My husband and I rested in this wonderful hotel on the island of Lembongan for only 4 days from April 2 to April 5.2013. The island is small, there are no taxis, there are no cars here, mostly motorbikes, and a few trucks that carry tourists from the boat to the hotel.
The hotel itself is located in Dream beach bay. Once you get there, you realize that this is really a dream! The bay is small, closed, the waves are rather large, as in Kuta. But before lunch you can swim quite.
We lived in a bungalow at the very end of the beach, the bungalow itself is 2 floors, the first floor is a lounge with 2 mattresses and a table, you can relax both during the day and in the evening (there are lamps). In front of the stairs to the second floor there is a beautiful stone vase with an open top and a faucet at the bottom for washing feet. Very convenient, because there is no need to wear shoes, you walk barefoot on the sand all the time.
On the second floor there is a balcony with a table and 2 chairs, where you can also relax and drink wine in the evening. The situation in the bungalow itself is simple - a bed with a stole and a large nightstand. But by and large, this is all you need on the island! The bed is very comfortable, there is an extra pillow, and most importantly - a canopy! The bed is changed every day, and every time fresh exotic flowers that grow on the beach are placed on the bed! As a girl, this could not leave me indifferent! The lamps are located in a very unusual way in the room, so that at night the subdued light, combined with a canopy, creates a unique romantic atmosphere! Even my husband, who is far from all romantic things, appreciated the atmosphere of the bungalow . There is no air conditioning in the room, only a fan, but this is enough, because. in the evening and at night it is cool in the bay, and very comfortable, unlike the stuffy Kuta and Sanur.
Next, the most exotic, in my opinion - a toilet and a shower. To get there, you need to go down the stairs to the backyard of the bungalow. The courtyard is fenced off with a high bamboo fence and wall, so that the bathroom is inaccessible to prying eyes. The toilet and sink are located under the canopy of the roof of the bungalow, but the bamboo shower is completely open-air! The water in the shower is the same temperature - cooler in the morning, warmer in the afternoon, warming up under the sun's rays, but overall very comfortable! Water, by the way, in the hotel, and indeed on the island, is desalinated. When you brush your teeth for the first time, it feels uncomfortable. The watermaker, apparently, does not work quite well, but then you get used to it and do not notice it. Also in the bathroom there is a spacious dryer for towels and swimwear.
The hotel has a restaurant with the name of the local fruit Pandan. This fruit grows on palm trees throughout the hotel. But as it turned out, the fruit is inedible, it can be very poisonous, so the locals use it only as decorative elements in the restaurant, and take the fruit only with gloves. As for the cuisine in the restaurant, my husband and I were delighted! The food there is delicious! Before coming to Lembongan, we lived in Kuta for almost 2 weeks, visited a variety of cafes and restaurants - both expensive and cheap, but we didn’t like Balinese cuisine at all, especially after Thai and Vietnamese. In general, we usually ate without pleasure, but apparently, Pandan's cook is really a master of his craft. The prices in the restaurant are not the cheapest, but not very expensive either, rather average by Balinese standards. There are no shops or cafes near the hotel, so you have to eat lunch or dinner either in the restaurant at the hotel, or go to some cafe on a motorbike. (Motobike rental, by the way, is paid, unlike other hotels on the island).
The entire territory of the hotel is furnished very comfortably, thoughtfully, apparently, a good designer has worked. Paved paths, carved stone stairs, palm trees, vases, animal figurines, amazing stone lanterns that are lit after dark - everything is thought out to the smallest detail.
I’ll tell you about the pool separately - it is two-level, with iridescent sides. Located above the beach, so when you swim, the feeling that the pool water flows smoothly into the sea. One side of the pool is bordered by a cafe, and in addition, there are recessed bar stools in the upper pool - for those who like to take a cocktail, so to speak, without leaving
There are a lot of bungalows in this hotel, but they are located in such a way that no one interferes with anyone. When we rested on Dream Beach, many of the bungalows were occupied, but at the same time we hardly met anyone. Either other tourists were already leaving early in the morning to explore the surroundings of the island on motorbikes, or they slept all the time (fresh air, the sound of the waves is very conducive to this), or they quietly went about their own business. For example, a couple from a neighboring bungalow meditated almost around the clock, the atmosphere in the hotel is very conducive to this.
Many go to Lembongan for the sake of bays with white sand and calm water without waves (Mushroom bay), we did not get a bungalow in this bay, so we had to check into Dream beach Huts. But having visited Mushroom bay, we realized our happiness! The bay is certainly beautiful, but it is here that many tourists are brought to relax for the day, so there are a lot of boats of different sizes in the water, so those who want to swim will have to wade through numerous boats. And the bay itself is large, there are many hotels and restaurants in it, so it gives the impression of being crowded. And in our small bay there is only one hotel and because of the waves the sea is completely free from boats.
In general, the hotel offers privacy, silence, peace and, of course, romance! It seems to me that this is an ideal place for a honey week (a month, it will still be boring on Lembongan )
And one more thing - I can't help mentioning - opposite the entrance to the hotel there is a large field where cows graze during the day, and local boys chase the ball in the evening. We wandered along the path, and stumbled upon a stunningly indescribable sight! As it turned out later, this place is called Devil's tear. Huge volcanic rocky stones that break right into the sea and gigantic waves that break inside the rocks, and splashes break out with noise. The sight impressed us in the evening before sunset, and we returned in the morning to take photos in the sunlight. And in the morning we were amazed even more! The spray, breaking under the rocks, burst out and flew through the rainbow. I can’t convey this unusual natural phenomenon in words and convey how impressed we were with this beauty, so I strongly recommend that everyone who plans to visit the island see it with their own eyes!
The last thing I want to say, of course, we liked Bali, but we are unlikely to fly here again, but about Lembongan, my husband and I unanimously agreed that we would return with great pleasure to this heavenly dream bay again ! Although my husband prefers more noisy and active pastime, including night time.
