Travel to Cambodia from Pattaya
Resting in Pattaya, I decided not to deny myself the pleasure and go for 2 days to Cambodia from Pattaya. I booked the tour through the Nika Travel Pattaya agency with the guide Alexander, like all other tours, however (there will be time to share my impressions).
They took us on a tour at 4 am, 40 minutes later they called us and woke us up so that we would not be late and oversleep. We were placed in a comfortable minivan, the chairs were soft and comfortable, there were not many people, there were plenty of empty seats. On the bus, the guide gathered all the tourists at the hotels, gave us badges, checked our passports, and gave parting words, go with the driver to the border, they will meet us there. Leaving for Pattaya it was still dark, we took a nap for 2.5 hours, after which we stopped near some cafe where we could have breakfast (with our own lunchbox or buy breakfast and coffee there). An hour later, we were already near the border, where they immediately met us, took our passports and led us along the “green corridor”, we did not wait for registration, because we ordered a tour with a VIP border crossing. Passports were returned in the evening at the hotel. After 30-40 minutes we were already in a small bus with our guide. Let's go to Siam Reap, the road is about 2 hours. On the way we listened to the guide's story about the camp and looked around. Cambodia is very different from Thailand. The buildings that are called houses here are more like some dubious buildings, and one wonders how one can live in such conditions. On the way to Siam Reap, I saw only rice fields and sugar palm plantations.
It turned out to be livelier in the city itself. We were taken to a hotel, a small hotel with a swimming pool, beautiful interior. Invited to dinner and settled in the rooms. The room is spacious, clean, all accessories, tea, coffee, snow-white sheets, towels. Everything... down to the toothbrush was in the room. We were given a rest for about an hour, and we were collected again on the bus to leave for Angkor Wat.
It is located, as it turned out, not far away. We visited the entire temple complex. The temples of Angkor Wat are amazing, incredibly ancient, and amaze with their architecture. We visited Ta Prohm, it is here that huge trees are located that envelop the temple, Bayon - a temple with Buddha faces, there are many narrow corridors and halls, all the walls are in reliefs, the Terrace of the Leper Kings, the temple of Ta Keo. And at the very end, already at sunset, we approached the temple of Angkor. Angkor is the largest and most majestic of all. Probably, it was the temples that impressed me most of all on this excursion, we took pictures of every corner. 1480486.jpg" style="height: 488px; width: 800px" />
After sunset we visited a temple dedicated to the victims of the genocide. I note that our Khmer guide simply did not stop talking for a minute. And for us, in turn, it was very interesting to listen to him, and to learn a lot of facts about the country.
Being satisfied with this eventful day, we went to dinner, stopping at a souvenir shop on the way, where they bought something for gifts. The restaurant was Swedish, during lunch we watched the Apsara national performance.
In the evening, at the hotel, we were offered to go to the pool, but we were tired and overwhelmed with impressions and simply passed out in the room.
In the morning there was an early rise for breakfast, which turned out to be chic, better than in our hotel in Pattaya. It was still cool in the morning, we got on the bus and went to the lotus plantation. This is an incredibly beautiful field. Here we saw how the locals grow and harvest lotuses, tasted their seeds. On the way, we passed both wealthy houses and real halobuds.
We arrived at Tonle Sap lake. I heard a lot about it, but could not imagine what it really looks like. They put us in a boat and we sailed through the dirty orange waters to the floating village. The locals were fishing, standing in this dirty water, a boat was sailing in which a girl with a boa constrictor was sitting. In general, the feeling on the lake is just brr . . it becomes somehow uncomfortable when you imagine that people live here. Words such as comfort and convenience are simply forgotten at this moment. Looking at all this, I really want to land. . .
Finally, we got off the boats and got on the bus, somehow we even felt better. It’s just that bewilderment immediately appears, is this possible... The impressions are very strong.
Our next stop was at a crocodile farm. It is small, but here we saw holes made specifically for crocodiles, here they breed, and then go to bags and wallets. Next was the city of crafts, where we got acquainted with local crafts.
The city center, the central park and the main hotel of the city, where Mrs. Jolie lived when she was filming here in her famous film Lara Croft, also arrived. We witnessed a wedding walk and a photo shoot of a young couple in Pattaya, I did not manage to see this. Right here in the trees in Central Park, we looked at huge flying foxes that hung upside down like fruits. It's good that after dark I won't be here and I won't run into these birds while they are awake.
I also note a delicious lunch in a restaurant where we were offered various Cambodian dishes. The buffet selection was huge. After a delicious lunch, we visited a massage parlor, where everyone got a foot massage (about half an hour), it was included in the price of the tour. On this, our excursion program was completed, and our group, already friends for two days, said goodbye to the guide and set off for the border. There, our guides were waiting for us and they showed us where to go.
By the way, here on the border, I saw a wild picture, a huge barred van, which is just packed like herrings with local residents. Behind the bars, they carried women, children, men. When I looked at our escort in bewilderment, he replied that it was illegal Cambodians who were being returned from Thailand to their homeland. And despite the fact that a lot of time has already passed since the trip, the impressions are very strong. Exotic in its purest form. Highly recommended.
