Hotel rating:
For a solid two.
Service - 5, always ask if everything suits.
Cleaning - 3 with a "-" (the cobwebs are not removed between the chairs, you need to ask for soap as needed), but the Sri Lankans themselves are not clean people. Maybe they clean as they see fit, normal ..
Location - 5. Although far from the airport, not as much entertainment as in Hikkaduwa (for example) and the nearest shop is 2 km away, it is quiet and there are few tourists. The beaches are free, at least run naked. In Hikkaduwa, there is nowhere for an apple to fall.
Comfort - 3.
Cons - on arrival shock from dampness in the bathroom, peeled plumbing, dust and cobwebs. Then you try not to notice. Take skin antiseptic, flip flops in the shower. Fungi and other things are in abundance here.
Pros: there is a massage center (2000 rupees.
1 hour of the whole body), warm pool (cleaned every morning), bar, not bad Wi-Fi in the lobby for free, hotel right on the beach.
In addition, I’ll write what you might encounter when leaving the hotel:
Firstly, if you are interested in where you can eat, I recommend a beach bar, where, without any spices and spiciness, they will cook fresh fish at a normal price. WE ate our entire stay there. A huge plus is that it is within walking distance (get off to the right metro 300, cross the Fortness hotel and on the beach you will find a bar right next to the playground)
Secondly, I highly DO NOT recommend taking anything and generally communicating with beach-boys, of which there are a lot of accumulated at the exit to the beach. As your skin becomes lighter, he already counts in his mind how much money he can cut down from you. In short, in our own skin, we understood:
1. The price for excursions is the same as for hotel guides (only at times it will not be of high quality).
2.
They will charge you 200% more overpayment for the same shrimp that their moms / dads / brothers supposedly cook in the bar that I wrote the price below and the side dish is included : )
3. And the third, no less important. They offer excursions, in particular on Lake Koggala, but in fact this is a detour around the islands of shops for your own money + part of the sale goes to beach-boys.
Draw conclusions and THINK.
The question arose about the extraction of water, as it turned out there was nowhere to buy it nearby! The reviews of vacationers came to the rescue and we went to look for beach fights. We were pleasantly surprised by their attitude towards us, they turned out to be wonderful guys, a huge hello to them from (mom, dad), and specifically this is Amila, Denis, Suraj and all the guys who were taking off and helping us, many thanks to them !! ! . The guys turned out to be our saviors and after half an hour we could eat and drink tea, they brought us water and fruits for little money, in short, everything we needed at that time was. In the future, they were also guides for us, because we did not see our guide Maria for 10 days and she did not answer calls. Why does a tour operator Join-up pay money to a person? With excursions and trips to nearby towns, we were also helped by the same guys who speak Russian, unlike the hotel workers. More about the flight, as already above, I indicated the operator from which we flew and the carrier company UIA everything went well without delay and we were fed 2 times on the plane, so we put a huge +++ on the operator and UIA. We concluded for ourselves that there is no need to be afraid of beach-fights, take off our vacation was excellent for little money. Hello again Amila, Denis, Suraj and everyone else, unfortunately, their names could not be remembered (mother, father) Belarus (Gomel). Have a good holiday everyone! ! If my review is useful to someone, I will be glad!
Upon arrival, we contacted via "viber" with the local Russian-speaking guide Mano, who organized excursions for us, helped to buy a local SIM card for almost half the price and generally helped in every possible way, even cooked coral fish baked on coals for us (extraordinary taste). And he did it as a gift for us. For which many thanks to him.
The country itself left a good impression and a great desire to come again.
We went to see the island. We went on 3 excursions: kandi- nuwara eliya, sigiriya and safari in the national park Udvalave. Everyone ordered through a guide, because buying tours, especially long ones, through the scourge of battles and tukers is suicide. Beach fights are just criminal elements - they saw a fight on the beach with their own eyes. Phones and sunglasses were stolen from neighbors right on the beach. And to go through them. . . Well, I wouldn't risk it. They lure customers with cheap shrimp, from which food poisoning later occurs. We were satisfied with the organization of the tours - historical guides, good transport, adequate drivers
The ocean is simply incomparable, warm, clean. We had great fun!
On the beach, on the first day, we met Denis, a beach boy, and from the reviews we already knew him in absentia. We are delighted with this country and all thanks to Denis, because He accompanied us everywhere and we saw a lot of interesting things with him. Excursions were also taken from him, we all really liked it (we had a good company). We went to the lake, to Galle, to Unawatuna and the most vivid impressions were from the 2-day excursion Kandy + Ella. We spent the night in a hotel in the mountains, the food was delicious and plentiful)))). The guy is unobtrusive, very cheerful, kind. I recommend you will be satisfied. Our vacation was a success thanks to him.
Only positive emotions remained from this country. Would I come back here? Of course! Choose boldly this hotel, its money is worth it. Good location, few people on the beach.
