Laos. Beautiful Luang Prabang. Naughty elephant.
In my solo travels around the world, I often take risks by taking pictures with wildlife. Only in the photographs the animals are so kind, and what they have in mind alone, apparently, God knows. My critics write to me that the animals are not scary, and I exaggerate their danger, but at the same time, I did not see anyone particularly willing to go with them to rapprochement. Apparently, the saying works: "I'm not a coward, but I'm afraid. " Therefore, I do not recommend adventurous shots with animals. Even the most harmless animal can harm a person's health, and sometimes take his life. I always thought that the most harmless are elephants, because they are almost always next to a person. After this excursion, I learned that one of my acquaintances elephants trampled a tourist from England.
I decided to go on an excursion to the jungle, where there is a camp of elephants, and a settlement of several houses on the river bank.
We drove for about an hour on a terrible road. On the banks of the Mekong River there is a cafe, and with it elephants who rolled tourists. The place is very beautiful. Among the trees, I saw elephants tied with a chain by the foot to a tree. This is considered a holiday for them. After Thailand, I made a promise to myself that I would not sit on an elephant again, after I saw the rude attitude of the mahouts towards the elephants, who hit the elephants on the head with hooks until they bled. Moreover, it must be added here that he almost capsized along with the elephant into the ravine, where the elephant reached out with his trunk for juicy grass. Time has passed, everything is forgotten. Moreover, I examined my elephant and the driver, who had only a thin rod. It was evident that the elephant was well treated, only his eyes were sad. It is interesting to know if he ever wanted to run away into the jungle to his free brothers? Unfortunately, he will never tell. For almost two hours he rolled me through ditches, stones and forests.
I am surprised at how he skillfully bypassed stone boulders, pits. I walked along the narrow path. True, I dangled in an armchair, and miraculously did not fall from it. At the end of the journey, the mahout offered me to sit on the neck of an elephant. When I moved, I felt sorry for the elephant. His whole neck was worn, and at the ends of his large ears dangled shreds of skin. I wanted to stroke him, but on the skin there are hairs, like a hedgehog. Strongly prickly. I had to postpone tenderness for the elephant. After riding the elephants, we were given the opportunity to feed them with cut branches of young bamboo. Horror! How do elephant stomachs digest them? After all, bamboo is so strong that it can dig the ground, but we cannot understand elephants. They love him very much. I dedicate this photo session to my elephant, who patiently drove me.
It looks like a kind elephant, as he drove me through such wilds that I thought with fear that I would never get out of the jungle again.
How pretty, like a cat.
My chair fell over on its side several times, but I held on.
What to take from them? They need to feed their families, and life is temporary.
I will never go near elephants again. Enough of my exploits.
The beauty of Laos, although the borders are not visible at all. Play wherever you want.
How I trembled on the descents and ascents.
Someone might say that they are given injections, which is why they are so calm. How much liquid do they need?
I had lunch here.
They keep elephants in the jungle on thick chains. Fiends! ! ! I feel sorry for the elephants.
