The time difference in summer is +2 and a half hours in Sri Lanka. We considered GOA and Egypt for October, and suddenly on these dates and with food HB Lanka was cheaper from TPG for booking until October 20, we decided “We must take it ! ! ! ".
We were brought to the hotel at 9 am, met with wet towels, offered to have breakfast, and within an hour were settled in the room, with a smile and without a hint to pay.
On the territory of the hotel it is forbidden to drink alcoholic drinks bought outside the hotel, we drank in the room, leaving the bottles in the trash, sometimes they took them out to the tank near the sunbeds, there were no complaints against us.

WIFI. There is INTERNET at the reception, but very weak. In the morning at 7 o'clock the Internet is a normal signal, but in Ukraine this time is 4 hours 30 minutes, you don’t really communicate with friends and relatives.

HOTEL and NEARBY - the first line of Lanka Supercorals from operators 3 * and 2 *, on the spot we did not understand how many stars.
The hotel staff responded to our requests and tried to fulfill everything (there was a problem with sewerage, air conditioning .... ) The territory is small, well-groomed. The pool around it is tile, grass, several trees run chipmunks under which sun loungers are located, coconut palms are inclined to the ocean, then a fence made of mesh a few steps and you are in the ocean, after walking 300 meters along the beach to the right, the Hikka Trans hotel former Chaaya Tranz Hikkaduwa 4 * now- Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon 5* with turtles. Opposite the hotel there is a Sandagiri Food City supermarket and a wine market, there are many small shops, shops and exchangers nearby where the exchange rate is higher than at the airport, Western is to the right of the supermarket 1 $ = 140 LKR. Leaving the hotel on the left side, walk for about 15 minutes there will be a fruit market, a lilac building, near it there are fish points, opposite the market there is a supermarket, a pharmacy, a bus station and a railway station. d. station.
I rate the hotel at 2 * stars for - stale red bedding, very poorly working air conditioners, torn beach towels, 30% broken sunbeds by the pool, not always clean tablecloths in the restaurant, dishes were not cleaned from the table at the right time.
Of the living creatures in the room, we saw small ants, they both came and left on the second day, then two large cockroaches came to the balcony, and one night a gecko was sitting above the closet. On the territory of the hotel we saw a lot of tame chipmunks, small and slightly larger monitor lizards, crows and other birds. Mosquitoes after sunset on the street bit quite actively, we took a spray bottle on the body and a fumigator in the room.

ROOM - paid without a sea view. First they settled on the 3rd floor at No. 340 with an ocean view of about 30 sq. meters, but after 2 days the air conditioner stopped cooling and we asked to fix it, and we were offered to move to the 4th floor at No. 488 overlooking the yard-road in slightly better conditions 32 sq. meters.
The room has a small refrigerator, an old air conditioner, a tea set, a 40" plasma TV, 4 chairs, 2 bedside tables, a small wardrobe with 6 trempels and a mirror. Large bed, 2 small pillows. In the bathroom, 1 towel per person and 1 on the floor, a bar of soap and a bathing cap. There is no shampoo. Shower with a curtain, in some rooms there is a glass partition between the shower and the toilet. Boiler for 10 liters, so there were no interruptions in hot water. Balcony with clothes dryer. Bed linen wants to be the best (red with stains).
FOOD - our tour paid for HB half board, tea, coffee and milk could be drunk in the restaurant in the morning and at dinner too! In the restaurant you need to take a table according to the room number! ! ! Breakfast is quite normal, but every day the same thing - scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, sausages, pasta or potatoes, spicy chicken, vegetables, bananas and papaya, juice.
Larger dinners, potatoes, pasta, rice, fish and chicken were always very small pieces and heavily fried, pork and beef in gravy, three spicy dishes but plenty to choose from and not so spicy, eggplant vegetables. The sweets included pudding, jelly, fruit salad and battered bananas. Squid and shrimp were never given (we bought 1000 rupees 1 kg of large shrimp in the market, poured boiling water three times and enjoyed it, or you can cook in a cafe for 400 rupees for 1 kg work and add vegetables).
POOL - there is, small with different depths from 50 cm to 2 meters, they are cleaned every day, disinfected with a tablet, there is little smell of bleach, you can swim late in the evening. There were no irritations on the body. Towels can be taken and changed, albeit every hour, very washed out.
BEACH - public in Lanka, near the hotel there is a small lagoon, at low tide the depth is 90cm. , and at high tide 1 meter 40 cm.

Yes, it’s primitive, you can’t swim fast, but on the other hand, clean water and a few fish swim, there is also a small tiger moray eel. A big wave does not reach the shore, because it breaks on corals 70 meters from the shore. You can go to the beach near the Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon hotel, the former Chaaya Trans, where four large turtles constantly play with people on the cape, but this time the beach was washed away by a stream of water - the river from the village overflows from the rains and flows into the ocean. We walked along Hikkaduwa deep away from the coast and saw how much dirt and muck in this river, all the garbage is caught in the mangroves and just dirty water flows into the ocean. You can walk a little further towards the market to the boats and swim there on small waves at Dolphin and Smak.
WEATHER IN OCTOBER - from October 11 to October 21.2015 it rained every day, mostly in the afternoon and not for very long, it didn’t bother us at all and the rain didn’t interfere with enjoying our vacation, going on excursions and all over the country.
SHOPPING - Of course, TEA! ! ! We bought tea at the factory for 1800 rupees per kg, we took both Orange Pekoe and small BOP and BOPF fragrant and liked everything. Also in the supermarket they bought Mlesna tea Mlesna 570 rupees a pack of 250 grams, it is plantation and also of good quality. We also bought Arak Black 1200 rupees 0.75l. and White with Lemon, as well as Calypso Red Rum 1750 rupees 0.75l. . Spices bought in small shops by weight and in supermarkets packaging, black peppercorns 1600 rupees 1kg. Fruits - pineapple 170 rupees, its weight was 2 kg, several types of mango from 150 rupees to 350 rupees per 1 kg. Passion fruit 2 types sour round 150 rupees 1kg, and oval sweet 300 rupees 1kg.
During our holiday, the rate was 1 $ = 140 LKR (Sri Lankan rupees).
EXCURSIONS - taken in Dolphin from Emeli.
$ 210 for 4 people with entrance tickets one-day to the Golden Buddha, Dambulla Cave Temple - consists of five caves, each of them has its own name and its own distinctive features: Devarajalena, Maharajalena, Maha Alut Viharaya, Pachchima Viharaya, Devana Alut Viharaya, the first caves Dambulla temples were founded in the 1st century BC, along the way a pineapple plantation, elephant riding, a tea factory in Kandy. Excursion from 3 o'clock in the morning and returned to the hotel at 22.00, ordered the evening before breakfast to go and dinner in the room. We also took a regular bus to Galle and walked around the Fort and around Halle.

In Hikkaduwa itself, we walked along the streets and saw 4 Temples. The most beautiful with frescoes is the Gangarama Maha Vihara Temple, aka Jananadha ramaya. You can reach it from the bus station along the road deep into 200 meters, carefully read the signs along the road and a little to the right. Opposite the hotel Hikka Trans in the street 50 meters temple- Susilachara Temple.
In Hikkaduwa you can see and everything is not far at all -
• Hikkaduwa National Park- This is a marine coral park-beach
• Mines of precious stones - a breeding ground for tourists to buy stones
• Seenigama Vihara Temple - The temple is located on a small island 100 meters from the shore and can only be reached by boat. This is one of two temples in Sri Lanka where robbery victims can ask the higher powers for retribution.
• Naga Vihara Temple
• Temple Gangarama Maha Vihara- Jananandaramaya Temple (Hikkaduwa) is very impressive with colorful frescoes
• Monument to the Victims of the Tsunami - Buddha Statue, Monument to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. 30 meter Buddha statue.
• Telwatta Tsunami Photo Museum
• Jayanthi Viharaya Temple
• Turtle Farm

The TOUR was taken from the Tour Operator TPG, the cost was the lowest for them. Everything went according to plan, with no complaints. Air carrier Air Arabia (Air Arabia) with a transfer in Sharjah. The plane was from Kyiv to Sharjah 5 hours 30 minutes, there between flights a little more than 2 hours and from Sharjah to Colombo 5 hours.
The meeting side of Tangerine Tours changed the bus to the hotel and back to the airport, changed seats and we drove for about 5 hours, registration had already begun. It took us 23 hours to get from home to the hotel.
VISA - we issued upon arrival in Colombo, quickly without filling out any forms. A couple of people in line, they submitted their passports, gave us $35 per person, stuck stamps on us, and off we went. Even at home, I tried to apply for a visa on the site, I filled out everything correctly and a bank card and everything, but the pay button did not work.
On the plane from Sharjah to Colombo, they gave us migration cards, we calmly and slowly filled them out.
We watched everything planned, the program was completed, there are a lot of impressions, especially good emotions from chipmunks, monitor lizards, elephants and large turtles!
