I stayed in this nice Tel Aviv hotel with a large group of friends and children at the beginning of August this year. I knew that the reviews about the hotel were the most positive, and still the hotel surprised me. Pleasantly surprised : )
The hotel was built in the classic Tel Aviv Bauhaus style. This style of the 20-30s of the last century is distinguished by strict lines and no frills. Almost all houses are white. The history of this hotel deserves special attention. It was in this building that the first cinema was opened in the then very young city of Tel Aviv. The current owners of the hotel building have carefully preserved the memory of its historical past. That is why the hotel is called Cinema. But the matter was not limited to the name - the design of the hotel is "tied" to the cinema. Moreover, the cinema is old, such as the generation of the 60-70s of the last century remembered it. It looks very, very stylish - old film projectors, posters (not typographic, but drawn by film artists). Even the rooms are decorated in the style of an old movie! Not to mention the fact that at the hotel reception there is not a vase with sweets common for hotels, but... popcorn!
The hotel is located right on the central Tel Aviv Dizengoff Square (where it was supposed to be the only cinema in the city at that time), on the corner from one of the streets. The location is ideal for those tourists who want to be "in the thick of things". See the hectic life of noisy and cheerful Tel Aviv, so to speak, from the inside. Around the sea cafes, restaurants, shops, and to the sea and the beach 10-15 minutes on foot. The nightlife is in full swing, and the unique fountain, which delights the audience with music and pillars of real fire every day at 19:00, only adds color to the place.
And yet, despite this location, I can not say that the hotel was noisy. Nothing prevented us from sleeping at night, although we did not always close the windows and use the air conditioners.
The standard rooms at the Cinema Hotel are small. This is typical for almost all city hotels, including 5 *. But on the other hand, they are very comfortable, thoughtful and functional. The hotel has recently been refurbished so the rooms are fresh and clean. The linen is perfectly white, in the bathroom you can find everything you want - from shampoo gels to sewing accessories.
The food at the hotel is excellent! All of us - both children and adults - really enjoyed breakfast. Hotel "Cinema" was the first during our trip to Israel, and at the end of the trip, we realized that, perhaps, the breakfasts in it were better than in other hotels. And this despite the fact that in Eilat and the Dead Sea we stayed in hotels of a higher level. The buffet at Cinema is not huge, like in 5* hotels, but everything, absolutely everything on it is very tasty and fresh.
Hotel "Cinema" is part of the famous Israeli chain Atlas. The hotels of this network are considered "boutiques" - that is, each is decorated in its own unique style. They are distinguished by the increased attention of the staff to their guests. You rarely see such a warm attitude in large hotels... Rudeness is excluded by definition! Almost all Atlas hotels have a tradition - from 17:00 to 20:00 for all hotel guests, drinks and snacks (white and red wine, juices, pastries, vegetables, fruits... ) are offered free of charge and without restriction! In this boutique hotel, this event takes place on the 4th floor - on the terrace overlooking Dizengoff Square.
I was also pleased with the free WI-FI. Worked perfectly both in the rooms and throughout the hotel!
Well, the last touch that fascinated us all, and especially our children - bike rental (only for guests and completely free! ). It's so great to take a bike and ride along the streets of Tel Aviv wherever your eyes look... But it's best to "set a course for the embankment" - to the sea, where there are a lot of bike paths and beautiful views. Our active children, give them free rein, would have reached Old Jaffa, if not further - so we had to slow them down a bit.
Incidentally, Cinema's single-chain sister hotel, Center Chic, also provides bike rentals - the two hotels share bike parking. Yes, and they are located 50 meters from each other.
