The wonderful island of Ceylon!
Hello dear readers : ) We just returned from Sri Lanka and want to share our impressions, maybe this information will be useful to someone. We rested at the Palms hotel, were pleasantly surprised that there were about 60% Ukrainians there, all the rest were foreigners (we met Russians only on excursions! ) We are already experienced tourists in Asia, but we discovered a lot of new things in Sri Lanka. My husband caught stingrays several times right from the shore, then they cooked them in a restaurant, it's such a yummy! We sailed on a boat on the river in the jungle, saw many exotic animals. In general, be prepared for the fact that monitor lizards will surround you everywhere, even on the territory of the hotel, and there are also many biting mosquitoes there! The water in the ocean was cloudy, but very warm, as they have the rainy season until December. It is better to go from December to April if you want to swim in the beautiful ocean. It is also worth mentioning the fabulous sunsets, this can only be seen in Asia : )
Ate in the cafe "Podsolnukh", near the hotel. Everything was always fresh and tasty. When you go to this island, do not count on cheap Asia, there are no balloons there and never will be, for example, a meal for two with seafood $ 30, something modest $ 20, fruits there are also not cheap, in general, they are artificially overpriced everywhere prices for tourists even though the country itself is poor! Who smokes, take cigarettes with you, because they are very expensive there. If you take presents for the locals, then the Sri Lankans love: chocolate, cigarettes, our vodka. Excursions were all organized by our Sri Lankan friend named Indiko, whom we met on the beach. Everything was very cool, everywhere we went by tuk-tuk to the local cheerful music. We were also in Galle, a wonderful old port, where a delightful panorama for a photo opens up. On the way to Galle, we stopped at a Buddhist temple, a turtle farm, a silk factory, a chic restaurant where you can taste fresh seafood. Who will rest in the Palms we recommend Indiko to everyone, a cheerful, decent guy, it is easy to recognize him, he is about 2 meters tall. I am also very grateful to fate for my vacation in Sri Lanka, because there I cured my allergy (I could not breathe without drops, not a single doctor could help me in Ukraine). We had an Ayurvedic clinic near the hotel, there is a doctor Nalaka, who helped me, he is very strong in many matters. Upon arrival at the airport, be careful not to change money there and do not buy SIM cards from these local scammers!! ! We wish you a good rest and pleasant impressions : )
