Most of all I wanted to visit Ubud. Live there. Wander slowly through the streets. Take a bike and ride around like Julia Roberts. Admire suspension bridges among lush vegetation, fields, palm trees, sculptures, monkeys . . I managed to do this only in a small part. It was as if she slid her fingertips over the surface of a smooth ball without grabbing it. Ubud remained unfinished, unknown, undiscovered, but I still feel the aftertaste, that's why I write, plunging into memories, plunging into the atmosphere of Bali, raising sounds, smells, sensations, impressions from consciousness. That's why I'm trying to pass it on to you. Not so that you also fall in love with Bali, although I don’t mind), but because I myself love it and in these stories I experience everything again and again.

The morning was early, there was a long day ahead, he was in a hurry, he ran, and I held him back - do not end, please. It was a dual state - I wanted to enjoy the city slowly and at the same time have time to see, live as much as possible. Time was compressed like a spring, and I drank it in small sips, like spring water.

There are two must-see places in Ubud. This is the Monkey Forest and the Antonio Blanco Museum.

The Monkey Forest is located on Monkey Forest Street, it's not far from the hotel we stayed in Ubud, so we went there on foot. Walking around Ubud is a pleasure. You walk, turn your head, everything that falls into the field of view asks for the lens. Monkey Forest Street is full of shops and cafes. Monkeys, running out of the forest, sit by the side of the road and roam near the shops. The entrance to the forest is paid. But it costs only 20.000 rupees. The forest is not really a forest, rather a park with a temple and many sculptures. Monkeys are mostly friendly, but there are quite arrogant ones. Their teeth are hoo-hoo! ) It is better to deal with kids who run on their own, or stay close to the park workers. They will put a big monkey on your shoulder and let you take as many pictures as you like. It's free. Climbing with tenderness towards large monkeys can be fraught. But you can watch them, wander around the park, just sit and listen to the forest. It is especially interesting to watch the kids who are still in the arms of their mothers. It is better to hide small things, jewelry, glasses and everything of value so that the monkeys do not steal them.

The Antonio Blanco Museum is also located near the center, to the west, st. Jl. Raya Ubud, this is in the direction of Penestanan. Open from 9.00 to 17.00 every day. Paid entrance. It costs 50.000 rupees.

I'm not a fan of museums, but this one is very interesting. This is the house of the artist, of unusual architecture, decorated with sculptures, his courtyard, a poultry house. Art gallery in the house. There is a restaurant attached to the museum. From the restaurant it is easy to enter the museum courtyard, admire the birds, architecture, nature, a ticket is required only at the entrance to the house. And although the courtyard is undoubtedly very interesting, without visiting the house the impression will be incomplete. Even if you are not interested in paintings, it is worth going up to the roof, there are beautiful views and wonderful sculptures.

Big birds are the most fun. The museum worker puts them on the visitors, it's so nice to hold a huge parrot or a gentle hornbill, pressing its beak to your face.

The restaurant, next to the museum, has high prices, but the food is very tasty and the atmosphere is pleasant. Probably worth a visit at least once.

We spent the middle of the day swimming in the pool, but in the evening we again got to Kecak. No matter how they advertise Kecak for women, but for men, traditional, Kecak is something. The strongest energy. I went into a trance several times. You sit, you don't fall, but you can't move, you fall asleep, no matter how you struggle with it. A very unusual feeling. Definitely recommend.

Everything that we singled out in Ubud is a five with two pluses. I regret only one thing - too little time was allotted for me to visit Ubud, we did not see much that was worth seeing. But ahead of us was another sightseeing day and evening at the temple on the water - we moved to Tanah Lot.
