To all readers, good afternoon.
This time, dear friends, I decided to diversify my next vacation a little; Of course, trips to cool hotels in warm countries with a sea/beach/banana/parachute/all inclusive/animation/disco/excursion program are all very cool, but already a little fed up, and therefore one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean was chosen for the trip - the island of Ischia, where you can combine business with pleasure - and relax, and improve your health with the help of mother nature. I would like to say that I was not at all mistaken with the choice, and I was completely satisfied with the rest. After much torment with the choice of a hotel, we settled on 4 * Oasi Castiglione; the choice was influenced by the presence of its own park of thermal springs and a large territory, which 5 * hotels did not have, as well as a good location relative to other attractions.

1. Hotel.

Large green well-groomed territory, very beautiful and quite clean, stylized in a "retro" style (all the photos that you saw on his website are true, plus you can get a general impression of the hotel from my photos); the hotel is located on a mountainside, going down a long cascade to the sea. From the reception building, which is located at the very top, there are 2 ways down: either a ride on a small funicular that constantly runs up / down (see photo), or on foot along the right outskirts of the hotel, through the gate. Upon check-in, you will be given 2 keys: one - from the room, and the other - from the gates to enter the territory (if, for example, you return late at night). Cases: 2-story central bungalow and several one-story, standing in rows - one row at the very top of the territory, and 2 more rows at the bottom.
The hotel has 12 swimming pools, 10 of which are thermal, 1 with sea water, and 1 with fresh water, surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas. 4 thermal pools are located in an indoor area with a retractable roof, there is also a beauty center; one floor below, where the funicular boarding area, there is a bathrobe rental, changing rooms and a gym. Bathrobe rental costs 5 euros per day for hotel guests, and 5 euros once for residents for the entire stay. It is customary to move around the hotel in bathrobes, in the springs everyone bathes in hats. A lot of people from neighboring hotels come to the hotel every day (the thermal park "Gardens of Castiglione" is one of the few parks on the island; on the territory of other hotels there are only 2 - 3 pools, one of which is not thermal), entrance to the territory is 26 euros per day.
Despite the daily influx of “strangers” vacationers, there are no problems with places, there were no cases of theft during the two weeks of our stay.
There are 2 restaurants on the territory, both are located near the sea - one is right next to the beach (fish), the second is a little higher (residents eat in this restaurant, and you can also order something from the additional menu if you do not have accommodation lunch/dinner), one bar and shop, beauty center.

2. Numbers.
For two residents - quite spacious, comfortable, but without any special frills (see photo). Each room has a small patio - with a table for two, a dryer and sun loungers. The room has: TV, normal air conditioning, hair dryer and safe, minibar - refrigerator (filled once - a bottle of mineral water), bathroom with shower. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels and rugs are changed every day. I can recommend asking 2.
5 or 15 rooms in the central bungalow - you will live in comfort with a good view of the sea and convenient in relation to the main routes of movement.

3. Beach and sea.

The beach (if you can call it that) is your own, consists of a concrete platform and two piers protruding 30 meters into the sea. The beach is not equipped with sun loungers / umbrellas, and in general no one swims in the sea - everyone sits in the pools. As I said, there is a fish restaurant on a concrete platform. No water sports.

4. Animation / evening pastime.
There is no animation. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the bar performs "live music" - people come and sing sad songs; you can listen to them only in the presence of severe insomnia and nothing else. During the day, water aerobics classes are held in the fresh water pool; seems to be paid.
In the evening there is nothing to do in the hotel, so it is best to go shopping, or to get-togethers in some restaurant with live music.
If you leave the hotel, there will immediately be bus stops on both sides of the road. If you cross the road - to the left will be Ischia - Porto (less than 20 minutes on foot, or less than 5 on any bus), the main street where life is in full swing - Via Roma. If you took the CD bus, Ischia Porto is its final stop, then you should walk for 5 minutes along the pier and turn left - and you will find yourself on this street with a bunch of different shops and restaurants. Remember that you always need to bargain, even if the price tag hangs on the thing you like 
If you move to the right from the hotel without crossing the road, then the nearest points will be Lacco Ameno and Forio. You need to go by bus, because the road is not close. Bus tickets can be bought at any tobacco shop (1.5 euros), or from the driver (2 euros), do not forget to validate them after purchase. The purchased ticket is valid for 1.5 hours.
Shopping is also possible in Forio, but the range is smaller than in Ischia Porto. Be sure to try Vesuvius pizza at the local pizzeria on the waterfront opposite the supermarket - it's something amazing!
For women, the local medical cosmetics - "Ischia Cosmetici Naturali" will be very attractive, I heard only very positive feedback from everyone who tried it. Only buy it in company stores, bargaining is welcome. The stores have catalogs in Russian.

5 Nutrition.

Food is typical continental. We took breakfast/dinner; the breakfast menu is characterized by a stable monotony - scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses, fruits, muesli, yoghurts, pastries, jams, 2 reconstituted juices, tea or coffee to choose from. At breakfast, you can order dishes for dinner - you are invited to choose from the menu one of 3 options for first and second courses (if you wish, you can order something for money), dessert is chosen directly at dinner.
At dinner, drinks are paid, the average price of a bottle of wine is 15 euros, a bottle of mineral water is 2 euros. If something remains unfinished - as everywhere in Europe, the bottle is left for the next evening.

6. Thermal springs
What can I say - you need to plunge into them, it's just a fairy tale! Even if you don’t like something in the hotel, the sources compensate for everything; when millions of invisible needles tingle your whole body, you forget about everything. Each spring has its own temperature - from 15 to 40 ° and a different mineral composition, some of them are equipped with jets that create the effect of a jacuzzi with a whirlwind of small bubbles above the surface (it's an amazing feeling to breathe mineral water), in one of the pools the water beats in three streams from above, performing an excellent massage of the neck and shoulder areas.
There are also two natural saunas on the territory - stone caves with stone benches, where springs with a temperature of 90 ° are beating (one is on an elevated platform, where the source is 40 °, the second is in a covered room, to the right of the entrance), two relaxation - grottoes.
I involuntarily checked the healing properties of the springs on myself - on the eve of the flight I had a bad cold, I even feared for the very possibility of a trip (a severe runny nose and cough). On the second day everything went without a trace. Yes, and a few more words about the effect of sources on the skin - you know, they say "like on a baby's bottom"? This is exactly how the skin becomes - clean, smooth, velvety.
Just in case, do not forget about the mode of taking thermal baths: 20 minutes in the source, at least 1 hour - a break on a sun lounger. In general, bathing in more than 3 springs per day is not recommended.

The principle "the more - the better" is not categorically suitable for thermal baths, an example of which during our vacation was the hospitalization of one compatriot of about 60 years old, who spent two days in thermal springs almost without getting out.
7. Children
I do not recommend to go to the hotel with children. Firstly, nothing is provided for them - there is no playground, no children's club, no special menu in the restaurant; secondly, swimming in thermal springs is prohibited for children, so they can swim only in pools with fresh and sea water.

8. Moral atmosphere in the hotel.
The atmosphere is homely. There is absolutely nothing negative about the staff. There is no noise in the hotel, vacationers are mostly aged 40+; few young people. The main contingent of vacationers is Italians (70%), Germans (25%) and the rest are other nations. There are practically no Russians, native speech is extremely rarely heard.
The park is open until 19:00, after which everyone goes to dinner, and after dinner they drive around the island, and silence sets in on the territory ...Germans and Italians sit down to play preference in a bar, they don’t have booze.

9. Excursions
Guides offer a bunch of different excursions, the main part of which comes down to an offer to visit some local village with wine tasting. Trust me, you can do it on your own quite easily. You can also visit the Aragonese castle (near Ischia - Porto) and the gardens of Poseidon on your own. I highly recommend a trip to the Poseidon Gardens, a stunningly beautiful park with an excellent sandy beach of Chitara; You can get there by bus number 2 (landing - without crossing the road), this is its final stop.
We were very pleased with the rest, rested both in soul and body!
I wish you all a pleasant and magical holiday,
Sincerely, Alexander
