Lenno from the Gulf of Venus
The small pretty town of Lenno is located in one of the picturesque bays of the Italian Lake Como, called the "Gulf of Venus". Among the historical buildings in the town of Lenno, it is worth visiting the church of St. Stephen standing on the shore - the incredible energy of the church and the frescoes of the 14th century leave a strong impression. True, the church is open only during the morning and evening services. I somehow managed to get inside when the service had already ended, but the front door had not yet been closed. There was no one in the church, and holding my breath, I looked at the paintings on the walls, illuminated only by the sun penetrating through the stained-glass windows.
At the foot of Mount Ossio, which overhangs the city, is the Abbey of Acquafredda (Abbazia dell'Acquafredda), built by Cistercian monks in the 12th century. Its name comes from a source of very cold water, which to this day flows nearby. You can get there along the path among the olive trees.
But the most famous attraction in Lenno, which all tourists who come to Lake Como want to see, is Villa del Balbianello, located on the very edge of Cape Lavedo, a steep rocky hill that rapidly descends to the water itself. Around the villa is a small, very beautiful park, which has been repeatedly used as a film set for the Star Wars films. Episode 2" and "Casino Royale". And this fact adds to its additional popularity, attracting tourists from all over the world

On Lake Como, unlike Maggiore, there are practically no equipped beaches, and the places available for swimming, the so-called “wild beaches”, are solid bare stones, along which you can still somehow enter the water, but get out after - you need to show the abilities of tightrope walkers. : ) Which, in other matters, does not in the least prevent those who wish to swim.
If you want a civilized beach holiday, then Lenno has an equipped Lido di Lenno beach with an entrance fee (4 euros, I think) and paid services, and an impressive guard at the entrance. The territory of Lido di Lenno is surrounded by a fence, so no one's random prying eyes will prevent you from sunbathing and swimming. : )
At the coast of Lenno, in a quiet backwater, a family of swans lives, fed by a local resident. Watching the friendship of a man and a swan is another bonus to the impressions of the Italian town.
Or, one day, returning after a day full of impressions, find yourself a casual spectator of a stunning concert on the terrace of a neighboring house. And with a glass of wine on “your” balcony, enjoy the magnificent voices of the duo living next door, shouting “bravo” to them in delight, receiving in response “grazie mille !! ”. : )
