Journey in Jordan. Petra. Part 1.
I chose to make a photo report on Jordan! We went from Sharm for 2 days to Israel-Jordan. The border is passed quite quickly, the guide of Jordan collects the passe-partout and gives out the borders already stamped for the passage. The people are quite friendly and smiling. He changed coins: dinar, shekel, and 1/2 and 1/5 each - for souvenir.
Jordan is the poorest country in the Middle East. However, they have several unique historical monuments, and among them the most prominent is Petra. Petra was the capital of the Nabatian kingdom, which existed from the 4th century AD. and until the 4th century AD. The territory of Petra has not yet been fully explored by scientists - according to some estimates, the percentage of what has already been studied is only about 15%!! ! from the total number of available objects. It is possible that real sensations will be presented to the world in the near future. In the meantime, information is being collected bit by bit, step by step making the history of the ancient city, its necropolis and its true purpose more and more clear.
It will take a lot of time to explore Petra: there are about 800 places worth visiting - it’s not for nothing that tickets to Petra are available not only for one or two days, but even for three!
The Nabataean city of Petra in Jordan, located 262 km. south of Amman. It is the most famous landmark in Jordan. Petra is located at an altitude of about 1500 meters above sea level. But it's easy to breathe there.
