1) Excellent service, friendly staff, everything is at hand.
2) The location is excellent, all the necessary points are within easy reach. The room overlooked the courtyard, very quiet and peaceful. There is TV in Russian, Wi-Fi, which is very important for me, besides it is completely free and in the room. Good bed, great bathroom, everything is clean, always cleaned.
3) Breakfast is poor, you don’t eat much, well, that’s for my taste.
4) Restaurants and bar are not bad, not expensive and tasty.
In general, the hotel is excellent, I advise.
1. The location in terms of accessibility to historical / interesting places is EXCELLENT, for example, to Margaret Island - 15-20 minutes of a measured step with a stroller, a whining child and a tired 57-year-old grandmother, to Heroes' Square (there is also a wonderful park where baths are located Szé chenyi) 20-25 minutes with the same stroller and with the same child, only sleeping, to the Basilica of St. Stephen, 5 minutes on foot in the same company - stroller, child, grandmother. But there is also a minus of the location of this hotel - it is located on the road along which trams travel, although they are newfangled, relatively quiet, but there is still noise, motorcycles and local ambulances are just animals that make such a tearing sound, especially at night. True, this minus applies to those rooms (for example, our 740) that faced the street, rooms with windows overlooking the courtyard are quiet.
By the way, there is a pharmacy nearby across the road, immediately behind it is a cafe-bar (we were not there, but there were enough visitors there), opposite, also across the road - a bank
2. Number. Our room turned out to be old, not renovated. there are rooms in the hotel after renovation (for example, 633, it also overlooks a cozy courtyard, although not pretentious) in pretty good condition, with good Villeroy & Boch plumbing. Our room was tolerably normal, not taking into account the bathroom - this is a separate issue: 1. a double bed with a solid mattress, and not two separate mattresses pushed together, which many hotels sin, which is especially true when sleeping with a small child, however, such I specifically ordered a mattress when buying a tour; 2. folding sofa chair, very comfortable; 3. table and two chairs; 4. a table for a teapot, cups, saucers and a tea set (tea bags, coffee, cappuccino, sugar); 5. safe; 6. refrigerator, but, as for me, the temperature in it is almost room temperature; 7. roomy closet; 8. plasma TV - the only new and worthy thing in the room; 9. hair dryer. (by the way, room 633 also has an ironing board and iron). The state of things is old, not completely dead, but on the verge, the sofa chair is dirty and shabby, two decorative curtains, in short, it would be better if they removed this rag, the furniture is shabby, some drawers lack handles. The bathroom is such a state of affairs, starting with tiles on the walls and floors, plumbing fixtures of a terrible appearance, albeit in working order, ending with a wall-mounted vacuum cleaner with a proudly named hair dryer.
3. Staff. At the reception, people are friendly, ready to help, always asking how they can help and more than that, they help, they speak English and German very well, one elderly uncle with a gray mustache even speaks a little Russian. I do not recommend calling a taxi through the hotel reception, the taxi called by the hotel cost us 800-1000 forints more than when we took it from the same place only to the hotel - they called a taxi through, for example, a restaurant and were surprised each time by the difference in price . The porters (hmm, did I call them correctly? ) each time opened the doors in front of us with the children and in front of our grandmother. The waiter, at breakfast, at my request to bring yogurt to the child, brought a spoon with a napkin, and is still looking for this unfortunate yogurt. The waiter who brought dinner to the room was very polite with a subtle sense of humor, although this is no longer the merit of the hotel, but the personal qualities of a person, but it was nice. . .
4. Food at the hotel. The breakfasts are normal, if you wish, you can gorge yourself, but you won’t really accelerate, because the choice is small, but sufficient, all four of our breakfasts were identical. Baking, as for me, is great! If desired, breakfast can be ordered to the room, 10% of the cost of the breakfast itself will need to be paid extra for such a service. If you pay for breakfast separately at the hotel, then they are expensive, I thought that one very, very meager breakfast would cost the same price as dinner in an Italian restaurant for 1.5 people without drinking, of course, but only the main dish, but still. We ordered dinner in the room: it was quite tasty, especially the savory meat!!!
5. Cleanliness and atmosphere. The room is cleaned once in a while: either conscientiously, then horrible, but the bathroom was invariably cleaned well. The hotel itself is clean. The policy of the hotel is no-smoking throughout the hotel (though I don't know how things are in the restaurant), but even in the lobby there are no-smoking signs. The hotel has many older couples and families with children. There are also young people, but in smaller numbers. During our visit, mainly Italians and Germans were observed, there were other nations, including Russians, but less. The hotel is quiet and calm.
6. Pool. A paddling pool 1.20 m deep, 4 or 5 sunbeds, everything is very primitive, artificial flowerpots, again this tile is ala "happy Soviet childhood", although this was to be expected, since this pool looks very depressing in the photo of the hotel. It works from 16 to 22. I never got to know who gives out the keys to the changing rooms. there is a sauna.
Finally: a 4-star hotel, in my humble opinion, does not live up to it, but it is worth the money and you can safely choose it if you are not going to spend all the time in the room / on the territory of the hotel, but only come to spend the night. But I, to be honest, would not stay there a second time.
