1. If you have been in the country and are just looking for a hotel - book and do not hesitate, the hotel is 5 points, do not read further.
2. If you, like me, choose a place for your vacation, then please think many more times whether you need to go there. When we boarded the plane already home, no one said goodbye affectionately to the sea, etc. , everyone just entered the plane in deathly silence. My husband and I went on a honeymoon trip to GOA, we thought it was something like the Bounty Island, the sea, the sun and so on.
In practice:
1. stink
The streets stink of manure everywhere, just everywhere. During the trip, I saw only 3 trash cans, in a cafe I just gave the trash to the hand of the waiter. Garbage is lying in the ditches around you, bottles, packages are floating in the sea (a little, but they are floating), most of it just goes out in the heat around you and this is normal, no one cares. It stinks, of course. You can ride a scooter to the beach, you can walk along the stinky river with your nose plugged.
because there is Indians peeing in the bushes. sometimes it stinks of shit, sometimes garbage is just lying around and you walk through this garbage dump. Although GOA is an elite state.
2. HORRIBLE FOOD
- Even if you ask for "no spicy", that is, not spicy, the food is still spicy. On the 1st day at the hotel for dinner to tears ...We just got up, leaving a bunch of full plates and went to bed hungry. Because it is impossible. And you want to eat a lot, you ask not sharply, they give you a terribly sharp thing and smilingly say that it is not sharp. For them, no, we can't eat that.
- The food is generally tasteless. We started to ask for rice, flat cakes, which do not put spices, etc. , but it is impossible to eat all this for days. I want normal tasty food, which is not. Yes, you rejoice at shrimp for 300 rubles, but you will eat them and rice for the whole rest. And it's not as tasty as in our restaurants. Their food quality is very poor. And this makes me sick. They even have snickers and rolltons (which have only 1 flavor - pepper) tasteless.
Anything with the addition of "masala" means spicy. They even have pepper tea!
They can also be eaten in a sizzler - a hot frying pan, vegetables and shrimp or just vegetables are served in a sizzling frying pan, as you choose. And pineapples, there they are 30 rubles each. I stayed on them for 2 weeks.
In general, I want to go home as soon as I left the airport.
Once I ordered pancakes, they brought me not only like my mother’s with an egg, butter, sugar and salt, it was flour and water - just a bland cake, and nothing could improve its taste.
In general, if you take something from home, it will be a plus, and rollton. and whatever.
- Do not take salads, as a rule there will be large thick onion rings, just onions and carrots. And you will give money for it and stay hungry. They put carrots in everything, just cut them into such fatty cubes as in soup and eat, enjoy.
3. NOTHING TO WATCH
They offered an excursion to the Taj Mahal for $ 700 per person, the rest is nonsense.
Take a look at the waterfall and elephants yourself, more on that later, the guide is very expensive and the departure is at 5 am.
4. STINKY SEA
The sea stinks of algae and something else, although the algae barely float. Sometimes the wave will cover and how to bathe in the toilet. The sea is not transparent, in the sand, at the bottom you often step on something. Everything would be fine, but they say there at the bottom sometimes small stingrays sting. I don’t know about a stingray or jellyfish, but my husband was stung by something not far from the coast, it hurt for 6 hours and stopped, the burn felt and color was like from stinging nettles, red dots. Horror catches up. In general, you will not be saved in the sea. After lunch, the tide is out, on the shore there are black starfish for some reason. They probably look different. There are a lot of locals, everyone sells you sunbeds for money (there, by the way, there is a theme of free sunbeds from a cafe, if you order something from them, we did it).
In general, it's in the country. She's terrible.
As soon as we arrived, the transfer men ran and demanded for 100 rubles each that your suitcase be loaded (they carry them on the roof, and not below, and they carry you on collapsing minibuses, and not buses like everywhere else). A girl walked along the beach corn sticks vparivaya with the words "Grandma come on" and all the time they go there begging, lice crush each other not far from you, disgustingly shorter.
On the beach, the girl said that she had black sheets in the hotel and the trash can had not been taken out even once in 2 weeks.
At 16 degrees in this regard, everything is OK, linen is not changed every day and is changed only if you go to the reception, give the key and ask - get out! Well, put a sign on the door. But they clean and the rooms are all clean, there is no need for a balcony, although we had it, I never sat, in the evenings mosquitoes bite hard.
In general, in the room and save yourself.
When choosing a country, I was guided by reviews and I don’t understand why no one writes how smelly and dirty it is.
We even wanted to change tickets, because it is simply unbearable there. You sit and wait when you get home in the winter. I didn't think this would happen to me.
Everything is really cheap there, but the price corresponds to the quality. From gifts to relatives, I advise only cashmere scarves to buy, and you can buy silver at the night market - although we still think whether it is silver or not. What is the night market? Just a bunch of tents, where everyone is pushing, rags are flying around, as if you are sorting through everything at a flea market, looking for something decent to bring to your relatives. Prices say huge until you get tired of haggling. The price is 2 times lower - this is the worst option for you, try to knock down more, usually we paid 1/3 of the originally quoted price.
Egypt and Turkey are much better than India, if you want to compare with something.
In general, let India remain in your heart as a beautiful fairy tale sari, Taj Maal, etc. , do not spoil this feeling.
If you still ended up on GOA, then we can recommend an action plan:
1. Go to the nearest Baga beach, understand that there is nothing to catch here. Swim, eat tasteless food - no matter where, it is almost the same everywhere.
2. Rent a scooter for 150 rubles per day, for 2 days - 250 rubles. etc. based on the price of 250 rubles. for every 2 days. Go to the nearest beaches - Anjuna is nearby, it is the only one that is not smelly and it is clean there, but there is a small stretch with sand at the bottom, the rest is stones.
Well, spend a day or two there. you still howl out of boredom.
The rest of the beaches are useless - the same as Baga.
3. Hire a taxi driver for a trip to the waterfall, for comparison - the tour cost $ 75 per person from the guide, we hired for 1000 rubles (2000 rupees) for three. You can hire a taxi driver yourself next to the hotel on the way to the beach, there is a whole flock of them, if anything - Mark (his name in India is PravIn) will help, he advised us a friend of a taxi driver and we saved so much.
