The hotel is very cozy with a small pool, almost in the center of all the entertainment, but at the same time in a quiet place with lots of greenery and a quiet garden. India is a special country, the streets do not shine with cleanliness, but this did not affect the hotel in the slightest. It is kept by a couple of brothers, very nice people, they speak good English. You will not hear Russian speech in the hotel, but with a translator from the phone we understood each other normally. But for the most part, we had enough basic knowledge of English. Check in at the hotel is very fast, we had a room on the second floor with a balcony. There are not many rooms, all have balconies and chic carved wooden furniture. The furniture struck us the most, such beauty, words can not describe. Cleaned in the room every day, but you need to request cleaning and leave the keys to the room. We changed the bedding three times, the last time they asked to change it the day before departure, because they accidentally spilled it on Fenya's bed. They replaced everything right away and didn’t even scold us, but they voluntarily gave a tip so that no one was offended))). The room has air conditioning, a fan, a small refrigerator and a safe. Enough to spend the night, rinse in the shower before going to bed and sleep on a comfortable bed. Breakfasts at the hotel are peculiar, there are no fruits, there are a couple of dishes to choose from, toasts, tea, coffee. You can have dinner or lunch at the hotel, the choice is much larger and the price is the same with cafes nearby. Of all the hotels around, we wouldn't risk staying and the Mayflower is clearly the best in its price range. The hotel also has free WI-FI in the room, and catches in some places around the territory. And in the evenings, Russian films are shown on the big screen, they caught it once, it just caused nostalgia)). Near the entertainment street, exactly one minute walk with all its famous bars, parties, restaurants. The resort has been affected by many years of Portuguese influence. It affects everything, in architecture, culture and even food. It also affected the love of the local population for alcohol, and we tried many drinks here for the first time. The most delicious and incomparable with anything was the local drink Urrak, which is made from cashews. . And the drink Armada, which is called here "the legendary liquor of the Portuguese Empire. " You can eat calmly and in the "beach shacks", they have never been poisoned, and it has always been delicious. You can order food and use its sunbeds and internet for free. The sea and beaches are clean, swimming all day long. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely go again.

My husband and I had never been to India before, and to be honest, it was scary at first. To this very moment, I miss the unique smells and aromas that permeate all corners of this unique country. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was very surprised by the cleanliness that was throughout the hotel. Very clean and well-kept area, nice, though not big, clean pool. Around tropical plants and flowers. A huge plus is that the hotel itself is, as it were, in the depths of the streets, and noise is not heard day or night. They put us in our room almost immediately. The owners of the hotel are the most pleasant people, you can feel the homely atmosphere, excellent service. The room is spacious, everything is new. The furniture is simply amazing, like in Indian palaces, all carved from wood. Everything is provided in the room, the air conditioning worked silently, the ceiling fan, the safe is free. Cleaning in the room, if you leave the keys to the room in a box marked "clean up". There was a wonderful view from the balcony, where we dried our things. . The Internet in the room did not catch, but on the territory and especially at the reception it was free, and there was always enough for correspondence or a call. We expected a different environment, but it turned out to be a very comfortable hotel. And most importantly, the sea is a 5-minute walk, and there are many different inexpensive cafes nearby, with free WI-FI and sun loungers on the beach, if you order something from them. The sea is amazing, warm and clean, the sand is soft, just super! The hotel had breakfast every day. The choice is modest, but we bought our own fruits and much more and ate quietly in the hotel restaurant. Any alcohol could be bought in neighboring shops, and drink at the table if you dine at the hotel restaurant. We almost always had lunch and dinner in cafes near or on the beach. Insects did not disturb us, but it is advisable to turn on the fumigator at night, as if it would not be superfluous. If you want to see the surroundings, we recommend taking a scooter, we did just that. We traveled all over the coast, and it turned out not expensive and we got a lot of impressions. We rested just wonderfully and next time we will fly, of course, only here, and most likely to this hotel.

I think it's a LOT. The hotel was chosen based on online reviews. Everyone is happy with the hotel, the rating is going through the roof. Yes, a 3 * hotel, we have been to many places in poor countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, Morocco. In Vietnam, a 3 * hotel is chic, breakfasts are delicious. We always carefully choose a hotel, read the reviews of real vacationers.
I don’t want to scold the hotel or the country as a whole, I’ll just write the realities that we met there so that people understand what they will see there.
The hotel is small, one 3-storey building, corridor system. Some rooms are facing south, while others are facing north. To the left and right of the building there is a fence (very close), behind which neighboring buildings are just as close. There is no reception as such, just a little counter right behind the gate, opposite the "restaurant" - 6 tables with chairs. The reception doesn't even have chairs. It is impossible to understand that this is a hotel - there are no signs. When I called the doctor, I ran all the way to the main street so that he could find us.
From the restaurant there is a narrow path to the building, on the right is a swimming pool (we did not dare to swim in it). That's the whole area. Someone called it cozy and green....The building itself is somehow in a lowland, such as in a swamp, since from our room, for example, (we lived on the 1st floor for the first week, dark, damp, mosquitoes) our fumitox did not copes, the sewerage poured directly onto the ground, plus this space between the building and the fence was constantly watered, then the water stood there constantly, it was still warm - expanse for mosquitoes.
The hotel is new, the rooms are spacious, even if the 2nd or 3rd floor, then even with windows to the north (as in our case), it is still drier and lighter than on the 1st. The second week we lived on the 2nd floor (not without the help of a doctor). The furniture is new and very nice. There is a bed, 2 chairs, an armchair, a mirror with a console, a wardrobe (all in the same style, like a set). LCD TV without Russian channels, watched about nature. Refrigerator, safe (free of charge). Air conditioning and ceiling fan, used only a fan, where the speed can be changed. All this is a plus for the hotel. At the reception Wi-Fi is free (when there is a signal and light). Each room has a balcony, even on the 1st floor, on the balconies (for all) a good rope is prudently stretched, there are 2 plastic chairs. That's where the "pros" ended (for me). Since we saw people who come to this hotel for the 3rd time, with children..... No comments. We read that you can get poisoned, but you need to wash your hands, take napkins with you - and then everything is fine. More than in India, we have not washed our hands anywhere else, we constantly wiped them with napkins... Do you understand? We still got sick.
But I will continue about the hotel. The worst thing is the bathroom, although there is no bathtub in sight. The room has a sink, toilet and shower head in the wall, you can’t move it anywhere. If you take a shower, then the water is all on the sink and on the floor. The slope is made towards the toilet. High humidity, lack of ventilation - and this water does not disappear anywhere, it stands on the floor and on the sides of the sink. I did not dare to put my toothbrushes, pastes, creams and so on on the sink. Everything will be damp and stand in a swamp. To the toilet only in rubber boots....Although there is a hygienic shower! ! This is a plus, especially with diarrhea.
For everything about everything in the room they give 2 bars of soap and 2 rolls of paper. Well, I brought my own soap, and when the paper ran out, I looked for it myself and took it from the cleaner (he didn’t see it).
We arrived at the hotel around 14:00, check-in at 12:00. We were thrashed for about an hour, it is not clear what they were doing (there are no chairs at the reception). Then they ask why are you still here? We weren't given a key!! ! That's when they get a list where we are all already registered, room numbers are affixed. They gave me the key. Number 2 on the ground floor, dark and damp. I immediately went to change, it did not work. The hotel has only Russians, the staff does not speak Russian. About 15 people stopped by at once. There are no places, everything is occupied. We went to the room, there were no towels. They asked for towels. The boy, a hotel worker, began to bargain - only one thing. Gave 1 dollar and brought us 2 towels!
When, after 4 days, my husband came down with a high temperature, there was no thermometer at the reception to measure it....Well, this is my oversight, I had to take it with me. We have been traveling around the countries for ten years, for the first time we used insurance, and twice: first my husband fell ill, then me. My husband has a high temperature, he is shivering, he sweats, he lies all damp. There is nothing to replace the bed with, I began to cover it with those 2 towels, and then try to dry them. The pillow is damp and smelly.
I went to the reception again to ask that we be moved or at least changed the bed. Only when the doctor arrived for the second time (and the staff was present every time when the doctor was examined), I already began to ask the doctor to change the bed, it was dark, damp, it smelled of sweat, they promised to move us to the 2nd floor. For a week we lived on the 1st floor, and the second week on the 2nd floor.
Now continental breakfast. I have never seen this in any other country. The hotel staff comes to work by 8-00. Changes clothes, begins to feed us. Each glass of UPI (such a drink, I did not drink). A cup of tea or coffee (instant). The second cup - for a fee you can. I tried to find natural coffee in Goa (in the morning). Found only in a nightclub Titos, espresso for 100 rupees. Next, sugar, 2 slices of bread from the toaster (burnt), a piece of margarine and a socket with jam, one for two. Everything!! ! This is breakfast and you will have to wait 40-50 minutes for it. On the second day, I decided not to go at all, not to waste time, but immediately go to the beach and order coffee and a cake in a cafe. They brought me coffee, and they said the cake would be only after 11-00, the cook had not come yet....No comment. If you went on an excursion, then of course we are not talking about any break-box.
People tried persistently, after a week of living, to change the bed. The staff pulled their sheets outside and began to examine for stains, for each stain - a fine. Yes, the very fact of looking at...... She herself was present. No comment.
We left early in the morning (they come to work by 8-00), so in the evening the staff removed everything that was there from the mini-bar (refrigerator) and left satisfied. For God's sake, we don't need anything. . .
Were in Thailand and Vietnam, everywhere an abundance of fruit. This is not here, you have to go to the fruit market (taxi), even that cesspool....I liked the watermelons, but not very much mangoes and melons. Mangoes are not the same as in Thailand. Shops, this is a flea market like Cherkizon of the appropriate quality - I don’t need anything. Although we found one store with bags made of genuine leather, very cheap and of decent quality, opposite the Russian cafe where Veronika is (I don’t know how to explain). There is cold and hot borscht, okroshka, Russian karaoke....Again, Wi-Fi.
In short, now I don’t want to go to this hotel or to India.
By the way, we went to Pananji, the capital of the state of Goa, a large city - the same garbage dump, very depressing. There is a shopping center - Big G. Big, cool - that's all!
We went on 2 excursions - waterfalls and sea. Everything is fine, but hot.
Yes, I forgot. The hotel is constantly some kind of repair, something sawing, drilling, knocking. We turned to the guide, he said: “What do you want - this is India!! ”. Guide from Biblio-globus Ivan. When they stopped drilling in our hotel, they started renovations in the neighboring building, it's nearby, it doesn't matter what is in your room. Due to illness, we spent a lot of time in the room, full of all this!
Because of the mosquitoes, we slept with a closed balcony, but in the morning I didn’t even want to open it - India is a country of smells. Garbage collection from the streets is not organized in any way, everyone who wants to fight it fights as best they can. They simply burn it in the morning, so the bees are smoked out of the hives. Later they begin to cook food, such as barbecue - those are still smells. Well, in the evening they meditate and incense is everywhere, in cafes, on the beach, in shops.....
