Last August we were in Sorrento. We stayed at the Alimuri Hotel and were very satisfied. An ideal place for a family holiday, especially if you are traveling with children like us.
Before the trip, we chose a hotel for a long time, delving into the internet: there were four of us (me, my husband and our two twins). It's expensive to take two double rooms, they didn't want apartments, because they had to cook, but they already agreed to this.
But then, fortunately, our friends returned from Italy and advised us to contact the travel agency through which they themselves traveled (called “Holiday M”, maybe it will come in handy for someone). There, we were immediately advised the Alimuri hotel: here you can rent a large room for four with all amenities. Not expensive and good discount for children. But the main thing that I liked was “all inclusive” (in Italy, this is actually rare in hotels). By the way, the buffet was quite good.
The hotel is not in Sorrento itself, but 4 km away. from him - in the city of Meta. The location is good: you can easily get anywhere from here. From morning to late evening, a free shuttle to Sorrento runs from the hotel - only 10 minutes. to the center.
The hotel has its own beach with sunbeds and umbrellas (albeit pebbles, but the water is not muddy). So if you are a fan of lying on the beach - you are here! There is also a heated pool, sauna and spa, I went for a massage a couple of times - I recommend it! The hotel restaurant is not bad food, there is a beautiful view of the bay and Vesuvius (so take a table by the window). Sometimes we liked to dine here too (even though we had all inclusive). In the evenings, a tenor sings in the restaurant. Romka is fond of music, he plays drums in a group (I’ll say almost in verse: I already got his metal! ). You need to instill a taste, but where else, if not in Italy.
In general, it is very romantic here, a great place for lovers: silence, tranquility and solitude. But we came here for educational purposes: we wanted to show the children more interesting places. In 2 weeks we managed to go to Capri (only 20 minutes by boat to the island), admire the majestic Vesuvius, but the main thing is to visit Pompeii (oh, it was Tema’s dream for many years - to arrange her “last day”! ). Here you can take a Russian-speaking guide, so the excursions were really useful and informative for the guys. In general, we are satisfied: we rested ourselves, and enlightened the children.
