Just got back from a trip yesterday. Everything was great!! ! !
The location of the hotel is very good, the ocean is calm there. Thanks to the reefs, the waves break, and already near the shore you can safely swim. Small in some places. We even went swimming every night.
I didn’t even want to think about the pool (unlike other hotels)
A 10-minute walk was the bus station and railway station and a fruit market and a liquor store. Rum is really great!
The weather was more or less normal, rainy, but a couple of days captured the sun.
There are many impressions, we rode public transport to the southernmost point of Sri Lanka. And they took a 2-day excursion to Kandy and the mountains, but not from Join up, as another couple from Ukraine went with them and were terribly disappointed. We booked directly at the hotel. At the reception, a nice, neat guy Sanji works as a manager from 15.00 to 22.00. Approximately 27-30 years old.

He speaks very good English, and he helped us a lot with advice and organization of excursions.
At first, we did not want to take excursions at the hotel, thinking that it would be more expensive there. But having gone around all the agencies, and having talked with the scourge fights, we came to the conclusion that you want to be sure that you will not be thrown and brought to the wrong elephant nursery or will not be shown everything. With all the smiles of the Sri Lankans, most want to deceive you and make money from you. So at first we almost went to the wrong Lagoon, and not to the big turtle farm.
It's good that after talking with Sanji on the eve of the tour, I found out exactly where to go in order to get the most impressions, and not the feeling that you were swindled like suckers.
And it turns out he was right, as when asking other tourists from our hotel, they really were taken to the wrong place, and therefore many spat.
I asked Sanji to organize a tour of the Laguna, the turtles, and the spice garden for us first.
We liked everything, and then at the end of our holiday, we asked him to make a rich two-day program in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. He thought everything through to the smallest detail, calculated all the costs completely, so that we didn’t have to pay extra for anything anywhere else. It was nice. We agreed on the price right away and knew what to expect. For 2 days of a very busy program, we paid 290 + 40 (hotel) bucks for 2 (for 4 it would be cheaper to take a car, but alas, we did not find companions) Everything was well organized. And we do not regret at all that we spent a lot of money on such impressions. We were at the state elephant sanctuary just as over 30 elephants are taken out to bathe in the river. This is a grand spectacle!
For a walk through the Botanical Garden in Kandy, we had 3 hours of time (and there is something to see, and even 3 hours is not enough).

After we checked into a hotel, showered, changed clothes to long sleeves and trousers (because we went to the temple in the evening) and went to a traditional performance: dancing in national costumes, with elements of acrobatics and even walking on hot coals.
After we went to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. In the night illumination it is majestic. There, a guide who spoke Russian was waiting for us, and he took us through the entire territory, and led us to the place where the sarcophagus with the tooth is stored at exactly the time when the doors open and you can see closer the casket in gold and decoration in which the tooth is located.
After the temple, we walked for 2 hours in Kandy at night, found a local restaurant with delicious seafood soup. By the way, we always went to dinner in local cafes, where only Sri Lankans sit. There you can order dishes not spicy, everything is very tasty, the portions are large and most importantly not expensive. On average, for two of us, dinner cost up to 1000 rupees (this is about 160 UAH).
And the next day, right after breakfast, we went to the mountains, climbed the serpentine to a height of 1896m above sea level, took pictures of magnificent tea plantations, swam in a waterfall, visited a tea factory, bought delicious vegetables and fruits along the way. We ate pineapples on a pineapple plantation, and by the evening of the second day we returned to the hotel. It was unforgettable!
It was 10 days in Paradise! ! !

P. S. Say hello to Sanji from Julia in Ukraine.
