Bali
Participated in a promotional tour in Bali in November 2010. In general, I am pinned by Asian countries with their special attitude to life, which is often very different from our and European worldview, which is why I chose a trip to Bali.
When we took off, a volcano was raging on the island of Java, the news was that the flight zone was closed, I was already upset, I thought that we would not fly away, or, in extreme cases, we would fly to Singapore. However, there were no changes in the schedule of Koltsovo airport, and our Transaero plane took off exactly on schedule. In principle, the 12-hour flight did not bother me much.
And here we are in Bali! At Denpasar airport, you need to pay $25 for a tourist visa for 30 days, fill out a migration card indicating your place of residence in Bali. Customs control is selective, I carried the leftovers from the Yekaterinburg duty-free saying "know alcohol! ". The host immediately put a necklace of flowers around the neck of our entire group and gave us a bottle of water. There is no way without water
In the hotels that I will talk about, I lived for 2 nights, with the exception of Maya Ubud and Hard Rock Hotel - for 1 night.
The first hotel we stayed at was Nikko Bali 5 *, located in the Nusa Dua area. In Indonesia, it is forbidden to build buildings higher than a palm tree, but since the hotel is built on a rock, one of its buildings has 16 floors. Big, beautiful, comfortable hotel, there is a Russian guide. The beach is clean, but there are just islands of garbage floating in the ocean! Swimming in the ocean is like walking up to your neck in a city dump! However, in the morning, when there was a hot tropical downpour, the garbage islands sailed away in an unknown direction! By the way, when I read reviews of tourists on the same site like "terrible! The ocean is littered! " I would like to answer - this is not the fault of the hotel, the Balinese or someone else, the garbage comes from other continents, from all over the world, and we are all to blame for the fact that heaps of garbage are formed off the coast of our hotel! Only Russians go to the ocean, while other nations hang out peacefully and quietly by the pools.
Dinner was scheduled at BVLGARI Hotels 5 * - a great place for a relaxing quiet holiday! 59 villas, everything is super comfortable and of high quality! Dinner is just amazing! At dinner, after the words "and now a present from the chef! " I almost cried: “Yes, stop eating already! It doesn’t fit into me anymore! ”, It was a pity not to finish something, because the food in Bali is very, very tasty!
The second hotel in which we lived - Ayana Resort & Spa 5 * Stunningly beautiful and magnificent hotel! There is a wonderful Russian guide - Anya! In general, I really liked this hotel! Steep descent to the ocean, a very large staircase to go down to the ocean, so few people went to the ocean in this hotel. Access to the ocean is closed at 20.00. Everyone was relaxing by the pools. A huge hotel of 177 hectares, but I never managed to get lost in it))))
Further on the program, we went to the central part of the island - the Ubud area, the Maya Ubud 5 * hotel. Although there is no ocean there, there are amazing jungles, a mountain river, etc. ! Gorgeous pools on the edge of the abyss! Loved the hotel! Relaxation complete! Meditation, yoga! The only one who disturbed the peace in the hotel was me!!!!! ! Our 1st floor room had 2 balconies with direct access to the jungle! (more precisely, to an exotic garden) And at night, sitting on the balcony and drinking whiskey, I saw a bunch of fireflies flying by, and a huge beetle that almost landed on me!
The next hotel we stopped at was Conrad Bali 5*. The five-star, as a five-star, was not remembered by anything, the only thing is that it is very dark at night, there is little lighting, from the pools to the room I almost got by touch!
The next hotel we stayed in was the Grand Hyatt Bali 5*. Excellent hotel! Clean ocean!!!! ! Clean beach! Surfing and more!
I would stay in this hotel for a long time!!!!
Near the hotel, a great place for shopping is the Bali Collection shopping place - a bunch of souvenir shops, clothes, grocery stores, restaurants with inexpensive and delicious food! I don’t advise you to buy a collection at the beginning and in the middle of the bali collection - it’s better to go to the end and buy the same product at affordable prices!
Our final refuge in Bali was the Hard Rock Hotel 4 * in the Kuta area - the best option for Russian travelers, especially young ones!
Of course, the rooms are smaller than in the five-building buildings, there are no rooms with ocean views, etc. but all this does not bother at all, tk. The hotel has an atmosphere of fun! Every evening the lobby turns into a nightclub, you can also rock hard at the hard rock cafe!
In general, Bali left very positive memories!!!
Of the attractions that are definitely worth a visit:
- Bird Park
- Elephant Park
-Waterboom Waterpark
Indonesian rupiah. 1$=8200-8900 IDR, Moreover, hundred dollar bills are valued more than small bills. The best rate at which I exchanged currency - 8900 rupees per dollar was in the silver shop UC Silver. I've never seen such a good rate anywhere else. It is very inconvenient that the banknote of 10.000 rupees is the same color as the banknote of 100.000 rupees
All year round +33. . 35 during the day, +26. . 28 at night
The ocean water is hot! Boiling water!!!!!!
The rains are heavy, it pours like a bucket, but they do not last long, 20 minutes maximum
Nature: simply gorgeous! I have no words! This is a must see!
very high-quality things, there are almost no products made of plastic and plastic! Everything is just super-quality! And everything is made in Indonesia/Bali! I did not see any Chinese things there! But the prices are high! Take money with you at the rate of $ 100-120 / day per person
Very tasty food! Spicy but delicious!! ! Now in Russia all the food seems insipid to me! The basis of the food is rice and seafood, as well as beef and a whole ton of delicious spices !!!!!
Well, what is a Russian without alcohol? ! Local Bintang beer can be taken at the hotel at a price of $3 for 0.33l, but it is better to buy 0.67l at a store for about $2-2.5. Found in a specialized whiskey store - a bottle for $ 8! As for smoking, there are even spiced cigarettes!!! ! Who doesn't like flavored cigarettes - Marlboro is always on sale
Prostitution:
Available. In the Sanur area. I do not recommend: from $50 to $70 + round-trip taxi payment + tips for the girl, it turned out to be about $100-140, while the girl has sex not only with you - but also with your brains! It just blows your mind! I just retired, didn’t have time to undress - she let’s take out the brain for a tip, like “come on 100 bucks! ” you say no, she is bargaining.
And you take it not for an hour, but only for one "stick". In Thailand the service is much better!! ! Yes, what can I say! In Russia the service is better!!!

In general, these are the impressions of Bali. It really is paradise!
