The hotel is excellent. We lived in the hotel for about three weeks and during this time the attitude towards us was as helpful as possible and at the same time not intrusive. All our wishes were fulfilled completely and very quickly. Rooms: it so happened that we lived in two rooms (in the first room, cracks began to appear on the door glass and we were asked to move, but more on that later), plus the eldest daughter lived in a separate room.

All rooms were on the third floor if you count reception first. One of the rooms had a large balcony, but not a glass wall, which spoiled the ocean view from the room. All. There are no more minuses in the room, except for the fact that the door to the bathroom is glass and the blinds have to be lowered every time with your hands ??? ? . Water and milk in the room were left to us in any requested quantities. Towels and linen are changed daily, plus on demand.
The fact that the glass cracked in the room was found out on the beach, they apologized to us 1000 times, asked to change the room.
Things were transferred without our participation, except for the safe, of course. So we didn't feel any anxiety about moving. Things were laid out exactly in their places.
Food: excellent, we were pleasantly surprised by breakfasts and dinners a la carte. Always delicious, more than enough to fill you up. Seafood - 6 times a week. If they asked to cook something for the child (cutlets without spices, for example) - they always got what they wanted. In addition, you can always take fruits and coffee with you to the beach. Moreover, fruits will also be packaged.
Beach and ocean: the territory of the hotel is tiny, but this did not bother us. If someone needs to walk with a stroller, then this is not in Hikkaduwa. There are enough beds for everyone. Not always in the place where we would like, but enough. The guys on the beach and the pool did everything to make our vacation even more carefree and calm. Thanks a lot to them. Towels are changed as soon as you call.
Young children, whether they can swim or not, are not allowed to swim in front of the hotel. The first 10 days the ocean was very stormy. The last week of our stay swam in front of the hotel, but without the youngest. You can swim with a child if you walk 10-15 minutes to the right from the hotel along the beach to the Ritas hotel. A little further behind it, in front of the Moon beam hotel, part of the ocean is fenced off by the remains of a reef, there are absolutely no waves and kids can swim. This does not apply to the time when there was a strong storm.
Further to the right, the beach of the Hikka tras hotel always has no waves, next to a reef with sea turtles. They always sail. We were lucky, we swam on the beach with them, and not only saw them on the reef. You cannot touch them. If you walk along the beach, you pass by the remnants of the reef - there are many Suren, hedgehogs and fish. But with a child, at least in one direction, it is better to take a tuk tuk.
There is a supermarket (200 rupees on a tuk tuk) and a fruit market (250 rupees).
Excursions: went to Yalla Park on a safari.
We liked. Booked at the hotel reception. Paid for a hotel car, jeep and park tickets $210-220 for 3 adults and a child. The guide offered the same for $450. We left at 10 am at 22.00 were at the hotel. Dinner was already over, but we were still invited to the restaurant and fully served.
We also took a tuk-tuk to Unawatuna. Our beach is definitely prettier, but the waves are bigger. The Galle were passing on the road to Unawatuna. We saw the fortress. Specially would not go to see.
In general, this is our second time in Sri Lanka and we looked at all the main tourist places on our first visit.
Four days before departure, the youngest fell ill. With a very high temperature. The hotel staff became even more attentive and helpful to us, although it seemed that it was "aerobatics" anyway. The doctor was called through the reception for a day, as promised, put on his feet.
Memories of the rest in this hotel are only wonderful. We can safely recommend both couples and families with children.
We were delighted and glad that we chose this hotel.
Thanks to all the staff for our wonderful holiday.
