a deluxe - under the roof, with a spiral staircase (we precipitated when the little boys from the hotel tried to drag our huge suitcase into the room. We didn’t let them take it down - it was a painfully terrible sight : ))))) Veranda goes out to the ocean. In other rooms, it seems to us, a little worse - the situation is the same, but the windows of the room, although they overlook the ocean, open onto the veranda, that is, fresh air does not enter the room. This, in our opinion, is a minus. All rooms have air conditioning, kettle, water, tea. Hot water is intermittent (runs in portions), but we were not upset. The room was cleaned twice a day. The staff is very polite, we communicated with them quite actively, although they know only a couple of Russian words, and we - a couple of English. When we were at the hotel, there was no one else there. Tourists who came from the mainland spent the night a couple of times and that's it. . In the end, however, two youngsters from Russia arrived, who considered it their duty to lie down on sun loungers near our table, drink wine from duty free and listen to loud rap. But it only lasted two days. And such degenerates can be found in all resorts. Then they went on a tour, and we left. The sea - with waves, it rained for three days. The beach -= used to be dirty (garbage splashed out of the ocean). By the way, the hotel does not have a beach. There is a river bed, and then a strip of beach. Therefore, sun loungers were not put up there (they would have simply been washed away). Fruit is cheap and plentiful. We went to the neighboring village by tuk-tuk (for 500 rupees). The food is superb. They took breakfast and dinner, it was enough even without lunch, especially since there was tea and coffee in the room. Once we went on an excursion to Kandy - a complete divorce, they actually carry it where we have to buy something. Well, at least they rode an elephant : ))))) There is no pool at the hotel. In general, I liked everything. first place. where we want to return, but now in the season.

Boutique hotel, only seven rooms. Large halls, everything is beautiful. The staff is friendly and so on. I went with my daughter, everyone was satisfied. The hotel area is small - clean, cozy. You go beyond the white fence - and the whole ocean with endless beaches - is yours. On the first evening, they saw a turtle digging a hole to lay eggs.

I went with my daughter, everyone was satisfied.
The hotel area is small - clean, cozy. You go beyond the white fence - and the whole ocean with endless beaches - is yours. On the first evening, they saw a turtle digging a hole to lay eggs.
But the ocean here is mostly stormy, and as far as I understand almost always, so do not swim. The daughter hung happily by the shore. Sometimes we went swimming in a nearby bay - there were the smallest waves - the place is just incredibly beautiful.
For me, the hotel had three disadvantages. The first is the lack of a swimming pool. But it is planned to be built, it seems, even this year. Another building has already been built near the hotel - a restaurant on the ground floor, billiards and other entertainment on the other. But it still didn't work (except billiards)
Another disadvantage - they have to chase the chef around the neck. Such a four-star chef is not good.
After the Pigeon Island Hotel on the other side of Sri Lanka (the hotel is just a fairy tale), I was waiting for culinary wonders and masterpieces. No, I will not say that it was small and tasteless, besides, I am unpretentious. It was very tasty, but boring. Well, except that the stingray pleased, and the yogurt dessert with buffalo milk. We ate quickly, although we ate slowly, relaxing against the beautiful terrace and the ocean, and we lost a lot on our plates. So the chef complained to us manager. He ran and began to question; feeding what to cook and so on)
The third minus - in the room there is actually no place to dry things. I asked the manager to do something about it, but it all ended up with wet T-shirts hanging on chairs under the air conditioner.
Rooms are beautiful, I wanted to take the bathroom with me)

Boutique hotel with 7 rooms. To the sea 150 meters. Rooms are spacious, not big. Interesting decoration of the rooms and the building itself - in the colonial style. wi-fi is free everywhere. To the right is a river (or lake). The food is not very varied. Expensive for your money. There is nowhere to go outside the hotel - only the houses of the locals.
