So, in October 2014, we rested at the Sokha Beach Resort in Sihanoukville. Impressions were not very pleasant. There were two of us - my mother and me. Upon arrival, we were given a room on the 3rd floor. The smiling staff bowed and brought the suitcases. Everything was going great. We unpacked all things and all luggage. When I wanted to use the safe, it turned out that there was absolutely no instruction manual with it. I had to call an employee to demonstrate how to open and close this safe. Okay, we figured out the safe. We were about to leave the room and get to the city, when it suddenly turned out that our door lock did not work. We called the master. For 15 minutes no one came to us, even after another call to the reception, everyone was in parallel. As a result, I had to go to the lobby myself and demand a change of room. With sin in half, only after my request to connect me with the general manager, we were moved to an adequate room. Frankly speaking, the number did not pull on 5 stars. Standard layout and arrangement as in a 4-star hotel. In the room we have a tech shower in the shower. For a hotel positioning itself in the highest rating, I think this is not acceptable. Another negative point - the hotel DOES NOT HAVE A MEDICAL POINT. When I hurt my hand, I was helped by the staff near the pool, and at the reception they kindly and smilingly offered to take me to the hospital. Another minus one to the karma of the hotel. About the pool - I liked that there was absolutely no chlorine in the water. No smell, and the skin reacted adequately to the water. Beach. The beach is big and very beautiful. Light sand creaks underfoot... but the beach is dirty. There are cigarette butts, scraps and other rubbish lying around that are not cleaned. So the garbage on the beach is another mistake of this hotel. Usually in hotels where there is a beach, there are showers and stands for washing sand off your feet everywhere. In this hotel, only 2 showers were found near the pool and 3 more near the gym. To each of them from the beach to go and go. There is nowhere else to wash off the salt and sand, except to drag yourself into the room. Liked the gym. Compared to other hotels, there are many fitness equipment for every taste, all of them are in good condition. And a few words about food. Our program only included breakfast. . The selection is very limited! And every day they cook the same thing. No variety in stock. Again, when compared with other hotels in the same Cambodia (for example, City Hotel in Phnom Penh or Royal Angkor Resort, where the star rating is lower), there was the most miserable buffet. On the last day of our stay at Sokha Beach Resort, we saw a hefty cockroach right next to the displayed food - in the photo. How can you even allow a bastard to appear in the kitchen? The staff saw it themselves and only smiled sweetly. Complete unsanitary conditions, it’s scary to think in what conditions breakfasts are prepared... So, dear tourists, if you express a desire to visit Cambodia on the seas, think maybe you should look for a better hotel. Good luck with your travels!
