The hotel is very worthy, as by the standards of Sri Lanka. The staff is trying, fussing, cleaning at the level. The food is good, even in the off season, fruits, vegetables. Large selection of local cuisine, but you need a tinned stomach for it. In terms of service, they suffer a little. There is no animation, even the music does not play during the day. It's like that in all hotels. Shortage of ashtrays, three trash cans for the entire beach. Drinks are only at the bar and it is difficult to wait for the waiter. But otherwise I liked it, a big plus is the reef in front of the hotel - you can splash in the ocean, or go towards the river and jump on the waves. Every evening there is live music, several bands play and sing very well.
It is better to take local excursions from the locals, especially if you gather a company of 7-10 people. In general, the "waterfall" impressed me a little, but if you go with a company, the bus costs 120-150 bucks, not expensive. And so all the sights are far from Beruwala, except that it is interesting to walk along the river. It is very tiring to travel far because of the slowness of traffic.
