To all readers, good afternoon.
You know, I would like to share the amazing impressions from the fulfillment of my old dream: I always wanted to visit Rome, touch the Colosseum, and just wander through the ancient streets ...And now - it came true! Happinnes exists!
1. I'll start, as always, with the hotel. Regina Baglioni was advised by friends who stayed at this hotel last year, for which they were given a big respect with a gift on their return. A very interesting hotel - almost invisible from the street, but very beautiful inside (all the photos you saw on his website are true); located close to the city center. It is easy to get to the most popular museums of Rome from the hotel: 10 minutes leisurely walk to Villa Borghese, 15 minutes to the Colosseum or the Spanish Steps, 20 minutes to Piazza des Nations.
The hotel inside is very beautifully styled antique (a lot of marble, paintings and crystal, right from the reception), 8 floors, there is a beautiful observation deck at the top, which offers a magnificent view of the city.
2. Numbers.
The rooms are good, also stylized antique, quite spacious and very comfortable. Some of the rooms have a view of Via Veneto, some - of the courtyard; some rooms have small balconies. The room has: TV, normal air conditioning, hair dryer and safe, minibar, music center. Rooms are cleaned daily, and with a very pleasant feature: a chocolate bar is placed on the pillow, and the weather forecast for the next day is placed on the table. I would like to mention a beautifully decorated bathroom with all the necessary amenities, including a bathrobe and slippers.
3. Nutrition.
The food is amazing, top notch! I only had breakfast at the hotel, which left only positive memories.
Good, tasty cuisine; main courses are pleasantly accompanied by fruit and fresh pastries, and freshly squeezed juices and champagne are among the drinks. In general, ho - ro - sho!
P. S. Special thanks for the smiles and attention to the Russian waitress Natalya, who works in the restaurant!
4. City.
Oh, what can I say - Rome must be seen! The city is simply amazing! Walked around it on foot almost the whole, the benefit is not very big. You know, walking along the streets, you experience some special feeling of a fusion of two worlds ...You leave the restaurant on the most ordinary Roman street, clogged with parked scooters, walk 30 meters, turn around the corner, and - you run into the Pantheon ...And so - at almost every step you can unexpectedly meet a beautiful piece of history. The rest will be told by the photographs that I attached to the travelogue; I want to move on to a couple of useful tips in this part.
Tip 1.
Going to Rome, be sure to take care of comfortable and light shoes!! ! For men, the most optimal - light sneakers, for women - light sandals. Why is it optimal? There are paving stones almost everywhere, and in waves ...Somehow I didn’t think about it at all, as a result, after 3 days I felt after walking, albeit in light, but low shoes ...how to say ...You know, there is such a small green a frog with big suckers on its fingers? That's about how I felt ...A week later I got used to it, of course, I even began to like the paving stones, but I still get rid of calluses ...In general, take care of your legs and do not repeat my mistake.
Tip 2. Water. Yes, we are talking about drinking water. In the first half of September in Rome there were about 35 degrees of heat, which at first was very difficult to endure. But - numerous Roman fountains helped, from which the purest drinking water flows. It is enough to buy 0 once.
5l bottle to "refill" it periodically in the future. And in the city this is considered absolutely normal, all people do just that, since fountains are very common.
5. Restaurants.
And I won’t even write anything about restaurants - you yourself will come in and try the most delicate mozzarella, pasta with amazing sauces, real pizza (and not the one that they bring by telephone order at Oka), lasagna, veal in wine and much - much - many other things in combination with local wines...Or just in a warm evening, thoughtfully drink a mug of beer while contemplating the Pantheon...
6. Excursions.
There are many excursions offered, but I will not bore them with a description (if you are interested - write - I will tell you), I will say one thing: you must definitely visit the Vatican (one Sistine Chapel is worth it! ) And the Villa Borghese Museum!
I wish all who read these lines good and pleasant trips to beautiful places.
If you would like to clarify any details - send a question, I will be happy to answer everyone.
Sincerely, Alexander
