TandemTravelers : Italy, Adriatic, 16% descent! Overnight on the beach without a tent))
Pretty exhausted during the night in Ljubljana, already at 6 am we were on the train, straining to the city of Sezana.
It was very ordinary to pass this way not on a bicycle, but we had no choice.
It was only 17 km from Sezana to Trieste, so we decided not to spend money and turn around.
The concept that we are in Italy came only with time, when we began to see shop signs and car numbers. There were no border markings. I think the reason for this is the bike path.
Ahead of us was a difficult road with steep ascents and descents. Virtually absent brakes gave it a touch of extreme, but we were not discouraged and overcame descents of 16% with a smile. The romantic narrow streets of Italy and the skill of driving did not inspire confidence. You can't physically imagine a Ford Mustang or some American pickup here. But after a couple of hours, you realize that the Italians drive smartly.
It is also clear why all Italian cars are small, compact and brick-like. There are no parking lots for them, but you need to put in + bicycles + scooters, etc. )
But there was one most important +!!! ))) We are finally near the sea. After wandering around the streets for a bit, listening to the stormy beeping of cars on the highway (again), we went to a chic bike path along the coast, where we were able to find a suitable beach for us. We have never seen such a clean and warm sea. You see every pebble and shell. Having enjoyed the whole day on the beach, we decided to spend the night in the same place, we didn’t set up a tent, because. the sea was calm, and the sky was clear, hoping to meet a gorgeous sunrise in the morning from behind the mountains.
