As for the hotel, it causes mixed feelings. I'll start with the pros: located in the center, 7 minutes walk to the ski lift, 100 meters from the hotel there is a ski bus stop. All kinds of shops nearby. The interior is designed in a medieval style. I was pleasantly surprised by the room: quite spacious, probably about 22-25 sq. m. , which is not typical for alpine hotels. Cleaned every day carefully, just changed linen daily. Cons: in the house opposite (the width of the street is 4 meters) a global reconstruction is being carried out. Jackhammers and other equipment rumble from 8 to 17. We still got up earlier and it was not a problem for us. But those who like to lie in the morning should keep this in mind. I got the impression that the owners of the hotel save too much on the service. So, there is usually no one behind the bar at the bar. If a waiter from a restaurant runs past, then you are lucky and they will pour you, if not, then wait until he does run. There is no one at the reception at night. All guests were given keys to the front door. If the key is forgotten and late???!! ! Restaurant. . . This is a separate issue. It is served by 2 waiters: a middle-aged Italian and an 18-year-old guy named Ivan (emphasis on the first syllable), who was taken out of Russia at the age of 6. He was clearly taken to facilitate dialogue with Russian-speaking guests, but the fact is that he coped with this task extremely unsuccessfully. Here is one example of his possession of the Great and Mighty. To our question what kind of meat would be for dinner, he chose the right words for a long time, and then answered: "Well, this, in general, is the husband of a cow! " Now this phrase in our family has become winged. Neither one nor the other speaks English, although they carefully pretend that everyone understands. Ordering a dish, therefore, turned into a serious test. They often confused us, brought the wrong things, etc. On the third day, when we were already sick of it, we expressed our “fairy” to Vanya, to which he pouted his lips and replied that, in fact, before us, all Russians understood him perfectly , only we are picky about something. I will not argue, probably, we, three adults with higher education, who have lived in Russia for half a century, know the Russian language worse than a teenager really in Russia and who did not live. But please tell me, dear gentlemen, how are you going to communicate with citizens of other countries: not Russia and not Italy, who do not know either Italian or your beautiful Russian? At the same time, the chef really tried and cooked well, although the cuisine was not very diverse. The restaurant served not only the hotel guests, but also anyone from the street. At the same time, there was a clear difference in the attitude of the staff towards one and the other: first of all, attention was paid to the aliens. It is clear: we have already paid the money, we can wait. Skiing in Bormio is good, in principle, for an average skier, the Bormio zone is enough. There are no really difficult tracks. The track from height 3012 descends directly to the village, the total length of non-stop driving along it is about 9 km. We went to Livigno - did not like it, the mountains without forests, very windy. Unfortunately, when it is windy, the upper slopes are also closed in Bormio, and then the remaining working ones become somewhat crowded. Of course, in terms of length and variety, local routes are inferior to the Val di Fassa area, but such as in Val di Fassa is unlikely to be found anywhere else in Italy. Those. to whom my otvyv seemed too gloomy, I hasten to reassure, everything is not so bad. If they ask me: is it worth going to Bormio, I answer: definitely "yes"! Whether it is worth staying at the La Posta Hotel - decide for yourself based on the above. I think the feeling that your vacation is hopelessly spoiled just because you have chosen this hotel will not. The rooms are very small, the ventilation is poor, there are no bathrobes, slippers, bed linen is not up to standard. Breakfasts are standard, dinners are good to choose from the menu, but monotonous (there is no fish). In the basement there is a small pool and something like a sauna, it costs 12 euros for a visit, zero pleasure, you go once, you think again. What struck me
that upon departure she asked for payment for services, drinks, and instead of a check, where everything is usually listed by amount, they wrote a three-digit amount on a piece of paper. Guys, well, this is still Europe! But at the same time, the rest left a lot of pleasant impressions. The mountains!! ! The sun!! ! From the hotel to the ski lift 7-10 minutes on foot (not stressful). The slopes are wonderful, well-groomed, the lifts are new, I was struck by the absence of queues. At an altitude of 3200m, I recommend a restaurant with amazing views, excellent onion soup and unforgettable fried chicken. In Bormio itself there is a city thermal center, so-so for 4, a lot of people. Five kilometers from Bormio (by taxi 15 euros) Terme is better, it’s nice to swim in hot water in the fresh air, admiring the snow-capped mountains.
