Arad is not the Dead Sea!
Yes, dear visitors of the site, Arad is not the DEAD SEA for you. This small cozy town had never before and has now NOTHING to do with the world-famous health resort!
Yes, it is located relatively close to the Ein Bokek resort area - 30-40 minutes by car.
Yes, quite a lot of employees of hotels and service enterprises of the same resort area live in it.
BUT!! ! This does not mean that tourists who are going to relax and improve their health at the Dead Sea have something to do in Arad. The provincial town is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.
More precisely, there is absolutely nothing for them to do there - I was once again convinced of this after visiting Arad on September 19.2014.
I have been there several times before, but without a specific goal. This time I decided not just to drive around Arad, but to measure the distance and travel time from the Arad bus station to the resort area of Ein Bokek on the Dead Sea. And not only to answer the questions of our tourists later, but also to share information with everyone who might mistakenly get to Arad instead of the Dead Sea. Or not by mistake, but as a result of deliberately false information that has been actively spreading in Runet for several years. The authors who publish their "lures" under different nicknames are doing everything possible and impossible to lure tourists into their guest houses! These interested parties are not shy about outright lies. And when they are convicted of deceit, they spew so much filth in response... I know this - for the 3rd year I have been explaining to potential guests of Israel, to the best of my ability and ability, what is true! And in response, I receive streams of dirt from these interested parties. It doesn't stick to me - I'm used to this behavior of the Israelis. Incl. and "Russian" Israelis. I calmly react to this - as they say in the East, "the dog barks, the caravan moves on". . .
You can tell a lot of good things about Arad - this place deserves to be visited for a couple of hours. There is an art quarter on the outskirts, there is an archaeological park Tel Arad, etc. But there is NO Dead Sea!! !
