Of course, it is not perfect, and the last thing I would like is for you to have a false idea of ideality and be disappointed when you ever see my personal paradise live) Therefore, perhaps I will start with the shortcomings)
1. Wi-Fi at the reception and the pool. For some reason, it is not available in superior rooms, above the river. But I think that the economy rooms catch it by the pool.
2. There is no refrigerator.
3. Damp, a lot of mold, it picturesquely lives on stones, which, warming up in the sun, smell like my paradise in a special way) For people allergic to mold or asthmatics, staying in such a hotel (almost everywhere in Ubud) is undesirable .
4. No iron. Ironing is paid. It costs a penny, but the dress will be brought to you folded. This can be annoying.
5. No pool towels. Take your towels from the room, and then go to the reception to change them. This is inconvenient - after a shower, the towels are wet, and you can’t get into the pool before the shower, we are cultured people)
6. The pool is very small. Sun loungers 4 pieces.
7. Bed linen and towels are not the first youth. In particular, towels are thin, gray, they ask to be thrown away, but they are probably dear to the owner as a memory)
8. Staff may show up unexpectedly. This is a minus in superior rooms - such rooms occupy an entire floor and overlook a deserted place-the river, so they create the illusion of privacy. And then all of a sudden, people quietly appeared on your terrace.
9. The river below murmurs very colorfully, but it looks bad - dirty, small, mystical and deserted.
10. No drinking water.
I figured out the shortcomings, I tried to be very objective. Now you ask, how can a hotel with so many flaws be my personal paradise? It has a soul! It vibrates energetically) And this vibration completely coincides with the vibrations of my body. Once there, I fell in love with this place forever. Everything that fell into my field of vision, everything that I felt with other senses - sounds, smells, tactility - everything aroused delight. I do not rule out that something blooms there that acts on me narcotic)
I will try to describe the advantages objectively.
This is a guest house, the owner's family lives on the territory, everyone, even an elderly grandmother, participates in the process of serving guests. The cleanliness is perfect, they clean it very carefully and wash, clean, shine all day long, all this with a smile, with a sincere disposition towards the guests, as if we were really visiting them.
All buildings and nature are in perfect harmony. Either a good designer worked, or Balinese yards are traditionally obtained like this. A little wear and natural materials - aren't these the works of great designers? ) The architecture is very unusual for us, but the abundance of gold does not tire, on the contrary, it is very pleasing to the eye. People come here on a tour from other hotels.
Our room was huge, occupying an entire floor of a building that stretched in steps along the entire slope, from the pool to the river. Huge four-poster double bed, very high. So high that a low chair-step was moved to the bed) The second bed-single stands in a niche. Console, chest of drawers, bedside tables, two armchairs and a coffee table - wooden, of the best quality. Lots of windows. The washbasin is in the room, separated from the bedroom by a chest of drawers and a clothes rack. The bathroom is separated by a door, there is also a toilet. There are three windows in the bathroom) Stone statues everywhere.
Huge terrace on the whole floor. Table, three chairs. Clothes dryer. Room service is free.
Probably the most chic is the courtyard. You walk along a narrow stone bridge, and water lilies grow around, and everything - doors, windows, roofs, stone fences, sculptures, vegetation - everything is in superlatives.
To the center on foot 8-10 minutes, to the forest of monkeys 20-25 minutes. The temple where they dance Kecak is about three or four minutes towards the center, on the opposite side of the street. Ketut, the owner of the Ketuts Place guest house, is dancing Kecak.
We were there for only two nights, leaving with great reluctance. Now I understand that I definitely had to stop running, not try to see everything in Bali to the maximum, but spend at least one day on the terrace of such a room, listen to the roosters sing and the river murmurs, read something pleasant, sometimes looking at the trees and stretching with pleasure).
So I will be back there.
