Good day! We vacationed in January 2024 at the Dolomites ski resort and stayed at the Sassleng Hotel. It is located in Alba di Canazei. The location is not the best, it is on the main road, but the hotel deserves, in my opinion, high ratings. I booked through booking. Room on the 3rd floor (207), corner with a large balcony, mountain view.

The room has good heating, a comfortable bed, a bathroom with a bidet, and a large shower. There were not enough bedside tables, instead of stumps (the interior is made of wood). Safe, kettle, good WIFI, smart TV, downloaded youtube : ). Breakfast did not have much variety, but it was enough. Eggs, 3 types of sausage, cheese, pastries, croissants with Nutella, yoghurt, muesli, cereal, coffee from the machine (not limited), apples and something else. There was no fresh milk and porridge : ( Continental dinners, with pre-order. Very tasty! National dishes changed every day during the week. GRAZIE MILLE to the cook!!!
Drinks for a fee. There is free water in the carafe on the table. For skiers and snowboarders there is a drying room on the 1st floor. Nearby there is a room with exercise equipment, table tennis and football, and a cinema-type room. There is a sauna, not big, for 5 euros 55 minutes. didn't use it. There is an elevator! I recommend the hotel.
And now about the skiing itself. The pistes are good, they run smoothly, but by lunchtime the skiers are already falling off. The tracks are mostly red and black, there are few blue ones. Therefore, it will be difficult for beginners here. There is plenty of space for the advanced, BUT there are a lot of older skiers. It’s difficult for them and they can barely travel. In short, they slow down those who want to speed up : ) From ALBA there are two lifts to different mountains. BELVIDERE and the opposite CIAMPAC. Both destinations are worth a visit! By the way CIAMPAC is best for students and elderly. Several blue and training trails, but there are rope tows. In general, the Dolomites are incredibly beautiful!! ! Wherever you are, the views are mesmerizing!
I recommend walking around the SELLA massif, visiting Mount MARMOLADA, riding in the SASSOLUNGO area, and taking the PANORAMA TOUR on the CIAMPAC side. Keep in mind that the descent from Mount MARMOLADA is difficult and bumpy by lunchtime, and it takes about 20 minutes of intense trail to get to the lift in the opposite direction. But the views....For me, a snowboarder, unfortunately the snow park was not enough. It was not built yet in January in the BELVIDERE area. There are enough freeride areas. Not very informative signs on the highways.
In general, I recommend the resort.
Have a good rest and rides everyone!! !
