Hotel Italie et Suisse
As usual, I wrote a letter to the hotel asking for a room on the upper floors with a balcony overlooking the lake. Usually hotels always go to meet their guests, but not in this hotel. For my additional wishes, they asked for money and not small ones. I refused their offer, deciding that on the spot it would be seen what and how.
We arrived at the hotel around 8 pm. We were again asked what kind of room we would like? Having voiced her wishes once again, she received the same answer. Refusing their offer, they went to their room. Yes, as they emailed me, they gave me a room on the 2nd floor, with 2 balconies and a side view of the lake. Everything else corresponds to the description on http://www. booking. com/hotel/it/italietsuisse. de.html? aid=202008; sid=d4515d1afe80540551b981b971c212f6; dcid=1 .
The room is spacious, I liked it, and if the weather was good, you could sit in the evening on the balcony, one had a table and chairs. But all the days in Stresa it rained intermittently, so I didn't have to use the balcony.
We literally spent 3 nights at the hotel, because there were excursions from morning to evening. Therefore, about the hotel, in addition to what is written on the booking. com , I can hardly add anything extra.
Internet for extra fee, so did not use. The breakfasts are ordinary, the only thing that I really liked was croissants with apricot jam. And here I once again noted that the best croissants are in Italy.
Opposite the hotel there is paid parking, literally across the road, on the lake. How much it costs, I don't know, because the hotel gives special receipts for its guests, 7.00 euros per day.
Despite the fact that there is a road nearby, under the windows, we always slept with an open balcony. We returned to the hotel late, tired after the trips, so we fell asleep almost instantly, and no noise bothered us.
The breakfast room is located on the 1st floor, has large glass windows, and if you take a table by the window, then during breakfast you can watch pedestrians passing by, passing cars, tourists hurrying to the pier, and the lake itself.
During our stay there, there were not many guests in the hotel, so getting a table by the window was not a problem. And every morning, passing by the reception, I looked at the board with the keys to the rooms, they almost all hung in their places, which indicates that the hotel was half empty.
And there is a pier nearby, the railway station is about a 15-minute walk at a leisurely pace. And if you turn around the corner of the hotel, you will find yourself on the pedestrian zone, in the very center of Stresa. In short, the location of the hotel is very good.
I will add a few photos, because all the rest put up on booking. com are true.
The location of the hotel is very good for a short stay in Stresa.
