I want to share my impressions of a hotel in Colombo called Galadari. The hotel had both pluses and minuses. Perhaps my impression was still not so positive due to fatigue due to a ten hour flight. Let's move on to the advantages - The hotel is located very well, one might say on the first line, since there is only a road between the hotel and the ocean. From the window of our room there was a wonderful view of the country's administration building and the Indian Ocean. There was even a sign on the window glass in our room that photography was prohibited, since it was possible to observe the arrival or even the arrival by helicopter of the country's president : ) And I can say that we chose between the Hilton and Galadari hotels, but due to the fact that in Hilton, all rooms were occupied at that time, the choice fell on Galadari. And we did not lose, since the Hilton is further down the street and the view from it is not the ocean as in Galadari. We noticed another plus immediately upon arrival - since our plane arrived at about three or four in the morning, we were already at the doorstep of the hotel at seven o'clock and, most surprisingly, we were immediately settled, despite the fact that the check-in time was later . And the most important advantage of the hotel, according to my husband, is a very varied buffet for dinner.
Let's move on to the negatives - the first negative that I did not like is that the hotel's rooms are outdated, which makes the room seem not very clean. The second minus is the intrusive staff, I will explain why - after the road I was very tired and hungry, and my husband decided to go in search of food, and at that time I decided to sleep. I hear a knock on the door, I open it, a hotel employee is standing on the threshold and offers to clean the room. I explain to him that we have just moved in and we do not need room cleaning. I close the door and go to bed. And after some time I hear some sounds, I open my eyes, and the hotel staff has already entered the room. I start to get nervous and tell them to leave, that they don’t need to be cleaned. They nod with cute faces and leave smiling. I think, well, finally, we understand. Soon my husband came and I finally calmed down and decided to fall asleep, but before that I hung up a DO NOT DISTURB sign and closed the door with a chain. While my husband was in the shower, I slept peacefully and suddenly I hear that the chain twitched. I was just FUCKING. Maybe, of course, I shouldn’t have been so angry with these lovely people, but I really wanted to sleep and I didn’t want to see the staff in the room. With screams, I ask my husband to ask them to leave, and only after that they calmed down. So I can say that for one night the hotel is quite suitable, but some nuances can overshadow the stay.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2006. By and large, there is nothing special to say, except that I really liked everything. Room, service, restaurants, bars, food - all on top. Smoking and non-smoking rooms. The hotel has everything for a good time - tennis court, gym, swimming pool, massage, interesting bars, tea shop.

It is located (as I later found out) in the business center of Colombo, although if this is the center, then you can imagine what outskirts are there : ). However, the whole of Sri Lanka looks something like this, you just need to ignore all that devastation and poverty. I give the hotel a solid five, if anyone wants to stay there, you will not regret it. When I was there, the hotel was preparing for Christmas, so the corresponding theme in the photos.
