We were in Eilat in April, staying at the Americana Hotel.
At the exit from the airport, we were met by a girl with a sign of a travel agency and showed us a bus for a group transfer. People gathered for about 40 minutes, until all the seats on the bus were filled. Then, along the way, our tour agent talked about the rules of behavior typical for the city, currency exchanges, holidays, and interesting excursions. We drove for about 50 minutes, stopped at almost every hotel for vacationers to leave. In the evening at 10 o'clock, having settled in the Americana hotel (everyone speaks Russian), we immediately ran to the sea. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. But to our disappointment, swimming was forbidden in the evening, and on the embankment itself, there was not a single lantern. The Americana hotel has a double room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room is inexpensive and clean, we liked it. The room has a safe, air conditioning, TV with the first channel, hairdryer, refrigerator, kettle with tea and coffee bags. Breakfast and dinner - buffet.
Tasty. The only thing I don’t understand is how you can close all drinks for dinner, and put only a decanter with very cold water and pieces of ice floating in it on the table. For breakfast, however, tea - coffee, some kind of citrus drink. The fresh water pool is closed from 18:00. In the morning until 9:00 it is cleaned, the depth varies from 1 m to 2 m. from 9 to 17 the sauna with a stuffy Jacuzzi worked: it was so hot outside that I didn’t really want to go to this sauna. We bought water. 1.5 liter. a bottle of water costs 5 ILS, but if you take 6 bottles, everything is for 13 ILS. Also wine: 1 bottle = 39 ILS, 2 bottles = 45 ILS. The Red Sea is awesome! the purest! transparent! and, in my opinion, very invigorating, 26 degrees, no more. Although the air temperature is 32-36. The beach is sand with pebbles. You can take towels from the hotel. Sunbeds are paid. You burn imperceptibly, instantly! There are not so many vacationers, the beach is not like herring in a barrel. Mostly Russians on the beach, but also heard Hebrew, French.
There are a lot of students and they are pleasing to the eye with their positive : ) Excursion - a walk on a ship with a transparent bottom, I liked it very much. A very detailed story about Eilat, romantic, incomparable water, beautiful corals. I do not advise you to go on a sightseeing tour, because the tour itself lasts 15 minutes (you can get around the whole city in 30 minutes! ), And then for 1 hour they bring you to the diamond fund and obsessively offer to order, book, buy their certified products for crazy price (with a huge discount just for you! ). And seeing your normal desire “we came just to relax by the sea, and not on the very first day to run for diamonds! ”, begin to ingratiatingly pour phrases like “without buying, you lose”, “you need to love yourself”. It is very unpleasant when they do this to you in the very first days of your stay in this friendly city! We spat and left there on our own.
We took an excursion - we went all day to the southern coast of the Dead Sea - we liked it. Comfortable bus, sociable guide, enchanting deserts, date palms along the way (buy delicious dates! ). The sea itself is hot, oily, healthy, the air temperature there was 42 degrees. Sun loungers, showers with fresh water, towels were provided to us. There was also a pool. Salt, dirt, special soap - only for your money! Tired, we were satisfied with the trip to the Dead Sea.
For departing tourists at the airport, they have a special procedure. Be prepared for the fact that your suitcase will be opened in front of you, they will feel what is in it and ask a thousand questions like: are there only your things? did you pack the suitcase yourself? did you leave him unattended? where did you buy this wine? are these your shoes? do you carry dates? did you buy them yourself? where did you buy them? (God forbid, if you say in Jordan : ))
