I'll immediately introduce you to the hotel - Yala, a kind of eco-hotel, which is very careful about the environment and the use of natural resources. The hotel is located on the territory of the national reserve and has no fences, which allows wild animals to periodically delight hotel guests with their presence. But also the location of the hotel does not allow you to go beyond it, since it takes 20-30 minutes to drive to the nearest settlement and to grocery stores too. Near and on the territory of the hotel there are many jeeps that will take you to a safari for a contractual fee and, if necessary, to the city. The only and most important entertainment here is a safari in the national reserve. On the day of arrival, the hotel staff warned us that before dinner we needed to call the reception and invite a guide, as wild animals often appear on the territory of the hotel in the evening. We were lucky to see a wild elephant, which just a couple of meters from us was eating a bush of greenery near someone's house : ) And in the afternoon, the regular guests of the hotel were flocks of wild boars, which are fed by the hotel staff. They are harmless, but I do not recommend feeding them yourself, as they have sharp fangs and can injure you. My husband was not lucky, because the boar hurt him in this way and we had to go to the nearest hospital and get prophylactic injections. So don't repeat our mistakes. Separately, I want to note the apartments - throughout the territory there are separate bungalows, decorated in a natural style. We really liked the eco-design of the bungalow. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were served in a separate building and outdoor terrace. The food is also ok. It should be noted the beautiful evening illumination of the pool, which makes evening swimming special. You can go on a safari early in the morning and in the evening. Locals say that morning safaris are more successful when you can see rare animals, but we went in the evening and luck smiled at us, as we saw a handsome leopard, a bear, wild elephants and many more wonderful animals. So, when to go on a safari is up to you. I recommend staying at the hotel for 2-3 days no more, so that you can go on a safari again, if suddenly you are not lucky the first time.
