Safari Park in Ramat Gan
Safari Park is a piece of wild Africa in civilized Israel. It is located in the suburbs of Tel Aviv - in Ramat Gan. I visited it as part of a free tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa from the Diamond Exchange.
We went on a tour from Netanya. Mercedes Viano arrived at the hotel exactly at the appointed time. The driver said that there would be no one but us and the guide. To say that we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement.
We reached Tel Aviv almost without traffic jams. I love Tel Aviv very much. There is so much energy in this city! The city that never sleeps. The city that makes the heart beat faster! We drove a little through the center, swept along the promenade. . A beautiful promenade, well-maintained beaches. By the way, Tel Aviv beaches are among the ten best beaches in the world!
We picked up the guide on one of the streets of Tel Aviv, and moved towards Old Jaffa. This is my favorite part of Tel Aviv. Many different galleries, narrow streets, where every stone is saturated with history. Our guide was amazing! Very interesting and friendly person. Her name is Elena. Despite the fact that this was not my first visit to Jaffa, I learned a lot of new information. Moreover, we were not in a group, but only the three of us . . Now I understand the beauty of individual excursions : )
In order to at least escape the heat (it was at the end of July - the hottest period in Israel), we went to cool off and admire the works in the Frank Meisler Gallery. My comments about his brilliant works are unnecessary, so I suggest just admiring the masterpieces.
I also want to share photos taken in Jaffa itself. There are a lot of them, so I selected them for a long time and carefully : )
After a two-hour incredibly interesting excursion, we were forced to say goodbye to Elena in order to move on - to the Diamond Exchange. Tourists who refuse a free tour of Tel Aviv, which is free just because it is sponsored by the Diamond Exchange, are doing, in my opinion, the wrong thing to do. Yes, you will have to go to one of the many jewelry stores and look at these incomparable diamond jewelry and more. Some tourists even buy jewelry or watches - there are also relatively inexpensive items for a couple of hundred dollars... I was pleasantly surprised by the Harry Oppeheimer Diamond Museum. We were told in great detail and shown mini-films on how diamonds are mined and processed, what kind of diamonds there are. If you consider that the best friends of girls are diamonds, then I have already become very good friends with them. So far in theory : ) Sales consultants do not pester tourists, I do not offer to buy anything. They communicate only with those who themselves have expressed a desire to see something from the proposed range. They will show and tell you everything and give very practical advice!
So, slowly but surely, we came to the final and, perhaps, my favorite part of the tour - to the Safari Park! It consists of two parts. The first is the Safari itself, in which the animals are, as it were, in their natural habitat. Because there are no enclosures, hippos lie in a small swamp, rhinoceroses cluster on the sidelines, zebras graze under trees, impudent ostriches stand along the road and stick their sly faces right into the windows of cars... No one walks there on foot - it’s impossible! Therefore, everyone enters by car or bus. In order to visit the Safari and the zoo, I paid 90 shekels (about 800 rubles). It doesn't make sense to talk about animals - it's better to look at photos.
This walk did not take long. It was very hot, and that's why all the animals were hiding in the shade or sleeping. . The bus dropped us off at the entrance to the zoo and we hurried to meet our old friends: ) Who is not there! There is no comparison with our St. Petersburg, and even with Moscow zoos . . Most of all I love giraffes. They seemed to recognize me, and all three of them lined up for a photo : ) Elephants are so big and kind, one poured water on himself, he was so hot... There are a lot of families with children! There are a lot of groups of kids, but they all come in the morning, while it's not as hot as in the afternoon.
You can have a bite to eat at the zoo - there are several cafes on the territory, as well as a shop with various paraphernalia with animals. After a two-hour independent walk around the zoo, the driver took us to the Dizengoff Center, where we went shopping : )
I really enjoyed this trip. I liked the organization, the people who accompanied us. On my next visit, I will once again go on the same route, I know this for sure!
