The country is amazing!! ! Rest in it is wonderful, unforgettable. For brains, a complete reboot!! ! Exotic, lush vegetation, scenic area, stunning ocean, peaceful atmosphere - what could be better for a comfortable stay?
We went with a family with a nine-year-old daughter, in October 2013. A three-day excursion tour (individual-only our family) and 7 days on the coast. Excursion-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya + Valley of Waterfalls. We rode an elephant (the elephant was called Tekiri, in my opinion the coolest elephant in all of Sri Lanka), we saw a spice garden, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a jewelry and tea factory, a batik factory. Along the way, we stopped at a textile shopping center, where we could take pictures in national costumes. We visited the Royal Boat Garden in Paradenia - very impressed. On the way to Nuwara Eliya, through the valley of waterfalls, we could see endless high-altitude tea plantations with tea factories. We saw a lot of waterfalls and waterfalls along the way and of different sizes. We spent the night in the mountains in the jungle at the waterfall-hotel Royal River in Kitulgala. Fabulous place!! ! Only 4 rooms in the hotel, the rooms offer an unforgettable view of the waterfall. The hotel itself is surrounded by impenetrable jungle. The memory is simply breathtaking! Exotic vegetation - creepers hanging from trees, crotons, spathiphyllums, anthuriums, palm trees, ferns, bamboo... The sound of a waterfall, a mountain river... It's incredible that somewhere there is such a place !!!
On the coast, we chose the hotel CHAAYA TRANZ HIKKADUWA 4 *. The hotel is just a fairy tale. Small, cozy area, great service, spacious comfortable rooms (all with ocean views). The hotel has a very comfortable lagoon where you can swim, there is almost no current. Turtles come to the beach every day - Monica and Rossi. This is another exotic highlight of the hotel. The food is just amazing!! ! Really GREAT selection, excellent execution. I will not list everything, but according to the reviews of tourists vacationing at the same time as us, the restaurant was simply amazing (even in comparison with Turkish-Egyptian premium restaurants !!! ). We only had breakfast. We deliberately did not take dinner, fearing that the hotel would not have enough seafood - you still have to go to local city restaurants for dinner. But in this hotel you can safely take breakfast and dinner, because for dinner there is a very rich selection of seafood, there is no need to go anywhere. There are no complaints about the quality of food at all - JUST SUPER!!!

Daily cleaning of the room, high-quality with the replacement of towels, bed linen, mopping. Well done guys, they tried very hard))) The number of rooms at the hotel is beyond praise, the rooms are comfortable, spacious, equipped. WI-FI FOR FREE!!!
We are very grateful to everyone who organized this trip and accompanied us. The host is Ceylon Best Holiday. Our guide's name was Rouen. A very pleasant young man. He speaks excellent Russian. He told us a lot of interesting facts during our stay on excursions, took 1000 family photos against the backdrop of local attractions and tried his best to make our stay as comfortable and eventful as possible. Since we had an individual tour, we ourselves could adjust the route along the way, decide for ourselves where to stay, where to stay for how long. Very comfortably! Having heard enough stories that it’s not worth buying anything on excursions, I didn’t buy anything, relying on the coast. But - whether it was the merit of our guide (that he brought us to inexpensive and high-quality shopping centers), or there was simply nothing worthwhile on the coast, but then I really regretted both silk scarves and tea. By the way, our guide Rouen also taught us to drink tea - 3 cups of Ceylon tea at a time, always with milk (like the English colonizers).
This trip for our family was the brightest. Boundless ocean, stunning sunsets, lush greenery washed with tropical downpours, inviting jungle. A very friendly and open population of the country... The country of Sri Lanka is so multifaceted and interesting that I am sure that it will not leave anyone indifferent. But you need to go to it with a clear intention to be imbued to the depths of the soul with the atmosphere that reigns there. It is not like other exotic countries, it is what it is. And that is why she is amazing and unique!
