Terrible hotel!!! Last review April 2009

Prologue.

I do not advise you to opt for Bali in general, and even more so at the Inna Putri Bali hotel!

Don't mess with Tropicana. They do not work professionally in everything! For example, the guide Julia simply forgot to warn the guests of this hotel about the postponement of the Moscow flight by 5 hours, because of which we spent 7.5 hours at Bali airport...

Main.

Rested with the company from 22.03 to 04.04. 2009

Expectation:
It was evident from the pictures and reviews that the hotel is simple, old, relatively inexpensive, that you need to go to Kuta for entertainment and club life. The shortcomings had to be compensated for by excellent weather, a large well-groomed hotel area, a picturesque beach (without strongly pronounced low tides), interesting excursions, developed infrastructure in terms of restaurants and souvenir shops ...and, of course, Balinese hospitality : )

Realities:
The weather was really great! Hooray! And it was allowed to swim at night in the pool.

On this, in fact, the pluses end. Kettle in the room – last plus/

And now, dear reader, make yourself comfortable, I begin my story : )

Importing alcohol to Bali.
Moscow Duty Free claims that you can bring 2 liters of alcohol per person into Bali. Bullshit! In the best case, when leaving the airport for each extra liter, the Bali man will offer to give him from $10 to $30, in the worst case, leave the excess at the airport or drink J

Hotel ZAPADLO
The hotel is very old, EVERYWHERE cockroaches, ants, as if it's not 4+ in Bali, but 2* in Goa : (
On the first day, we were placed in a room overlooking the construction site and the road, and we could not pay attention to the shabby furniture, the faucet in the bathroom that did not close, clods of dust on the floor, goosebumps on the bedside table, burnt out light bulbs and frankly dirty bed linen and towels, but I couldn't close my eyes to several dozens of ants merrily running around the sheet and pillow.
After the second persistent attempt to change the number in intelligible English, clapping their eyes and throwing up their hands, they answered: “There are no numbers. Tomorrow after twelve. To the logical question: “Where to sleep tonight? ” suggested spraying bed linen with insect repellant spray and sleeping on it. Horror. As a result, I had to sit half the night in the Internet room at the hotel, climbing up on a chair with my feet and moving away from the walls, so as not to come into contact with cockroaches. And the second part of the night is spent in the lobby of the hotel, not far from the receptionist who was sleeping in the same place (! ).
In general, the next day the room was changed to a more or less normal one, there were fewer insects.
The name of the hotel was chosen by us not by chance. From the first day of my stay, the ZAPADLO hotel presented me and my friends with unpleasant surprises with a frequency of ~ 30 minutes.

Either the elevator does not go, then it closes when the passenger exits, then the air freshener automatically splashes in the face, then the air conditioner does not work, then the cards for entering the room do not work, then in the middle of the reception there is an oil painting: a huge cockroach and a bunch of goosebumps that attacked him and no one if it doesn’t, then 3 dumb-headed Balinese, having sold an Internet card, try to activate it for 40 minutes, then in a gift box of a Bingo prize won in a hotel competition - a dead cockroach. I understand that this is Asia, but in normal hotels (for example, in the nearby Grand Hyatt) and in good restaurants (of which there are very few), disinfection is everywhere every day and such lawlessness was not noticed. By the way, the hotel itself is still positioning itself as a 5 *!
Running ahead. Yes, there are good hotels in Bali, for example, the same 5+* Grand Hyatt (now renamed), where you can relax with comfort and relatively good service. Question WHY?
The beach everywhere in Nusa Dua is not clean enough, the water is muddy, there is always a lot of algae, I have seen floating debris in the water several times. And most importantly! I saw all the main sights of Bali. Well, nothing special at all. In comparison with other countries, the same Thailand - everything is insipid! And, having paid in this way from $ 3.500 for a good hotel for 2 weeks, taking from $ 2.000 with you (ice cream costs 7.000 rupees - $ 7), the prospect of a normal holiday looms, unless of course you go beyond the territory. With the same success, you can go to the Dominican Republic, to the Emirates, to Europe, finally, anywhere! …

The hotel staff is stupid, rude and uneducated. Plus with an idiotic sense of humor.
For example, when a poisonous (as it turned out later) insect flew into our room, similar to a huge flying cockroach with a hobod, the sanitation personnel were in no hurry to come, and when, rebounding from fear, he nevertheless killed it, he rejoiced with colleagues that “the cockroach » not red, so his bite can be cured ...it would. But from a bite of red - no. Nightmare : (

Well, since the conversation turned to the local population, I hasten to inform you, my precious reader, that they, in the vast majority, do not like Russians. There may be reasons for this, but that's not the point. The bottom line is that no matter how you smile - the goal is the same - to shake out the max amount of money. Once an employee of the exchange office at the hotel, in a confidential conversation in English, admitted that the hotel was imprisoned for the Chinese and crazy Russians, whom all Balinese can not stand! And I was very embarrassed when I found out that we are not Americans.

The same incident was during breakfast with the staff, only we were mistaken for the French. Similarly, with masseuses on the beach: as soon as they find out that you are from Russia, and even more so from Moscow (for some reason), the attitude changes dramatically in a negative direction.

Breakfast is a total joke. I think it’s not worth writing about the fact that all food is peppered, and there is nothing to eat except watermelons (delicious by the way), eggs in different versions and unleavened cereals. And even about the fact that the staff is lazy and not quick ...I will write about rudeness and lawlessness. More than once we encountered a situation where, at a request to make scrambled eggs from 3 eggs, the staff indignantly asked again, then said that it was a lot and indecent, then went to suck on this topic with one of my colleagues in the kitchen (if there was a constant queue for scrambled eggs), and some were even denied right away! It doesn’t fit in my head, a buffet)) And this x. in relation to the Russians every day happened, just a circus!
Yesterday at breakfast, my Russian friend, a healthy man, went for scrambled eggs from 3 eggs. And to this request, with an evil grin, the servant declares: “No! Only 2! » - and breaks 2 eggs. So he came up and drove himself the third himself : ).
Every day in suspense. . Bali. . the island of dreams! J: )

Fun!
Bali has its own traditions, its own religion, customs - and that's great! . . as long as it does not interfere with tourists to rest. So-called "ceremonies" often take place, expressed in loud monotonous and very nasty music playing everywhere, in particular in the hotel, in tedious howling prayers and ...closed restaurants and shops! ) Moreover, it will be an unpleasant surprise for you, because no one considers it necessary to warn about such trifles.
But the guide warned us about one ceremony: the Balinese New Year! March 26th.

The bottom line: from 6 pm local time from the 25th you can’t leave the hotel at all, and on the 26th you can’t leave the hotel, you can’t go to the beach and swim in the sea all day! , you can’t go out to eat (breakfast-based package), you can’t talk loudly and you need to be prepared for the complete absence of electric light! True, the light in the room can be turned on by pulling the curtains tightly. I had to get up at 5.30 in the morning to take sun loungers by the pool, and then take an involuntary part in the tragicomedy called: “Sochi of the 90s” or “I wonder if there is more Water or People in the pool? » And in the evening we drank in the room. No comments……. . : (

All hope for Kuta!
Having finally understood that Nusa Dua is a lousy place, we went to Kuta.
Well, what can I say about Kuta . . ; ) Dirt, semi-darkness, as elsewhere, in exchangers they are trying to deceive, poverty, malevolence, obsession ...Were in several discos, including the most famous "Bounty".
There are practically no Russians, crowded people, locals, Chinese, Australians ...all scary, dumb, in tattered clothes . . 99% are either stoned or drunk. Well, this is understandable - in their right mind there is nothing to do in Kut. Just look at the beach - I'm extremely sorry that I didn't take a picture! It's just trash: every 20 cm there is garbage! Chip bags, bottles, paper, cores, candy wrappers, cans - a huge city dump! It must be seen. . And of course, along the embankment, everyone offers drugs, everything, everything and everyone! Welcome to Bali!
- - You can find cool things for the interior in Kuta's "Discovery Shopping Mall"! And that's a big plus : )

Fruits are sold only in some supermarkets, and all of them are not juicy and tasteless (except for watermelons). Maybe not the season...

We also visited the bird park (very small) reptile park, in the village of Ubud, in the temple of Tanah Lot (unfortunately, at low tide) with a disgusting smelly market, in the monkey forest, went to Jimbaran, at the temple of Uluwatu watched the Kachek dance, where a Russian woman from the front row at the end of the performance received severe burns, due to the fact that safety precautions are zero. Not to mention the fact that the tourists sat almost on each other's heads and in the aisles - this small arena was not designed for such a number of tourists. And is it normal that on the way to the arena where the dance takes place, on the right there is a bewitching view of the ocean and rocks, really very impressive, and on the left - Garbage, right next to the temple and on the ENTIRE territory there are heaps of garbage that have not been cleaned for months! And it's in one of the most popular tourist spots in Bali. So you can analyze in detail each excursion!
And generally speaking!
I come to the conclusion that the quality of holidays in Bali has been declining at the speed of light in recent years.
It would seem that the nature on the island is gorgeous! the climate is great! the sky is starry! History, temples, once built good hotels - great! .........It is only necessary to SUPPORT and PRESERVE natural resources, the level of service, improve what has already been achieved, develop infrastructure, make efforts, work at least partly for the future! And the policy in Bali, unfortunately, boils down to something else: "Use what is left until it loses its tourist attractiveness, milk the maximum amount of money from each tourist, fuck everything you can - in general, they live one day ...." It's all the fault of narrow-mindedness, greed and blasphemy! Sadly : (

Summary.
Of course, resting is not working, and if you are guided by the principle: good weather is 50% of a successful holiday, then half the rest will be possible : )

Bonus!
(for the most devoted readers and those who nevertheless decided to visit this Paradise on the planet): when buying dollars for a trip, make sure that they are of the “correct series” : )
Old series dollars cannot be exchanged anywhere at all, including the airport, banks and private exchangers. It is also impossible to pay them, respectively. You should not take a new series of money either, they will be exchanged for you at a reduced rate : )
