Hello! We were in North Goa at the Rio Resort Hotel from December 31 to January 8.2012. The main disadvantage of this hotel is its location. The nearest bad Bagi beach is a 5-minute taxi ride. In some places it was written that you can walk to the beach, but this is not so. Another lie is that free shuttle buses run from the hotel. In fact, there are none. The hotel is on the outskirts, so local taxi drivers break prices in three ways (plus it was the peak of the season). The hotel is not 5 star. The hotel seems to be new, but the shower works strangely, half broken, the air conditioner roars so much that I put a pillow on my head at night. In short, this hotel is not worth the money. For example, we went to visit a 3-star hotel on Kandolim beach and it was just smaller, but it’s not worse at all!
We went to the beaches of Vagator, Mandrem and Ashvem. About our nearest beach, Bagi, everyone said in unison that there was horror, horror, so we didn’t even go there. I didn't like the Vagator either. There are stones, cows and a bunch of merchants. Much better on Mandrem. But most of all I liked Ashvem. (One way trip - 400-500 rupees, 2 ways - 800). There are no cows, the beach is huge, beautiful palm grove. As a result, we rented a bungalow there for 1 night for 2000 rupees with amenities. This place is called Babu huts & pagna cafe. I advise everyone! Quiet place, very tasty inexpensive food, everything is brought quickly!! ! They experienced real peace there. Just take a blanket with you, as it gets a little chilly at night. In general, the choice of houses for every taste and wallet on this beach is very large. But since we were at the New Year holidays, almost all the houses there were occupied.
In general, if I were you, I would look for another hotel for that kind of money (we were on New Year's holidays and gave 120 thousand rubles for two with a flight).
